  1. @klaw: Thanks for sharing. Bolero is a good proof of concept song for Midi2RsXml program. The beat map is right on and it is fun. I had to slow the song down to about 50% speed in riff repeater in order to keep up with the notes. They be flying at you. :) Keep on experimenting. Please share any RRM files that are 40 to 80 BPM. These may be better suited for beginners. RRM can be submitted here.
  2. As the fine print says, Midi2RsXml currently supports Lead guitar note play only. Support for Rhythm (chords) and Bass are currently in development.. I am not a bass player, so if you understand the Song2014 xml files for Bass and want to contribute then please PM me.
  3. Midi2RsXml is ready for use. Convert Midi files to CDLC songs. Details are here.
  4. Off topic ... Looks like you found my new Midi2RsXml droplet application for converting Midi files into CDLC songs. Here are all details including new links.
  5. CDLC songs created with Midi2RsXml can be submitted here. Please be sure to include the RRM file and album artwork if you decide to share. Other shared RRM files can be found here.
  6. A while ago, I set my sights on developing an new application tool that could help turn ordinary Midi files into Rocksmith 2014 CDLC songs. The goal was to produce CDLC songs for beginning guitar players who are still working on note playing and timing. No advanced guitar techniques or skills needed. Midi songs are readily available and can serve as a great music source for beginning guitarist. The latest release of Midi2RsXml is Version 1.2.0 from April 8, 2015. This is a droplet application that converts Rocksmith Ready Midi Files into the files that CST uses to create a CDLC song. New support for rhythm (chords) and bass has been added. Be sure to read step 4 in the tutorial if you are interested in these arrangements. Take a Midi file, run it through Guitar Pro 5.2 or 6.0, and export a Rocksmith Ready Midi (RRM) file. Drag/Drop the RRM onto the new Midi2RsXml.exe application icon and bam ... out pops a Song2014 XML and Wem Audio files ready for CST to churn into a CDLC song. Yep, its that easy. Give it a try. Here is the link to download Midi2RsXml application and the complete "How To" tutorial. Be sure to read the tutorial a couple of times. Special thanks to all the CST Developers, Customs Forge, and beta testers, MazTor and Pc Plum and many more for making this possible. Midi2RsXml now supports Lead guitar (note play) and Rhythm guitar (chords) and Bass. No more fine print. ;)
  7. I have not seen an inverted fret notes inlay but you can make one very easily if you know a little bit of Photoshop. Here is the tutorial and the Photoshop artwork for the fret notes inlay. If you are successful at making an inverted fret notes inlay. You can send me the inlay template and I will host it.
  8. You can make your own custom inlay psarc with either CST or CGT programs. All the templates that you need to produce custom inlays can be found here. The inlay template with the fret notes is already included with CST so that may be easiest to use for you to produce your fret note inlay psarc for now. Look for the "Inlay Creator" tab in CST, then under "Saved Templates", select "Fret_Notes_Cozy1". Hit "Generate Package". It is that easy to produce a custom inlay. No need to share psarc files when you can make your own in two clicks. Give it a try. The custom inlay psarc files go in your DLC folder. I like to keep all my inlays in a separate subfolder named "inlays". The game will find them as long as they are somewhere inside your DLC folder. Have fun learning.
  9. Welcome to the community. If or when you want to learn the notes on the neck of the guitar you can install a custom guitar inlay with notes into the game. You can find a tutorial and program here for making inlays. You can also generate a custom inlay with note names from CST.
  10. When you try a CDLC that seems to have no XML's then you will be enlighten. "In my mind, this checkbox is added to unpack older CDLCs in which the XML files were not packed with."
  11. Moving CDLC to another folder after you have played is ok to do and will not hurt anything. Your game save will still contain the stats if you do decide to move the CDLC back later on to play. Make sure you don't make any changes while the game is loaded or your game save could really get messed up.
  12. These are really good observations. Method 1: I would like to incorporate into the revised tutorial. I was not aware that the tones were not being imported correctly. Thanks for pointing this out. Method 2: I was aware that "Import Package" could be used to do this. It is even better in one regard in that it gives friendly names to the WEM files, if memory serves me. Then you do not need the ACR program. Again if memory serves me I think the XML files are written the EOF folder. So it is a little different for output locations. Either way is good though as long as you can achieve what you want with it. ;) Not to disagree with anything Chlipouni said above, be sure to check the SNG to XML box if you use the current tutorial.
  13. Absolutely move those CDLC out of your DLC folder if you are not playing them. The game will load much faster depending on how many CDLC you move. Be aware that once you play a CDLC though the stat data gets written to your game save. Then the only way to really get rid of the CDLC in addition to moving it out of the DLC directory is to use the Sync feature in the Game Save Gigbox tool. This will cleanup your game save and it will load faster too. All the above is true as well if you have a lot of official DLC. Hope this helps.
  14. That checkbox has changed over the past few releases. I just looked. In 2.3 it was "Update SNG", in 2.5 it was "Extract Song Xml", and now in 2.6 it is "SNG to XML". It probably could be called "Dump All The XML Files", but the current version "SNG to XML" is pretty good. My observation is that some songs do not give up all the XML files unless this box is checked. I'm not sure about your Transcription Track question/comment, it did not jump out in the comparisons that I ran. Edit: @@Chlipouni explains it more fully here.
  15. I've have made some good progress on a new Midi2RsXml program that will be released soon. The program is geared toward producing CDLC songs for beginning guitarist who are still learning note play and timing. No advanced techniques yet. The most significant feature is easy of use. Just drag and drop a Rocksmith ready MIDI file onto the application. Midi2RsXml will produce a CST compliant Song2014 XML file along with the necessary WEM audio files (including the preview audio) all ready for packaging by CST into a CDLC song. You wont even need to open up Wwise anymore, that is a goal. Stay tuned and watch for new thread announcing the release of Midi2RsXml along with the tutorial.
  16. PM me if you are having trouble with the instructions and I will try to help you. It is not prudent to share inlay psarc files when you can build them yourself, so please don't ask others to share inlay psarc here. Since you brought that up? why does anyone care if we share inlay psarc files? sure you can build it yourself, but how is it any different to take the source files, and build it yourself. than to just share the prebuilt files? I mean as far anyone can do it themselves, anyone can build CDLC themselves as well. though it's more work. I am just curious on the difference here and why one is okay and the other isn't. Do you really want to kick the bear? Readup on Xbox Dead or Alive modding and then ask again. Not.

  18. The above custom inlay (Guitar Notes_p.psarc) is not accurate. Take a look at the 12 fret EAGDAE, should be EADGBE. The fret notes inlay here is correct. The same inlay is included and can be produced from CST 2.6. Just use the Inlay Creator menu tab feature, or you can use my CGT program to produce inlays. A full tutorial for how to make the custom guitar inlay with notes can be found here. Additional inlay templates are here. Have fun and if you decide to share inlays then share *cgm not *.psarc. 19. Here is link to Darrken's original renamer app including his link to source code.
  20. Is the problem only with "XML files for official DLC"? Are XML from CDLC ok?
  21. I was thinking of using both midi import and midi export from GP5 because it can produce midi with new guitar track and necessary (string, note) data to produce game xml file. Midi audio initially to keep process simple.
  22. @PC Plum, @aludog: So it sounds like you think chords could be a problem. What if Midi is used to produce only lead output and not chords initially? Also try GP5 for producing Midi it is much better. GP6 MIDI output must be patched to work correctly. Later on can look at chord recognition algo but could get ugly. I am studying simple lead.xml files now to see how to cross map to midi. Do you guys already have cross mapping done?
  23. Of course you can try repacking with CST if you are Charter and have source, or if the toolkit was able to unpack. But for majority repair is unlikely, because data is either missing or is corrupt.
