  1. Getting my ass kicked by a cold, but I can try to kick some ass anyway. http://i.imgur.com/BzhNwzQ.jpg Most of this song is pretty simple and repetitive, but that solo is pretty tricky for Advanced class...
  2. HIGH COUNTRY TRACK? *immediately tunes down* http://i.imgur.com/FAP9JvB.png http://i.imgur.com/Yo2RNmH.png
  3. Tired as hell, had a really stressful weekend with a friend going through medical crisis. All reasoning would suggest I should suck right now... but I'm on fire. :godmode: Songs I've never heard before?! Let them come! http://i.imgur.com/lg8O4rb.png Absolutely love this song. So catchy! Such fun licks! Gamut approves. http://i.imgur.com/sgHynCQ.png Kinda repetitive for me. Not one of my favourite Rush songs.
  4. Just kidding! My company's late, so let's throw ourselves at Machine Head a few more times. http://i.imgur.com/jYf7YyJ.png For some reason, today I can do all the hard parts, but I bork the hook slides every time.
  5. http://i.imgur.com/q1H4gOT.png Here's a quickie on the Adv. Not enough time to tryhard this week, I'm afraid. :sob: Might squeeze out one more MC score if I'm lucky, but this is probably it for me.
  6. Awww Noony!! :( All that first stuff can totally lead to the last thing. I find to really play my best, I have to be in a good state of mind with no distractions, otherwise my brain will just meander off mid song. My problems absolutely distract me and make me play worse. And likewise, it's only when things are going REALLY good, when I am loving life, that I can perform my best. Chin up, eh? We'll make it! <3
  7. Let's put that subwoofer to work. http://i.imgur.com/AsEbj1m.png So this is has been my favourite Ghost song since forever. I've even recorded a video already! Kind of want to rerecord with my new soloing abilities, but this isn't too shabby for year-ago Gamut. http://i.imgur.com/2NtI9Zh.png And Machine Head that I've never heard before! LOVE this song. >< Gonna feel good to put a lot of effort into it. This is my kind of playstyle, too - gonna try for high 90s.
  8. Couple tiny servings of improvements on the hard stuff: http://i.imgur.com/MRXicbW.png Even though this song is great and a solid challenge, I'm finding myself less inclined to play this file because it's pretty inaccurate and I hate the tone. :sob: http://i.imgur.com/XgNwWBH.png Did that 91 on my second attempt, but I forgot to screenshot. Whoops. I keep tying myself on Colors, but I think I can make it to at least 96 if I really go hard at it tomorrow. Having so much fun with it that I might even try to resurrect my laptop and record my first video in forever?!
  9. Let's practice the solo! http://i.imgur.com/W96KEH4.png Still got a lot of refinement ahead of me, but it's coming together.
  10. It's another anime theme song pick by Gamut! Anime theme songs are a great place to find quality guitar wankery. http://i.imgur.com/dR0c09W.png Colors is SUPER CATCHY. I love those trumpets. I initially thought this was an MC pick. It looks kind of intimidating at first - until you realise that the guitarist is just doing the same chord progression over and over again with small variations. This song gets a lot easier once you slow it down in RR and process it. As you can see, I've played it a couple of times before this week, but it's always been a pleasure play and never a song I've put serious effort into learning. Now I have an excuse to! *tryhard face*
  11. Absolutely exhausted sightreads! Here we gooooo! http://i.imgur.com/QImYnvp.png Both of these songs have the same thing going on - I know the songs extremely well, and therefore it is not too bad figuring out where to put my fingers on the fly, even though I've never played them on guitar before. Stadium Arcadium is my favourite RHCP album of all time, and this song is a zenith showing of their sound. John Frusciante is a god and this song feels holy to play. http://i.imgur.com/Ngqau96.png And speaking of gods! Love me some Slash. What a great week. This song is surprisingly not as hard as I thought it'd be (most of the time). There are some pretty quick melodies that will take some learning, but a lot of these riffs I could just do off the bat. I would say this might not even be a true 10? Sure, there's a couple more solos than the typical MC tune, but at no point in this song do I feel the GoG hopelessness, those moments where my brain can't even hold all the notes. That never really happens in this song. I don't get lost in Paradise City. I'll post about my pick later! Let's just say I'm pretty familiar with it. A night's rest, then back at it!
  12. JIBUN WO! Hope you like arpeggios, advanced lead players. RNG's been treating me a lot better lately. This is what, my third pick in a month? From famine to feast! Rest of the week looks super solid too, got some classic material to play.
  13. Not enough time for hard work on this week, but here's one more nudge on Fripp's tune, anyway: http://i.imgur.com/vT8oyJo.png
  14. http://i.imgur.com/eQNySMp.png Probably not the best idea to do my second play with no lead, but I did it anyway. The riffs are pretty easy to score on in Rocksmith, but less easy to get sounding crisp. Bluesy-style playing isn't really my forté, but I think I can get up to 98 eventually this week. It's pretty awesome that you release customs of your own tunes, Fripp! :D When I finish some new material I've gotta make some CDLC of it too. http://i.imgur.com/XHPcjHC.png This song is so bloody catchy.. Riffwise, it's like a Beginner song except a little faster, and "a beginner song except X" is exactly what makes a good Intermediate pick. http://i.imgur.com/UgTBU8b.png *scores the same on Beginner as on MC* The cheesiest lyrics, but early Evanescence is best Evanescence.
  15. Happy Easter! Break me off a few pieces of that new week. http://i.imgur.com/tzIXpjp.png http://i.imgur.com/h9gI1Vz.png
  16. http://i.imgur.com/TmroOJI.png This is further than I thought I'd be able to fight?! Didn't know I had it in me.
  17. http://i.imgur.com/1kbpWzh.png The battle rages on. Just me and Joker? So quiet in MC lead this week...
  18. Just kidding! Finally managed to juice another % out of the Final Fantasy song. http://i.imgur.com/ZZ9gfwk.png Next time: Learning the solos?! 95?!
  19. http://i.imgur.com/YNPBNEd.png Radiohead totally jacked this hook for Just. I wish I didn't have to turn my guitar volume down 50% to hear this song. I might come back for 99%? But probably I'm just gonna keep scoring 92% on To Those Who Fight Further.
  20. I keep scoring 92% on Those Who Fight Further over and over! http://i.imgur.com/1eEuLz2.png I super borked the bridge or this'd be 100%. :sob:
  21. @@domsch1988 I agree with Mortalo. Generally you're trying to establish muscle memory, and the best thing you can do for that is do all the same motions at a speed that you can produce them reliably, then speed up as you get the hang of it. That said! If I'm playing through a song and a part comes up with so many notes that my brain can't hold them all, I will "level down" the difficulty in my head - that is, I will pick out a handful of the important notes and be sure to play them correctly. This method is a really helpful for learning sweeping, tapping, or weird chords.
  22. http://i.imgur.com/sS67vDY.png So as other MC players have surely noticed, this chart isn't exactly perfect. Mutes aren't in the custom for some reason, and a couple of other techniques are also omitted. But it's close enough that it's good fun anyway. :D http://i.imgur.com/qvKl4qQ.png Had to restart this one a couple times before my brain would digest all these weird grooves and time signatures. I love King Crimson, but I'm not big on this track. Really weird jam - much grittier sound than other stuff they've put out.
  23. Last week I barely put any time into my class. http://i.imgur.com/xMdIcaD.jpg But this week, I will fight further! :godmode:
