  1. Having fun with Driver's Seat.

Figured I'd try it on my Win11 laptop with the realtone cable and no a/b pedal - just sound from the laptop. Kinda laggy, but okay.

Edited: I followed some basic instructions on reducing lag, and the game is much better than on my Ubuntu desktop. I also skipped using the amp and just used headsets with a 3.5mm jack. Not ready to retire my main desktop yet, but it worked better on my laptop (as I'm sure everyone in this group already knows. Just took me a while to try Windows)

Hey, which distro is that? Did it take a lot work to get RS working? Last time I tried it on linux I couldn't get rid of the lag.

Lag is very noticeable. Especially on faster songs or when I have my USB headset on. I use a Bigshot ABY pedal. One output goes to an LPB1 signal booster pedal and then to my desktop. The other output goes to a chain of delay, reverb and distortion pedals then to a Fender Rumble 40 Bass amp. My Gretsch Junior Jet bass sounds pretty good through the Rumble 40, and my Tele, Junior Jet guitar and borrowed PRS sound good through the bass amp as well when I turn the mids and highs up and put it in bright mode.

I also get a delay on my windows laptop (running an I5 processor, 12 gigs memory and Win 11). So even when using my laptop when traveling I use the ABY pedal and a Katana Mini.

I'm getting pretty frustrated with running RS on Ubuntu, as I have to run Customs Forge Song Manager, Editor on Fire, Guitar Pro 7, Rocksmith Toolkit, Rocksmith Tabs Creator, and Wwise using PlayOnLinux. And they just don't interact with the game well (or at all). And if I break my install, I'm not sure I'd get them running again - I tend to not take notes.

  3. @ cacahuate51 - I normally listen to Spotify when out running errands. Normally Surf Instrumentals. Then I added in "How to Money." I started listening to your Beginner Rocksmith Challenge list. I see you have some genre lists going on as well. I'll keep an eye out for a surf/spy/spaghetti western list, Rock(smith)abilly or other fun lists. Thanks for putting yours together. I hope you get more plays.

  4. So I am trying to do a cdlc for Human Fly by The Cramps. Youtube of the song is linked below. Poison Ivy plays lead. She plays a Gretsch 6120 with heavy strings, Fender Pro Reverb amp and a Fulltone tremolo pedal. I might be able to figure that out in tones, or just misappropriate a surf tone and go with it. But I have no idea how to come close to the tone of the rhythm guitar on this track. It sounds kind of buzzy like a fly. Any suggestions?
