Can you throw a tribute in the mx:

The guitar intro to House of the Rising Sun is probably the most recognizable intro in the British Invasion.
RIP Hilton Valentine

RS crashed an lost the screen shot, but trust me... Sleigh Ride on Bass = 100%
I'm FreeBird, so my score doesn't matter, but for the record, Ping's score is slightly higher.
A FreeBird Christmas to all!

Hopefully @Rodmancan see it now, I'll be using this one for this week's song since Eb standard and I hate touching my floating bridge guitars for anything other than E Standard.
+1 on having instruments that don't agree with downtuning.
And cool axe BTW

Here I go again. Disappearing for months at a time, returning only to deliver bad news.
We lost another hero. RIP Dave Greenfield of The Stranglers. He was the keyboardist that defined The Stranglers' unique sound.
I just spent the last hour playing tributes of Golden Brown, No More Heros, Nice 'n Sleazy, Peaches, Skin Deep, et al. I'll try top post the screen shots when I get a moment.
No More Heros, indeed.

More bad news to the last few FreeBirds...
Ain't No Sunshine because RIP Bill Withers
The screen shot disappeared, but after all these years, when it comes to a tribute, you can trust me. Lean on Me, on bass, 97.5%

Neil Peart RIP https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/neil-peart-obit-1.5422806
Unfortunately, the only true way to drag 2groggy out of hiding is to lose one of our gods.
Having watched "This is Spinal Tap", his daughter, @@GNat, immediately commented "67, that's not bad for a drummer".
As dictated by tradition, 2groggy must now download a Rush tune and try to not embarrass himself in covering one of Geddy's bass lines and then post the result in the current week's Customs Forge Championship. 2groggy replied "in my formative years, I really was more of a punk rock, rugby and BEvERages guy. The Rush fans were the geeks that tripped on their textbooks and landed in a pile of stoners then got high on the second-hand fumes. But a tradition is a tradition. Rush are hometown heroes to us, so I'll find a track to play that both satisfies that tradition and offends the Freebird Police."

Why are the bass songs different from all others?
Because bassists play to support the song. I'll let the lead guitarists make their own excuses.
((runs away giggling, waiting to see if anyone takes the bait))
Great song selection, BTW

well some nice tunes this week, i much prefer the Cranberries version of Zombie though, i was lucky enough to see them live a few times and Dolores will be sadly missed.
after extensive tuning re-tuning and tuning again i got this,
only to realise it is not on this weeks playlist :(
That's what we call a "FreeBird moment". You just forgot to post "Take THAT FreeBird Police"

Off topic.
Intermediate songs are The Arctic Monkeys. I know that we have played other AM songs but I never really knew much about them. Yes I'm old! I noticed in the video for this week's song that they play fender guitars, yay out comes the strat. I guessed that they are from the UK, and here's why I'm posting. My favorite beer Newcastle is from the UK or it was. Then it was brewed in Holland and now in the US.
I won't be playing tonight as I have to compare and contrast Old Newcastle vs New Newcastle.
I used to drink Newcastle Brown back in my university days (I won't tell you what millennium or even decade that was), but now I find it much too sweet for my current tastes.

Have you played Tears of Clown? Man that Bass line used to kill me! I must see how I am with it this days.
I play the original Smokey Robinson version regularly, but I can't quite keep up to the Beat's version.

Off topic, as you might expect from a FreeBird.
The Toby Bass VI build is complete, with the Stranglers 45, Strange Little Girl, control plate.

I need to get adjusted to my new bass, so I'll jump in on Daft Punk this week.
First off, I just finished building this acoustic thunderbird 5 and strung it BEADG. I'm not used to the tuning, string spacing or scale, so This will take some work. so far, I'm up to 98.3%
Here's a link to the thread with picture of the bass https://www.tdpri.com/threads/2021-winter-build-off-thunderbird-5.1057864/page-6
Edit - the whole build thread is in Link # 4 of my signature VVVVVVV
