  1. Make sure you have the most recent version of the toolkit, naturally. Also what does simplify chords and paste from do? I'm always afraid to click on things I don't understand, cos not everything can be undo'd.
  2. Do you do List then Generate, or do you trust the popup when you save saying it will generate them? I always do the former, and I never do phrases or sections while testing CDLC during creation, and I haven't had that problem.
  3. When's the last time you tried DDC? It's not a static thing....Chili's always improving it. My wife was just commenting the other day that even though it's simplified, it really feels like you're playing the song. If you get a chance, check this one out: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/kuso-breakin-nou-breakin-lily-r3275 Last weekend. As I said, maybe I haven't fed it right..? I didn't really try more than one setting, and perhaps that was wrong... I don't make any phrases (DDC does that), only sections for RR, I set the phrase length to 4, and add 4000ms of leading silence usually. Also, it's important that your notes are correctly placed on the measures, cos if they're not, you'll get some wildly bad results...but I doubt that's your issue:)
  4. Hi! So coincidentally, I had gone through and removed the arpeggios, but the notes were still left crazy. I went back and added 2 tonight to see if I could replicate the issue, and the first arpeggio is fine, but the 2nd exhibits the problem. They're measures 32 & 36. Here's the link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/uzm368q38d1fvt5/Hyde+-+Sweet+Vanilla.zip Thanks!

  6. Yeah, I put DD in all my stuff. If people don't wanna use it, it's not that hard to crank up the difficulty in riff repeater and restart the song. My wife won't even download a song if it doesn't have DD. Even if it's a really easy song, at least the person gets the confidence boost from maxing out the difficulty levels really quickly. Personally, I charge headlong into everything with it cranked up, and hope for the best. Everybody else who plays RS at my house does DD. I don't see my lady going into RR and turning down the speed to practice a riff over and over anytime soon. She's still going through a long "I suck" phase, rather than realizing she's just out of practice.
  7. I have the same problem and it drives me up the wall. I tried a registry edit that stops popup tooltips completely, just in case that's the solution, but the game still loses forcus sometimes.
  8. It's not. The arp chord is a D variation, and the unlabelled chord is an A.
  9. No it's not, it's totally after. I probably won't be able to post it til tomorrow night. Thanks! :)
  10. So that's the problem I'm having. It's right after an arpeggio, but there are no sustains. Nothing's connected, so I don't know if the arpeggio is interfering or if it's something else. Thoughts? Thanks!
  11. That's definitely a factor. It's going from 1440x900 to 1920x1080.
  12. Sorry, I mean switching which is the primary monitor.I need to do that cos I have my 50" TV as my secondary monitor, and Rocksmith only works on the primary, so I have to switch when I play.....which I do a lot when I'm testing customs. Also, it's never playing anything back when it happens. It's just sitting there idle.
  13. It's not a big deal, but when I switch monitors, EoF turns black, and I have to close it with take manager. I just wanted to mention it in case it's not a known issue and can be replicated. If you need any details, let me know. Thanks! :)
  14. Don't get too hung up on perfection, or else you'll never put up anything at all. ;) A little WIP action isn't a bad thing. I would say if you need to move on after getting a song around 90% accurate, by all means, upload it now and come back to it later with a fresh mind when you're ready to fix it. That's just my thought, just because I released a handful of imperfect customs when I started out, and it was a great learning experience, but then I went back and fixed the rough ones later.
  15. I watched a couple youtube videos before I installed my i3 and it worked out just fine.
  16. Sure it's not just a very easy song? I've seen official songs start off with the DD bar half full of orange, IIRC. No, every song. The starting difficulty seems to vary though. But official songs always start off at zero. /puts down crack pipe, jumps out window.

  18. No, see the red stripe up top? The site was under a DoS attack and nobody could connect. Trust me, I tried! LOL If it's still not working, I'm sure they'll fix it, now that you let them know.
  19. Hi all! I'm having a little problem with my CDLC for Prince's Computer Blue. I've gotten as high as 98.4%, and I can't seem to get the % any higher, even though I think I'm playing it better than I ever have before. I got that 98.4% in a previous version, and I have edited it since, to simplify some 3 finger power chords that only needed to be 2. I'm wondering if the lower note count has somehow made it mathematically impossible for me to match my previous score. Is it possible to reset the score for a song? USUALLY when I update one of my customs, it deletes my score whether I like it or not. In this case, it actually had deleted my score, but with the most recent revision, it actually restored my score from 2 revisions ago, even though it had been blank with the last revision. Thoughts? Am I on crack? 2nd question: What is the purpose of turning off the venue stuff? Does it make the game run any better? I want to do a video capture of me playing the song, and I'm wondering if the venue mode has any affect. As soon as I start up Camtasia, even with venue turned off, the game suddenly gets really choppy. I'd leave it on if it doesn't matter, so I thought I'd check. 3rd question: What is "showlights"? I saw it mentioned on the smithy forum. If it's possible to alter the lighting (I'd love to make it purple for this song), how do you do it? Thanks a bunch, all!
  20. Actually trying to play along with Go Play Along would give me a headache. I'm glad we don't need it for that!
  21. Yeah, I bought it within, like, an hour of downloading it.
  22. Definitely before you try to time lyrics with Ultrastar, or you're screwed! In UC, if you ever need to use it, you navigate to your guitar.ogg (with leading silence already added) rather than the MP3, cos you want the lyrics to be timed with the added silence in mind.
  23. I remember reading your post about agonizing over every note and hoped you would follow the trend and move over to GPA. :D Edit: Nice avatar, btw. ;)
