  1. @@Fandaru I'm not talking about the tool kit, I meant the .dll file that you put into your game folder to run the CDLC. I don't know how new it is but if you haven't downloaded it within the past couple months it's probably worth a try to replace the files. CDLC download link As for the tool kit, I don't mean updating the ID, I'm talking about basically generating a new download file. I've done it occasionally to fix a few problematic songs but it requires wWise to use. I occasionally make CDLC myself so I already have all the required software and could do it in a few minutes. If it's only that song causing the problem, a repack should likely fix it. Let me know if the .dll update doesn't fix it and I'll update the song and make a new download link for you to try refer to firekorn's post further below
  2. @@Fandaru Have you tried updating the files that let you run CDLC? Or do you have errors in game where the song itself is broken? I sometimes have problems with the CDLC and updating the file often works for me. If so, let me know and I can update it for you and see if that works. Also, does the error say anything when the game crashes? That could also tell us what the problem is.
  3. Seems using my pick to "finger" tap works best so I'm gonna have to see if I can continue to improve the score @ glad to hear it, I would download additional songs to use the pedal with because It's one of those things that you enjoy the more you use it. Without it, I never would have realized that some of my favorite songs to play are in C and B standard.
  4. done. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Lf7fjCEn6tpf-K73HmuMB28tvX22t1nX-ew7Bs6dWP8/edit#gid=100839439 Thanks
  5. Back in business this week, one of my favorite songs to play. However, I'm not sure what the problem is but my either my strings or the guitar hates finger tapping (most likely it's me though). Gonna have to see if I can figure something out. @@Rodman Keep forgetting to ask but can you transfer the 3 points on the weekly leader boards from xXprototype64Xx to me? Because that's still me, I just changed my name after the first week and you can remove that name afterwards.
  6. Don't worry about it, you can post whenever, I just meant it as a joke. I just had the unfortunate string break and realized that I was out of spares. I ordered a few more packs so hopefully it shouldn't be a problem in the future.
  7. @ looks like you're gonna win this week because my string just broke. Which breaks my heart because I wanted to at least try and see if I could beat your score. Especially since you just handed me that L two days before the week is over.
  8. Progress update @@MaZtoR Yeah, that section was giving me a hard time too. However, I found that playing the original chord shape like a vibrato worked best but I would give all the suggestions a try
  9. @ That's understandable, I'm better at sight reading my self. A trick I use for longer songs is to memorize sections so you know what to expect at each part. Don't worry about flopping around, once you get the detune pedal your wife will be having a great time regardless because the output is in the right tuning but your guitar is still in E standard. If you can play it decent it shouldn't drive her crazy but it'll sound a bit off. @@MaZtoR I haven't played the song yet but usually you can get away with bending only a single string so you could just try bending only the G string fast. Holding the bend and continuously strumming also works but I think you said that it didn't. The only other thing I can think of is if you have a tremolo bar you can hold it while strumming up to essentially bend the string as you strum. It might not make sense over text but if you have a tremelo bar I would just mess around with it. I'll mess around with it tonight and let you know if I find something that works unless someone beats me to it or you figure it out yourself.
  10. I agree that it's a bit fast for sight reading but this is JP my dude, 8 minutes is considered a single part in most Dream Theater songs. However, everything off the solo album is a lot more complicated than what he usually plays on DT. If I get any of my recommendations picked then there's gonna be a lot more where that came from. In the mean time if you want true pain, I recommend "in the presence of enemies". 25 minutes of true suffering
  11. Feels nice to win for once, wonder how long its gonna stay that way? hopefully I can raise this one with a bit more practice Haven't played this one in a while so I'm gonna need a lot of practice, hope to raise it to at least 90%. Either way I'm always happy to play something by JP even if I can't play it that well. @ don't forget to let me know how the pedal is when you get it
  12. Glad to help, I think its a great product and completely worth it so I think you'll love it just as I have
  13. @ nah, as much as I don't want to hear axl's voice I play better with the music. Really I just need the beat to play along with so if there's an instrumental version that would be best for me. playing without music for me is a quick way to destroy my confidence in my ability to play
  14. Yes, I use it for every tuning besides standard and Drop D. If you want more proof it works I also used it in week 221 to get a 99.62% on spirit - ghost, which is in D standard. The lowest tuning I've used for it is down to Bb standard and it worked just fine.
  15. Seems like that's it. Thanks for that, had no clue where that link was.
  16. The optimist in me says "keep pushing for a better score" but the pessimist in me says "you hate guns n' roses, especially Axl so don't bother and you wont have to listen to him". Before I forget, what should I do for creating a song list for suggestions? Seeing as I'm somehow leading this week I thought it would be nice to potentially get one of my suggestions picked before the other masters come back and beat me.
  17. @@Nick K. Fair enough, when you're able to I would definitely get it
  18. Finally done with hell week so I'm back for more. @@Nick K. Have to agree on not being a big Guns n' Roses fan. Because you mentioned not wanting to re-tune because of it I highly recommend getting the Digitech Drop Pedal. It's by far the greatest thing I ever bought for this game and worth every penny. The only tuning you'll ever have to do is for E standard or drop D because the pedal does the rest. Highly recommended to everyone else as well
  19. This song just reminds me of how much more I need to practice before I'm good enough to play stuff like this well. Might be my only submission of the week because I'm still a student and it's mid-term week for me.
  20. Been busy all day so sadly I didn't get a chance to try out hands cannot erase again with a latency fix. However, next time I play a song with that problem I'll know what to do. In the mean time I'll just take another slight improvement for the GOG song that I forgot to post yesterday.
  21. @@mackaybre I suppose, I may try again tomorrow but I'll see.
  22. Found out why I'm having such a hard time with "hands cannot erase". I'm really good at playing on beat and I noticed that score attack kept saying that I was early. Turns out that the notes aren't in sync with the song but are slightly behind. All I had to do was slow down riff repeater to verify. Unsure yet if I'm going to keep trying because this song is really frustrating for me to play so I'll have to take this slight improvement for now.
  23. Must be something with the game or the CDLC. Because I'm having the same issue as well and nothing has changed for me. I'm struggling to get above 98% because the game randomly decides that I missed notes. But on other songs I won't have an issue
