  1. What a week... That ´tallica Album alone deserves multiple plays in any path, phhh ... but it´s only week 1 of 4 there, so we should manage that.

And, that promising GD track comes in multitrack version, yay - i encourage everyone to dl those and experience how scary it feels all alone out there.

Rock, Rod. And have a helluva week.

I get what you mean but honestly last week's advanced on lead was definetly too hard for me it would take alot of time on RR to get it right and I still have my songs that i want to work on in the time i get to play...

bump me up to advanced on rhythm even tho i really dont like the grateful dead song... And if I feel INT on lead isnt too challenging this week I'll move up mid week

Thanks for the encouragement to challenge myself 😉 the championship IS good for you 😛

    Yes it is 😉

Whoo, that´s the spirit! Welcome to Rhy Adv. Tell us whenever you wanna level in Lead. If you are done with your song you still can compete in any higher class without upleveling, but you know that.

    Rock!

man its hard to play guitar after playing bass, btw do you guys frown upon playing fingerpick bass songs with a pick?

For me bass is fingerpicking, i never use a pick. I encourage evryone to try that 😉

You can use a pick whenever you want of course.

    41333618ud.jpg

    let´s try that

    41333619ly.jpg

that´s a great tool, must protect my eyes!!!
I suppose i can use the routed walls now as margins... that will be even more precise as i will have the flat of the bodyfront

    41333621wv.jpg
    looks ok, let´s test

    41333622wo.jpg
ultratight - as expected and as wanted

    41333623tw.jpg

    41333625uf.jpg

    measure, measure, then go deeper

    41333626an.jpg

    41333628cv.jpg
    nearly there i think

    41333630tb.jpg

    cornerwork

    41333631cc.jpg
    a lil more cornerwork needed

    41333632oz.jpg

    41333633fj.jpg

    41333634ea.jpg
that scrapers are soo cool tools - no sawdust, perfect planing, you are able to take away a lot of material in every pass and still work ultraprecise... and they are very cheap (like 6€)

    41333635dw.jpg

    hah

    41333636vj.jpg
    that! is a joint

    41333637ub.jpg

    41333638bu.jpg

    41333639kw.jpg
    unbelievable

    41333640wz.jpg
    i´m holding something

    41333641ek.jpg
that undeniably looks a bit like a e-guitar

    41333642cv.jpg

    more than happy

  5. Ok... but what i can do all night is work on my fretboad, yay....

More sanding... so ... i like 12" radius... so.....going compound 10-14 will be the perfect and hard way... let´s bring that to sleep

    41327046rd.jpg

    thats 2 yes

    41327047bv.jpg

I love the round edges of my strat ultra fretboard - gotta go for that, starting with 40gr on my now handle-modified piece of stone

    41327048we.jpg

    going in the right direction

    41327049sg.jpg

continuing with my version of a leveling beam, 120gr

    41327050rk.jpg

    41327051ub.jpg

    41327052iu.jpg

Pah.... what a picture, i think í´ll upload that on my photo frame

    41327053ei.jpg

coffee and i was thinking glueing the connection between neck and fb from the side will fill possible tiny leftout spaces, but i don´t really know if it makes the slightest visible difference, however it will take 10 mins and can in no way harm.... let´s go

  6. Neck Pocket is next.... no idea if there is something that is really to be done or to avoid here...
I think whats really needed is a good centerline matching neck and body

    creating that and checking

    41327029de.jpg

looks ok, so marking the outlines with a sharp blade (though it was not really sharp anymore)

    41327030fr.jpg

i was thinking of creating a template for that routing job, but then decided against, cause it would be only usable on that guitar and a lot work to create... so i was thinking of just creating a temporary wooden wall with masking tape and super glue

    41327031lb.jpg

well... the walls of my neckend are straight in all directions, but measuring is not 100% ... and how precise is routing a wall? Never done anything like that before... the trussrodchannel with the tiny 6mm routing bit was quite precise...
So.... as that joint is THE thing that gives the instrument to be the stability i decided to make that routing margins really tight, knowing and already being massively annoyed that it will be a tad too tight and will need manual widening until perfect fit.... if that will be better than just going exact sice in first place.... time will tell.

    41327032ca.jpg

    2/3 walls

    41327033bf.jpg

test ... doesn´t look all too bad

    41327034wb.jpg

    41327035vj.jpg

    now really in level

    41327037ko.jpg

Phh... that bit is in another league compared to the trussrod-one

If i understand right the circle shall hit the walls and thus lead to a wall like cut

    41327038uj.jpg

Deciding to do some pre-work with a drill, way less scary

    41327039nd.jpg

    41327040rf.jpg

    41327041og.jpg

    41327042fk.jpg

41327043vp.jpgOk.... routing is way too loud for midnight 😉 ..... rescheduling

  7.

    Thinking and measuring neck-break angle...
I thought that would best be done by try stringing
    41327023zh.jpg

and yes.. my breakangle with bridge stringheight adjustable from 9-12mm, the 6.5-7.8mm fretboard, 1.4-1.6mm frets and low action gives me a breakangle of 0.00°

    41327024sj.jpg

that should be ok, and in case of fire i should still be able to do minimal adjustments on either side... on the nut-side obviously and on the bridge side, lower is planing, higher is less planing or in the worst case put a piece of wood under the bridge, n.p.

    41327025oc.jpg

    41327026ud.jpg

my newest tool - how could i live without???? sooo handy
