  1. So potentially you could have a different chord than the original chord within the handshape (say, for example, an Am7 instead of a plain Am) that displays as high density (no note information) but which actually requires a different chord to make RS register it? Players would be hitting an Am, because a repeat line suggests it, but the game is looking for an Am7 to score. Obviously the charter can manage the chart as they see fit, but that sounds a bit disorientating. I've been reading through and it seems like that is what is being asked for and has been implemented. I'll have a mess about, and I know that I'm most likely wrong (again :D ) but that is the question that springs to mind so I thought I'd ask...
  2. So we need new toolkit to utilize these updates in EoF?
  3. There was a Window 10 update recently (I got it just after Xmas) that basically reset all my audio on my pc. Sound panel got reset (all the extra bass and fake surround settings in my control panel), Bandicam recording settings got reset to default, MIDI was all reset to default and it actually fixed an issue I was having with some USB ports. My Rocksmtih was ot effected, I guess, because I always run it on "default" anyway. What I am trying to say is that if yuo did anything to the new Win10 pc when you first got it (to make Rocksmith run better or othewise) do it again. Failing that the first setting I'd expermient with is Audio Exclusivity. Try it on and off.
  4. I don't mind, all my pcs run it fine but... As the old wives tale goes, it's bad luck to keep your decorations up after 5th Jan :(
  5. Download the lastest toolkit www.rscustom.net and you can add Dynamic Difficulty (DD) to anything you want with the press of a button. The quality of output does depend on the quality of input (the custom), so you might need to try a few to get something you like. Also, play about with the DD settings (I like 8 not 4) and try some stuff out to get it to your taste. Wife and step daughter playing Taylor... yeah right. Have fun :D
  6. I haven't the foggiest what you are on about, so it's safe to say I did not do any of that. Or not do it... What I did do was use a Rocksmith Import to get at the tabs in a separate instance of EoF. Then copy/pasted over. Then copy/pasted internally. That particular chord, on thinking, was a copy from the preceding D5, and I took the musical decision to change it to an E5 (by rolling the mousewheel down and hitting the down arrow). It must have come from the old .psarc. Gimme a couple of days and I will erase and manually build in EoF, see if it makes a difference. Thanks again :D
  7. Well assumption is the mother of all cock-ups... I presumed that changing fingering would solve the issue, I was wrong. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2oZs0ta32KyNlE4X3JYQmN5V1E/view?usp=sharing Check in the separate folder for the correct EoF file (although the top level one probably does it too, I didn't want to erase it in case it was needed). It is definitely EoF, as the last "E5" shows as / (repeat of previous D5) in EoF instead of E5. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2oZs0ta32KyUEQ5clNjalBSQlU/view?usp=sharing Like I said I built it using copy/paste, so its probably a copy of a D5 chord. I can't be sure, sorry. Have fun :D
  8. Sweet. It was an easy fix (delete all lyrics then re-import original file), I was just thinking that most peeps that use EoF will struggle doing that.
  9. Are lyrics supposed to move with beat markers? Cause in 12-24-15 they do. If its expected behavior fair enough, if its not I can upload some files. Also, if you make an E5 chord in 12-24-2015 2 0 and finger it like 2 - (blank) it shows up as D5 in game (copy/paste error in EoF on my part, but that's how I noticed). I'm pretty sure my files can show that too. Check the penultimate chord in Rhythm in my Auld Lang Syne. I fixed the Lead by altering fingering in EoF. Happy New Year :D
  10. I was also going to say calibration. Further to this though, make sure that during calibration you do actually thump your guitar. I found if you are wishy washy during calibration, then get all excited and start hitting the thing while playing, then acoustic tones can crackle like mad. Also, some acoustic/clean tones still crackle for me from time to time. If you ever find one you like that does not crackle, get it saved into your tone bank (2, 3, 4) and pull it out when required.
  11. Also, just buy the pc version of Rocksmith 2014 with a cable form Amazon. Custom songs and ps3s don't really get on. It's possible, but a pain in the rear by all accounts. Save yourself a lot of headaches, get the pc version. You need a pc to download (and convert to in most cases) ps3 customs anyway...
  12. Dunno if this helps but I know a reliable way of making green vertical bars. - Import 5 string bass arrangement to EoF and save - Make custom in toolkit and use the 5 string bass arrangement as your "normal" bass - Play in game, all notes on the "green" string of bass arrangement will appear as green vertical bars Like I say, dunno if it helps but it might give you some ideas.
  13. Sorry to report https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2oZs0ta32KyWVpwTlN4czJJQk0/view?usp=sharing I did try to pack 122 of my own customs... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit - tried again without the offending custom https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2oZs0ta32KybVp6SEhWOWtPSzA/view?usp=sharing Dunno what to make of it, my system memory hardly went up from idle Maybe I should try smaller packs :D
  14. At the risk of being wrong yet again :( I read that you did some work on how chord slides are imported, so that the numbering reflects the "new" way EoF wants to export chord slides. I think unpitched chord slides need updating too https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2oZs0ta32KyY2loNG80MFYyRE0/view?usp=sharing I think that the unpitched slide number should be a 3 not a 4, for the desired effect in game. I will manually change this to normal slides anyway (personal preference), but I thought I would point it out. GP file https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2oZs0ta32KyZzE3Y1llajBBZW8/view?usp=sharing And it is 12-24-2015 that I used. Thanks :D
  15. If you buy the steam version of Rocksmith 2014, the Cherub Rock official DLC (if the game does not come with it automatically), use your ps3 Rocksmith cable and follow the instructions here http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/ All should be fine and dandy :D
  16. I can run RS14 on a Toshiba Satellite. Slow as hell and all settings minimum but it works. The actual audio latency is fine, I leave it on auto and its never been an issue, but the screen (chart) lags like a mother. To compensate I use the picture timing setting (the white blip in options) but even then it just feels a bit sluggish. Yours sounds a lot newer though, as mine is an old AMD thing. Should be fine :D
  17. You guys are great :D I can live with defining myself what tracks are what, tbh I like a lot of human automation en route to customs, it gives me more time to "eh?" things. 8 slots or an over-ride... peaches :D
  18. Hi, using 2.6.1.0-59d0ee49 and I love it :D It's stable (build wise) and it does everything right. Couple of (historical) things still annoy me though... 1. It was me who suggested an effects limit of 7, seeing as that's what the game limits effects to. I could really do with 8. I am sure 8 is pretty stable, I've used them many times. Which is why 7 annoys me, when I load up old tones with 8 slots used, I can no longer use them :( I can personally guarantee that my 8 slot tones are working in game and after 1000s of downloads no one has complained. So either increase the limit to 8 or even just an arbitrary warning "Using this many tones slots may crash the game!" Let me know your thoughts, has limiting tone slots to 7 had a positive effect on the number of profiles you are fixing? 2. It's starting to grate that Real_Guitar comes in as "Rhythm" and Real_Guitar_22 comes in as Lead. Who thought of that, some Russian git??? I think its far more logical to have Real_Guitar as Lead and _22 as Rhythm. Again, thoughts? Thanks :D
  19. Yeah you can become pretty dependent on having a chart in front of you. There are, of course, ways to learn "real life" guitar from RS but you need discipline i.e. play the songs in master mode, play without looking at the screen, play while staring at your fretboard. I find the last one to be the best for me. When you play in RS songs in RL you will be looking at your fretboard thinking wtf where do I start this solo, so learn the song while looking at your fretboard. Stick on riff repeater and play the solo over and over (or parts of the solo, as required) while only looking at your fretboard. It's like learning to sing a song in a way. As long as you know the first word of a line, you can remember the line. So just remember the starting point (fret/string) of each phrase of the solo, and the rest falls into place. Takes discipline and practice, but when you hit the jam room with mates and the big solo comes and they all look at you... you will thank fk you took the time to learn the solo without a chart in your eyes :D Or at least enough to make it sound a bit like the solo
  20. Berneer you're a beast :D I like getting into things, not as OCD as this, and I gotta admire your persistence  Now get the custom made already
  21. Keyboard shortcuts save a lot of time... Note - some keyboard shortcuts do not require "Ctrl+" or "Shift+" 1) Hammer ons. Select note (also referred to as "gems") and press "H". Press "H" again to disable. Pull offs are "P". 2) Slides shortcut (with note/chord selected) is CTRL+[up Arrow] for up slides, CTRL+[Down Arrow] for slides down With single notes its pretty straightfoward, with chords some thought is required. The "slide to" fret (the number you put n the box) should be the lowest fretted string. Took me a while to work out what that was (I was used to the old way, EoF changed recently) but here is example If sliding barre chord A up to a D 7/12 7/12 5/10 then the number to put in the box is 10, because that is the lowest fret number of the final destination. If sliding things like this 5/7 4/6 5/7 then the number to put in the box is 6, because that is the lowest fret number of the final destination. 3) For palm mutes, I'm not 100% if "M" on its own will work (I honestly don't know, not saying its wrong) but I normally use CTRL+M for palm mutes SHIFT+X for string mutes (Beware of CTRL+X, its sets the fret number to 0) Taking the time to learn some keyboard shortcuts will save you tonnes of time and a heap of headaches navigating menus. Have fun :D
  22. You cannot copy and paste text into EoF for lyrics, you need to do some stuff first. Before I explain please be assured that many people, including myself, have felt your frustration. It seems like it should be easy and straightforward, but the is some learning to do. The reason you cannot just copy and paste words into EoF is because, although EoF wants a .txt file, EoF wants a special type of text file - one with timing information for the words. EoF needs to know at which point in time to place the word(s). So, technically you are importing a text file, with .txt extension and everything, it's just that it's formatted in a certain way with lots of extra info, not just the straight words. You can look on songster, but personally I just make them myself. AFTER SOME PRACTICE it should take not much longer than the length of the song to make them. Obviously there are other factors, like the quality/accuracy of the lyrics you choose to copy/paste from the internet, the complexity of the spoken words in any song (slow love songs are easier than Snoop Doggy Dogg rapping) and how many mistakes you are willing to let slide. I will type out some instructions to get you started. Be aware though that once the words are into EoF you can manipulate them further. I choose not to do this, I sync the lyrics a few times until I get a quality of sync I am happy with. I am not that much of a perfectionist. Some people do take pride in their lyrical work, and get all syllables spot on. Not me :D To get started you will need Ultrastar Creator. Go download and install it. Make sure it's "Creator" you get and not the normal Ultrastar. You will also need the guitar.ogg from your EoF project and the lyrics. Before I start please note (not just for your sake but for anyone reading this) that this is the way I do it, it's not necessarily the way other people do it. - Go to Google. Type "lyrics [artist] [songname]" and hit return - AZ Lyrics is normally top, but there are a few sites to get lyrics from - Copy the lyrics from the website and paste them into Notepad (all pcs have Notepad). Leave it handy, maybe snap it to one side of your screen - Open Ultrastar Creator and start a new file, load up the guitar.ogg from your EoF project - Unless you know the song inside out and know that the lyrics are good, do yourself a favour and play through the song once (just use USC to play it/pause it) and edit the lyrics as you go in Notepad - most internet lyrics are not 100% accurate, there could be repeated choruses, slightly different tenses ("they would" instead of "he would"). Like I said, it depends on how accurate you want to make it. This part could take 1 min, it could take 30 mins - Copy your completed lyrics into the lyrics window of USC - Start USC and tap the lyrics in to the timing of the music - STOP/START AGAIN/REPEAT until you are happy. You basically need a clean run all the way through (unless you want to mess with editing later in EoF), and it can be quite nippy. Do not be frightened to stop and start again. - Practice makes perfect, its a skill. The more songs you do the more you get fluent hitting that mouse button in time with the lyrics. Some songs are much easier than others. - Once happy save the .text file (its auto, at the end of the song USC will ask you to save) - Now in EoF use Lyric Import, and point to your USC created .txt file - Enjoy :D If you open the USC .txt file with Notepad you will see all the extra timing information, and the penny will drop as to why EoF could not just paste in blank words. It needs to know where (when) to put them. Some songs are harder than others. Don't get too hung up on it, mistakes are fine. Chances are no one will notice in game as they will be playing guitar charts. Have fun :D
  23. If you are going to look at precise select like, can there be a difference between notes with sustain and those with none? The length of sustain does not matter, only whether it has any or not. Thanks :D
  24. Had a quick mess around and it seems we are getting chord boxes (when required) at the start of handshape phrases now. Jeese I'm so far behind :( Got a complex looking picking part to work on later, lets see how far I can push it :D If anyone is interested here are some files to easily make a minute of silence custom for testing things out https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2oZs0ta32KyUGFmZjY0NGZyUFk/view?usp=sharing I am sure you can all manage without it, but I made them for myself and thought it might be handy for people to mess around with. Make what you want in EoF then quickly build and test using the files.
  25. Click and drag - my bad, wrong again :D Drinking and customing don't mix, I didn't even realise that the new white marker wasn't turning red. Because my mouse was closer to it than the previous red marker I presumed I was effecting it, but in reality I was just moving the previous red marker. Sorry :( @@Berneer - thanks for the pics. I had a hunch high density just meant repeater boxes, but I was struggling to get my heard around why repeat boxes are "high" density (and proper chord boxes are "low" density), but its just how the game calls it. I'll have a mess around myself with handshape boxes soon enough too.
