  1. http://i.imgur.com/p7QR9MH.jpg ...Yup, that's a master class song alright! I think I might be able to manage 85 on it. We'll see. This might end up the song I work on the hardest this week.
  2. To start the week off, here's a run on lead The Offspring: http://i.imgur.com/taxQSpw.jpg Much like Juular, this was my first play on this song in a very long while.
  3. Oh wow, the Da Capo challenge is for the first song I ever played in the competition. Have I really been here over a year now?
  4. Got 95.5 in SA. Tried to get at least 96 in SA. Failed out three times. http://i.imgur.com/6CnVXrV.jpg I didn't need that .3 anyway.
  5. I lied. I didn't play Judas Priest at all tonight. Instead I made a video of Graveyard. This one's proper, with good playing and good levels!
  6. It's Friday and I haven't even touched the MC. :sob: This has been a pretty casual week for me. Having the late start really hurting me. I'm gonna go hard on Judas Priest tonight. I think I can 97. Let's see!
  7. Video fixed! Closet door remains only partially closed over, though slightly more than in prior videos.
  8. I played Juular once just for giggles. There is no screenshot - the only evidence that it happened is this recording I did for some reason, where I sightread it apparently 40 weeks after scoring 95% on it and only manage... well, not that much. Sound sucks, too. :P I don't know why anyone would watch it! But if you really like hand contortion, here you go: I was being pretty dry about the "excellent performance", I was hoping I'd at least manage 90. Forgot how much work learning this song is, haha.
  9. http://i.imgur.com/6YBu9lR.jpg Failed right before the last two chords. This solo is way easier to strike on than most solos... No strikes on Maztor?! :o You're packing heat this week! But watch out - I might post a goodie next time!
  10. Still got a few days! And don't worry too hard about making 100%, you sound good and that's what matters. :D
  11. Adv sightread: http://i.imgur.com/7imvAPt.jpg Wow! One of those "I don't even know what I'm supposed to be playing, how am I hitting all this?" runs.
  12. http://i.imgur.com/x2CmT3O.jpg Here's one more run on this awesome intermediate song before I go back to E. Was pretty consistent at the riff but didn't do as well on the solo this time. :( I gotta say, the drummer really makes this song. Every musician in the band is really good, but that is one quality skin smacker. Time to go retune and get started on the songs that are actually my class! :D
  13. Graveyard was totally new to me, too. I just sightread it: http://i.imgur.com/DOuRn5K.jpg Enjoyable play, enjoyable listen. Reminds me of a less metal, more psychedelic Red Fang. @@NoonyDeloony , your videos are really coming along lately! Your groove is a lot smoother and you have really consistent tempo. Nice costume, too! I should have dressed as Papa Emiritus.... :P
  14. Happy Halloween, friends! Here's a spooky video. You know this tune! I've got company from out of town so I won't be posting any scores for a bit.
  15. Good call here, haha. :D Made my last post before playing today and was at the town right before the trial. Now I took the elevator down and I'm at the save point (presumably) right before the boss.
  16. You're further than me, and I've put fifteen hours in! I'm a big fan of Tales games, and this one is a nice surprise in a lot of ways. The combat system is even better than usual (which is saying something) and the game looks/sounds beautiful. So many guitar solos on the soundtrack! I'm also impressed with a lot of the new programming touches - having a pristinely done PC port, using your immediate area as the combat arena, conversations not being interrupted by changing areas or even entering combat - just a lot of really smart choices made by their dev team. I feel though that this is catered to a less hardcore audience than usual. I'm on the hardest difficulty, and one of the monoliths points out that if you play the game right it can be even easier than the other difficulties. It really is! Reduced XP doesn't make the game HARDER, exactly - it just means you have to grind more. I really wish hard mode made enemies hit harder or have extra HP or something. And I don't like how linear the game is. This "follow the beacon on your minimap" trend in games lately bothers me, and it feels extra condescending in a game where the only options for where to go are forwards and backwards. Overall, it's no Symphonia, but its strengths are so good that I still find it really addicting. It's on par with Vesperia for me. @@Sargas94 Bienvenue! :D Those >99% scores already level you up to Intermediate! You should try the A Day to Remember song if your strings don't mind being in D drop C.
  17. Ended up playing a little for pleasure in E, and if Maiden's on the list I have to hit it up: http://i.imgur.com/hBPIxgM.jpg I love this solo so much. Maiden in their prime. Have yet to try the new chart, looking forward to it. This is already in great shape, and it gets even better?
  18. Seriously! I thought my >97 would at least keep me at the top through this afternoon! I jammed a bunch today, so I'm musicked out for now. I want to just chill out and play some Tales of Zestiria tonight. You win this round, @...!! :D Re: Replacing strings, I can't help but replace my strings all the time... I break my high E once every month or two. :sob: I'm so bad that I buy multiple sets at a time now. I can't help it, I play hard...
  19. Fixed 'em! :D http://i.imgur.com/StBrYDb.jpg Just had to cut all the gain out of my tone and Rocksmith could find those green strings I was hitting. Didn't sound very rockin', but gotta do whatever it takes to keep up with you lads.
  20. http://i.imgur.com/I0IIGb0.jpg Well, I'm in the D neighbourhood, might as well play this. Honestly, I don't like A Day to Remember at all. But this was surprisingly fun to play in spite of the fact that I didn't enjoy what was coming out of my speakers. Time to go twiddle knobs and flick switches until my Ghost recognition problems are exorcised!
  21. http://i.imgur.com/EPpOTJj.jpg Almost every time I've played this song, I kept feeling like I was getting at least 95. It took me doing it in Score Attack to figure out why - I get super bad recognition issues if I play the chorus the way it's meant to be played. If I sustain every note in the chord like in the song, almost every single note on the A string gets missed. If I mute before each note, it recognises fine, but then it ruins the riff. :(
  22. Got a head start on this week's Advanced, what with all the being obsessed with Ghost I did last week: http://i.imgur.com/T34SyE7.jpg This is off the album I like the least, but it's one of the best tracks on it. Got a cool 3/4 thing going that gives it an eerie carnival feel. Because so much of it is crazy octave chord sustains all over the neck, it's kind of tricky to score well on, but I think it's a pretty simple Advanced song on the whole.
  23. Ended up pretty busy all week. Here's a score to show I'm not dead! http://i.imgur.com/IzzsJiS.jpg I know I said I'd make a video of this, but I'm actually not proud of my tone in this song and I ended up too busy to fine-tune it. I can't get the C string chords sounding right at all.
  24. This will forever be the week in my mind where all I do is record a video of the Int Lead and stay in D Standard the whole week because I love Ghost and there are all of these great Ghost charts available. Still toiling away at Chop Suey. 95ish% right now but I want to get it up to 97 before I post about it again.
  25. I am the worst, I'm always busy on your guys birthdays. Merry birthmas, Mortalo! Belated birthmas to Motive and Monsta!
