  1. Try this: http://requests.customsforge.com
  2. You do. The licenses for DLC are non-transferrable unfortunately. If you're patient the DLC goes on sale from time to time. The big summer sale has ended, but I think they usually do a fall season sale as well.
  3. What input are you using to connect your guitar to your iPhone? You need something like the iRig, iRig HD or iRig Pro. If not, it's just using your phone's mic, which could be why you have feedback.
  4. Read my posts again. I never said "go for Mac". I said the lack of needing a secondary audio driver was another reason why I (meaning me) was glad that I used a Mac. I also never said anything against Guitar Rig except that I found it less user-friendly than Amplitube, which was relevant to the OP because he was asking about how to use Amplitube. I also stated very clearly that I use a MB Retina and a Mac Mini. The specs are public knowledge and easy to look up. No need to list them in a thread when they aren't relevant to the topic. I own Amplitube and Guitar Rig. I prefer Amplitube because it's more user-friendly and has more official models than Guitar Rig. It's also easier to configure (works straight out of the box vs having to fiddle with various settings to get Guitar Rig to work). And you did start the Mac vs PC argument with your comments about "Big Daddy" and "censorship". Anyway, try and stay on topic next time. If you want to talk PC vs. Mac start a thread in the off-topic section and we can continue this discussion there.
  5. Why I don't like Apple and it's products? Because they consider users immature, on Ipads, you can't see that data files are stored in the subdirectory of the application, and if you erase the application... Peripherals are too expensive, same for cables. In fact all problems on Apple products have One solution : you pay the Cie, That's why it has become too big, such as influencing information. Don't put me on trial, read this and follow the bread crumbs to what lies beneath. Maybe you should read these before you claim Apple is any worse than Microsoft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Microsoft_Corp. http://yro.slashdot.org/story/14/02/12/2321228/this-isnt-the-first-time-microsofts-been-accused-of-bing-censorship Also, google "Microsoft Censorship" and read about how they censor internet search results, including on-going censorship in China. At least Apple only censors what it sells in it's own ecosystem (iTunes store, App store, etc) and complies with government censorship laws. Anyway, this topic is about Amplitube, not Mac vs. PC.
  6. As with all previous versions, some things work, some don't. Packing/unpacking has always been hit or miss. However, they've all opened previously, and converting PC to Mac usually works fine (except when the actual custom has a problem). AppID updating works fine in previous versions as well.
  7. The latest version of the Toolkit won't open on Mac. Just bounces in the dock for about 10 minutes until it pops up and asks for the admin password to take control of another process for debugging. Previous version works just fine. Doesn't matter much to me (since all I do is convert files with it), but I thought I would let you know.
  8. I prefer using Session Mode for learning scales. You get the graphical representation of each scale on your screen, plus you're free to play whatever you want. You don't need to constantly watch the screen to play along with an arcade game style of "lesson". You can also switch scales and move up and down the fretboard whenever you like. I know a lot of people dislike Session Mode because it can sound bad when you first start, but once you get into a good groove the "band" plays along with you really well and you can feed off of each other. Plus you can express yourself musically and work on your own fingering techniques instead of what the arcade games tell you to do.
  9. There's no "Big Daddy" telling me where to store files, or what applications I can and cannot use. If you don't like Macs, just say you don't like Macs. Don't make stuff up to support an argument that doesn't need to be made.
  10. I guess yet another good reason to use a Mac. I don't need ASIO4all. Amplitube works perfectly out of the box on both my Macbook Retina and my Mac Mini.
  11. Have you tried reducing the buffer and checking the gain settings? Also, have you rebooted your computer since installing Amplitube? Depending on the specs of your computer, you may have to close other applications to free up resources for Amplitube as well. Also, make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your sound card on your computer.
  12. All we need now is Dead and Gone and we have the whole El Camino track list. :)
  13. You want the buffer to be as small as possible. Mine is set to 128. Check the Master output level, and the gain settings inside Amplitube if you're getting a lot of static. Also check the device settings for your real tone cable (Windows settings). You don't need to use ASIO4all. I don't use it. Also, Guitar Rig 5 is incredibly non-user friendly and is in my opinion nowhere near as good as Amplitube. But everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
  14. There are a bunch of settings you can fool around with to make sure the Tronical is as accurate as possible. The default accuracy settings is +/- 2.5 cent. Here's the official pdf instruction manual/guide for your reference: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/77873575/Tronical_Manual_2.12eng.pdf If it's accurate to a digital tuning pedal, as well as a piano than I would assume it's calibrated correctly. However, it could be string interference that's causing problems with Rocksmith. Check out pages 27-37 of that manual and see if any of those settings makes a difference.
  15. Yeah, Custom Shop is where you buy all the gear for Amplitube.
  16. The Stealthplug is essentially a realtone cable with a headphone jack on the side of it. You can use it, but there are easier and probably cheaper ways to do it. If your computer has a headphone jack, or an audio out port, you can use that to connect to your amp. Depending on the model of your fender amp, you might need a small converter to convert the 1/8" audio cable to a 1/4" size. If you have a Mustang 1/2/3 amp or any amp with an AUX input, then you wouldn't need the converter. Here's a picture of the kind of adapter I'm talking about (they're like $1-5, depending on where you buy them): http://www.computercableinc.com/ccinc/images/ADAPTER-Audio-3-5mm-Female-to-2-1-4-inchMale-CWholesale-30S1-02300.jpg So then all you would need is an audio cable that is long enough to go from your computer to your amp, and your Rocksmith realtone cable. That's how I got started.
  17. You can use your Rocksmith realtone cable, and you wouldn't need any pedals to start. They sell optional "accessories" like the stealth pedal (acts like a wah pedal or volume pedal), the iRig Blueboard (acts like a 4 pedal pedalboard, where you can assign each button on the Blueboard to control a pedal inside Amplitube), and some other accessories. None of the accessories are needed to start though, as everything can be controlled with your keyboard and mouse. I would suggest starting with Amplitube 3, as it contains all of the other versions of Amplitube (Amplitube Fender, Amplitube Metal, Amplitube Jimi Hendrix, etc). If you download it you can try it free for either 9 or 11 days (I can't remember which) so you can check it out with no commitment. I can send you a pdf book that I downloaded that runs through Amplitube 3 and all of it's amp and effect models. It explains a lot of how it works (it helped me a lot) and tells you what the real-world equivalent of some of the pedals inside Amplitube are. A lot of the effects pedals are renamed so they don't have to worry about patent infringement. Check out these videos as well, they might give you some better insight:
  18. Have you tried re-applying the Cherub Rock AppID, or repacking it? That works sometimes. They may also just be conflicting with another custom in your folder. Try removing all of your other customs except that ones that don't work now, and see if they work. If so, keep adding your other customs back a few at a time until you figure out which one(s) are causing the conflict. I know which ones are causing the conflict, i tried repacking Shoot To Thrill but it was useless and it didn't work What I meant was that Shoot To Thrill, and the other new customs you just downloaded that aren't working, may be conflicting with other customs you already had.
  19. Do you have decent speakers on the computer you play Rocksmith on? If you just want to do some experimenting without shelling out a lot of money, I would suggest looking into Amplitube 3. It has tons of amp models, cabinets, and pedal effects. I almost never play through my amp any more, because it was becoming a pain to constantly change pedal configurations and move stuff around. I also only own a few pedals and didn't want to shell out 250-300 for a multi-effect pedal. With Amplitube I have dozens of presets saved and I can move from sound to sound with a few mouse clicks. I also have the iRig Blueboard, which is a bluetooth pedal board with 4 buttons that can be used to turn effects on/off, as well as to switch through presets.
  20. Have you tried re-applying the Cherub Rock AppID, or repacking it? That works sometimes. They may also just be conflicting with another custom in your folder. 21. Yeah, it usually adjusts based on skill. That's why it's weird, because I'm definitely better than 0%. And like I said, it's only been happening in the last week and only on newly released customs. By the way, I only mentioned your name and songs because they were specific examples I could think of off the top of my head. I didn't mean to imply that there was anything wrong with them or your work. Some of Hzredwing's songs have done it as well, but only the one's he has posted this week (Run Right Back and Hell of a Season). But obviously there is something going on, because you and I both play on Mac and it happens to me and not to you. So I'll have to do some more digging to try and find an answer.
  22. Yeah, there's no problem with them ramping up. But they start at 0%, which means that there are 0 notes to play, and no way to ramp up. You have to use RR to manually raise the difficulty. And as I said, it's new problem that has only started in the last week. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the last Toolkit update. Old customs that were posted prior to last week, that I just downloaded today, don't have that problem. I usually download non-DD versions of songs I know won't be hard, but not everybody does non-DD versions.
  23. In the gaming industry DLC falls under a different type of licensing agreement because of the way it's purchased and the way the royalties are paid out. As it pertains to Rocksmith, the song licenses can be negotiated as a one-time fee, or as a per-download royalty. DLC can be carried forward because the licensing agreements are structured differently and can be extended beyond the original game and time frame they were created for. Essentially, the game developer just has to pay more money to the people who hold the rights. So in essence, rather than recreating all of the RS1 on-disc songs as DLC (and re-negotiating new licensing agreements), then making you purchase each one for $2.99, you get a better deal by paying $10 to get them all. Ubisoft had to pay a smaller fee to extend the licenses to RS2014 and they pass that "savings" on to the end user. In Rock Band, some Metallica songs were pulled off of the RB store because their licensing agreements had expired and Metallica (or more specifically their representatives) chose not to extend the agreements. If you already owned that DLC it had no affect on you, but it could no longer be purchased by new users.
  24. It doesn't have anything to do with copyright. It has to do with the commercial licenses for the songs. When Ubisoft created RS1, they signed a commercial license to use the in-game songs in RS1 only. In order to use them in RS2014, you have to pay a new licensing fee. This deal is arranged by the companies that hold the rights to the music, not Ubisoft. It's done this way so that game developers (or whoever buys a license, for many different purposes) cannot use that music in any other way except what was intended in the original agreement without paying extra for it. So if Ubisoft buys a license for a song, they cannot use that song in another game they make. Whether it be another music game, or any other kind of game. So even though we all consider RS2014 to be a sequel to RS1, in a legal sense it is not. It is a completely different game, and has a completely different license. The Rock Band titles all worked the exact same way. Any on-disc songs had to be re-licensed to be playable in future "editions" of the game. DLC can be carried over because it falls under a different type of licensing agreement and the royalties are paid out differently.
  25. I don't think this is the same thing as the issue caused by the .dll file. I've been experiencing the same thing on all customs put out in the last week. I play on Mac, so I'm not affected by the same .dll issue. Prior to last week, most customs would start at anywhere between 35-80% as normal. However, since last week, all new customs I add are starting at 0%. So basically almost no notes show up at all. Off the top of my head, the new 3 pack of Black Keys songs that @@Brooklyn_Sounds just uploaded, as well as most of the recent Weezer tracks all had the issue. I "spoke" to @@Brooklyn_Sounds about it, and he said they all played fine on his end and I used the Mac versions he posted himself. So I'm not sure what could be causing it on my end. The only thing that I've changed in the last week was updating Steam. Official DLC works fine, I purchased the No Doubt pack when it was released and they all started at random, seemingly normal, difficulty percentages.
