  1. Hope Christmas was great for you guys! I got an acoustic guitar strap and a nice big monitor to play Rocksmith on. Pretty busy this week, but I got a few more plays in! http://i.imgur.com/kBzU4bI.jpg Even though I played the chorus riff really well this run, which is the hardest bit for me, I fumbled a whole bar of chords in the bridge, and that's usually a section I play perfectly. I think I can go even higher on this after some rest. http://i.imgur.com/vvDvhxy.jpg I tried to pass this on SA twice to no avail. :( It really isn't going to happen unless I RR the hell out of that solo. But there's a couple % up in LAS, at least.
  2. One of those no sleep, but improved anyway days. http://i.imgur.com/PLefiy4.jpg There's really only three riffs in this. The sixteenths on A string are easy, the bridge chords I do well enough, but that chorus riff is just super tiring and I don't have the stamina to not trip up on it yet. Definitely a RR song. http://i.imgur.com/W2xsEjr.jpg God I love this song. Maybe I'll even learn the solo. Bonus mandolin score! http://i.imgur.com/6w4lpnD.jpg
  3. Are the songs getting easier, or are you just getting better?! ;) I got a lot of chill time tonight, and lots of energy to burn. So of course I spent it on my axe! http://i.imgur.com/rguOItm.jpg This has always been one of my favourite Christmas songs, even when I was too young to realise it was about the Vietnam War. Never thought I'd be able to play it so well off the cuff like this, but the chord shapes were all familliar, and this contest is getting me damn good at sight reading music. :D http://i.imgur.com/Vs1V8qw.jpg I like Judas Priest, but I've never heard anything from this album before. Was TOTALLY blown away. That fade-in into the scream... what an intro! New favourite Priest song. I also played Losing my Religion, but I jammed out too hard in the menu and missed my chance to screenshot. Whatever, guess I'll just play it again! :P
  4. Here's my first go on advanced. I accidentally wiped my save data this week ( ;____; ), so don't be fooled by the 1 playcount - I've definitely played this song 4-5 times already, so I was quite familiar! http://i.imgur.com/ffrG5j3.jpg
  5. @ giving me a motive to keep playing this damn song! I think I'm ready for SA, here's hoping I wake up before next week gets posted. http://i.imgur.com/1Yf2tfu.jpg
  6. http://i.imgur.com/O3DcdX8.jpg That was a way better number than I was expecting after all the silly combo drops in the chorus and verse. Made up for it in the solos, I guess!
  7. Second runs! Barely slept, not sure how I pulled these off, but I guess even just a couple REM cycles of letting these bounce around in my head lead to some improvement. http://i.imgur.com/BqPPleE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JQv3UpU.jpg
  8. @ Glad to have you submitting lead scores again! Advanced lead has been quiet the past few weeks, I like having competition to keep me sharp. http://i.imgur.com/oxUVC4x.jpg I feel like nothing in this song was too difficult mechanically, but the difficulty is in the fact that the whole thing is really improvised. There's a few repeating melodies, but for the most part, he's making new things up the entire time. Tricky, but doable! http://i.imgur.com/lPpspuK.jpg Refreshing to have an MC song that I can score more than 80% on this week. :P
  9. Finally broke 90 on Uncle Tom's Cabin! http://i.imgur.com/Rb4LyAM.jpg I also gave Bliss a try. Never played it before, but I know the song super well, as Muse is one of my favourite bands~ http://i.imgur.com/fcuzaTB.jpg
  10. @@NoonyDeloony Two days of hangover?! :o That must have been a lot of alcohol! I'm usually done being hungover by the next afternoon. Do you drink water as you drink? That takes the edge off of the next day, I find! Improvements! I'm starting to groove on this Warrant song. Which is funny, because Cherry Pie, the only other song of theirs I know, drove me insane. ;) http://i.imgur.com/5y1tcgi.jpg And I know know know I can do 80 on this. I think I was doing about 80 this run until I choked hard on the last couple solos. I'm going to aim for 85. There's a lot of song here to learn! http://i.imgur.com/utW4a1K.jpg
  11. Much better on the Adv lead now that I knew what I was getting into! That first riff isn't so bad after all. http://i.imgur.com/fsBcKh2.jpg
  12. Here's some first runs! Well, actually, only the Warrant song is a real first run... the other two I've had experience with. http://i.imgur.com/chi5epE.jpg As mentioned, I already learned the hell out of this tune 1-2 years ago, so this score came easy. I might even be able to 100% it! http://i.imgur.com/zMoiLbn.jpg Buckethead!! I'm so far from doing this song perfectly, but this was score still +14% from the last time I played it. Surprisingly, I can actually nail a few of the most insane sounding parts of the solos in this. Maybe I'll actually break 80 on MC this week?! http://i.imgur.com/Q2otnuA.jpg And lastly, Warrant, a band I only know for Cherry Pie in GH2, with a song that's not Cherry Pie I've never heard before. It's alright, I suppose! I think my next run will be way better now that I know what to expect.
  13. Not only do I get a song I picked, but my favourite RATM tune! I haven't had the custom for Killing in the Name Of very long, but I learned this song on my own forever ago before I knew customs even existed. Maybe I'll tidy up a bit and give video another go! Alright Steve Vai week is over, we can relax, right? Nope. I can't wait to suck at Buckethead, too!
  14. It's been fun, Intermediate people! I can't believe it, but I guess I'm Advanced level now. http://i.imgur.com/DtgNeX7.jpg Also, since there's a drought and all, here's a video! It's not very good... my computer is terrible, so I had to record externally with a laptop - forgive me for windtunnel audio! I hope I am pretty enough to make up for it. I technically captured the 99% run too, but the audio is wayyyyy worse. :(
  15. And one last small + on Deathray! This took a TON of restarts. http://i.imgur.com/ltuGUNh.jpg
  16. I did a couple +1s today! http://i.imgur.com/QPhJLqj.jpg I think I can do the solos well enough in SA now. I'm still a little sketchy on that high part, but the rest I've got on lock. My other +1 was on Steve Vai, but since I'm only at 70% for that and I intend on breaking 80, I didn't screenshot it. But it totally happened!
  17. My first week or two here, I played both the lead and rhythm charts. But lately, I'm trying to just focus on my shredding, so I've been spending most of my time in Lead charts, especially for the purpose of the Championship. Sometimes I'll play rhythm charts for pleasure, but my heart's in lead!
  18. I picked up the first Rocksmith as a Christmas present in 2011. At that point, I knew nothing whatsoever about guitar. I was experienced musically, I had been a drummer in touring bands, but a guitar in my hands felt totally foreign and I had no idea what to do with it. Started plugging away on Rocksmith to change that. I've been pretty consistently playing it ever since I got it, but I got a lot more serious when Rocksmith 2014 dropped. Since then, I've played almost every day, for anywhere between 15 minutes and 3 hours. Here I am 3 years later! I supplemented my learning with Youtube videos and such but for the most part, I'm Rocksmith trained.
  19. Did a Score Attack on Deathray. Drank coffee this time to appease the Ziltodian overlords, to great success. http://i.imgur.com/wwIfdEF.jpg
  20. Here's an update on my Maiden score, too: http://i.imgur.com/SQj6lHB.jpg Tried to pass it in Score Attack, but... I fail all the solo parts! Guess I'll have to - *sigh* - learn the solos. :P
  21. My guitar (Hagstrom Ultra Swede) takes low tunings pretty well. No settle in time or anything when I loosen my strings for brutal, I just tune and go. Versatile little bugger! I like Devin Townsend's Ziltoid album, but never quite listened to the second. I had a little sticky icky and a bold tea, and then this second try happened on Deathray: http://i.imgur.com/J5ZRRkm.jpg Performance enhancing drugs, baby! B)
  22. Came home exhausted but really in the mood to guitar, luckily the mood was enough to overpower the fatigue and I bumped my scores up a bit. http://i.imgur.com/c3sZ6Ah.jpg http://i.imgur.com/16Dm2Ob.jpg Aiming for 80 with Steve Vai's ditty, I think I can crack it. Oh, and I tuned down for Deathray and gave it a go, too! http://i.imgur.com/XvtPTTL.jpg
  23. Yeah, that riff wasn't so bad once I was ready for it! That solo, though... http://i.imgur.com/gGjA7ba.jpg
