  1. plectrum-less challenge part 2. Wow...I can feel the lack of muscle memory...just feels weird! (spreadsheet keepers can ignore this score)
  2. I have had the same sort of question, never really felt like I understood the settings. My best performance upgrade was getting an audio interface and using the ASIO drivers. Latency dropped, tone sounded better, it is awesome. Not sure if it is the key to fixing the visual lag however.
  3. I would rate this a 7 This one has some things to teach me. Good choice! Also a good choice, also some good things to work on
  4. This is the start of my plectrum-less bass challenge. I'm going to try to start with intermediate level songs and see how comfortable I can get sans pick. And my regular entry with pick
  5. I see what you are saying, I guess it comes down to the technique. I'm perhaps a better pick player, but I am really a beginner on fingerstyle, pops, slaps, etc. I really should break it all down and work on that style, but bass isn't really my passion. (however learning fingerstyle on guitar is on my list) I play bass to help me understand the song structure and because it challenges my "melody first" mindset. My point is that I'm impressed because you hold your own utilizing a much harder technique and you deserve props for that! And I occasionally feel guilty because you can beat my scores on the occasion that you use a pick, but I couldn't touch your scores without one. Of course none of that means I'm going to go easy on you this year.
  6. I have been been realizing how much better you are than me considering I use a pick all the time. Sometimes I think I need to go back to the beginner class and ditch the pick. (not a comment on you staying in advanced, I think the song was so dense in notes it make a high percentage easier to achieve)
  7. I'm starting to think Wonderwall was just a distraction this week to keep me from the contest songs :0
  8. Very nicely done. I can't believe you have it memorized so quickly! The thing I don't like about this song (the original) is how the strumming is so dense. Yours fixes that issue with the strumming more subdued. It makes your playing a good canvas for the lyrics. I'm liking the spoken work lyrics. Not as much pressure as singing, but it provides the glue that hold a song together.
  9. We can do Wonderwall....it is supposed to be THE cliche guitar song to play at parties
  10. @Rodman I really enjoyed your rendition of Soak up the Sun. Every time you came to the line "I.......am going to soak up the sun" it cut through everything and felt like you were speaking directly to me. I feel like the style really created a connection to the listener that way. I really enjoyed it! For my rendition, I finally got my lead singer scheduled and paid (she accepts candy canes thankfully) We spent a fun couple of hours recording takes until we had a good one. I put a bit of reverb on it, put a tone on the guitar with Bias FX and here it is!
  11. Sorry man, I was on vacation and using that as an excuse to stay off the computer. Didn't mean for it all to pile up on you.
  12. I can do better I'm sure Not sure on this one tho
  13. So the cool thing about AC/DC's bassist(s) is that the guitarists generally played the chords without the major 3rd note. This makes their stuff sound darker, but it isn't enough to voice the complete chord. The bass player then played those major 3rds to fill in the chord and complete it. So while the bass parts aren't technically groundbreaking, the bass part is key to their sound.
  14. My daughter wants Cheryl Crow - Soak up the Sun. She has the violin music all printed out and everything Ought to be fun!
  15. @Rodman Ok, Now that I got something resembling a solo figured out, here is my effort. This was harder than I thought it was going to be! I ended up playing Let it Snow with my son on bass for our family Zoom get together, then Good King Wenceslas with my daughter on violin. I love these times, though I fear they are fleeting.
  16. I think I grabbed my tabs from the Rocksmith version, so I think it is in C. This is the scale I found worked This is good for me to learn, but man I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall.
  17. I'm sitting trying to figure out the solo as we speak. I'm trying to just an Am pentatonic scale, but for some reason it just doesn't sound right some times! I'm afraid I am not rocking "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree."
  18. Some not often used chords here...it looks easy but it is tough for me
