  1. Ah. So you need a six string version. I've got a couple of those accumulated over the years. Apparently @JamesPrestonUK created and posted one specially for you (nice guy) but he only does bass, so that doesn't do us any good. Pity. I'm not sure who created this one or if it is the best one I've got. Does your youtube video say who the creator was? Ah, It's @PC Plum . It's hard to know which file you're actually playing on RS. CF probably doesn't like me to post other peoples stuff on Ignition so here's one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ujildlmiibmmib/Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing2_p.psarc?dl=0 Let me know if it is bass only or lacking something and I'll post you another one. Meanwhile you could message @PC_Plum on the not private messenger on CF and he should re-post the one you want on Ignition. Cheers, mczero
  2. Thanks Jan, Yes, I've got hundreds of tabs waiting to chart too. I recall before about 2016 charters used to get a label of "Charter" and "MagnaCharter" under their forum posts. That suddenly stopped and no-one seemed to notice or comment so far as I remember. Then more recently the labels disappeared from those who had one and no one commented so it probably did little to encourage anyone to chart. I agree that some downloaders will eventually get curious about it, but I was hoping there would be something the site could do to stimulate that process. I just don't know what. Also have you noticed some members suddenly become enthusiastic charters for a year or two then drop out and often leave dead links. Ignition 4 wiped a lot of those. I think that's how the full version of Sultans of Swing disappeared. How can we hold on to these people more? Thanks James and Jan for thinking about it.
  3. Thanks for clarifying this arrov. I'll have to do some research to make sure I really am getting DD. I never actually use it. I prefer to learn all the notes and then speed up in RR which is the traditional method of learning to play an instrument. But DD's a requirment for RS now so you have to do it. Thanks for all of this.
  4. Thanks arrov, Nice clear concise guide, free from clumsy expression. Some good info on tones and other stuff that is usually missing in most "how to's." I will try this tone import method next time as tones have always been a hurdle for me. I could be wrong but I thought DD was the default in RSTK now, maybe I set that up and forgot. I have found rules for making customs kept changing over the years, but I guess now there are no more revisions, that won't happen anymore. Maybe we need a wiki for the guide so people can add their discoveries continually? Well done with this, especially for adding common problems.
  5. How can we encourage more users of this site to chart CDLCs? I just had a look through the Request CDLC tab and there's an almost infinite list of hopeful suggestions. It's mainly a dumping ground for requests. I doubt if many charters actually look it up. They of course have a huge list of their own favourites at the particular time and do one of those. I somehow doubt that as many as one percent of site members actually chart. It's tempting to just be a passive down-loader and use other peoples efforts to learn to play. I have only done half a dozen charts myself, as I'm slow at it and it's a lot of work and I don't have much time. I only started because another enthusiastic member, Avdocatwork encouraged me to try. There's lots of good help once you get started on the Create CDLC tab and other places on the net. But how can we encourage more users to actually have a go? It's a steep learning curve at the beginning, but anyone can learn. The more of us that chart, the more likely your favourite song will appear on Ignition. Users seem to be less inclined to give positive feedback on CDLC in recent years. (Well that's my impression anyhow.) Maybe we could publish a list of first time charters like we do for Patreons, I don't know, but I think the Admins should think about something like that. After all, we're not getting any more content from Ubi, and new content leads to donors and keeps RS and this site alive. I'm just asking how can we get more users to become charters?
  6. There's a bass only and a lead only version on Ignition atm. No rhythm. Downloads seem to work ok. Check again.
  7. Hi Hado,

Just downloaded all of your customs  even those groups I didn't know. You show a lot of good taste like that early Floyd for example.  Thanks.  Have you heard the Faces, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake album? Some Donovan albums like Open Road, Hurdy Gurdy Man, Barabajagal.. are excellent, some others not so much.

Have you downloaded all of avdocatwork's stuff? He started the classic rock coalition but has become inactive lately. He did a lot of your style of stuff.
    Cheers,

    mczero

      Haydo0467

Thank you! Ogden's Nut Gone Flake is a great album, my favourites would be Song Of A Baker or Rollin' Over, I haven't heard that much of Donovan except for Hurdy Gurdy man because Status Quo covered that in 1966. I'll have a listen to some of his stuff. I have downloaded a few of avdocatwork's songs and they're really good.

  8. Well, It's been up on Ignition for 5 days with 145 downloads and no complaints. Seems to work for everyone except me on my laptop. I'm beginning to suspect Steam is the culprit since the no cable patcher cures it. It is something to do with having a Steam account on my TV computer as well as the laptop. So let's consider it problem solved and case closed. Thanks to fetal_icecream, ghr1227 and Ffio for helping or at least taking an interest in the thread.
  9. Does this custom load on your setup?
  10. Whoa ho. Hey fetal, Glad to hear from you again. I thought you had left the forum cos there wasn't much new Acca Dacca stuff being posted. I guess the wife and children have been keeping you busy. So it goes... I sure would like to know if this custom loads for you. I found the link to patcher from a guy called Brubeck on CF. I don't rightly know much about it. i just tried it cos nothing else worked. It seems to be a no cable patch so you can use your Focus right Scarlett or Zoom interface instead of a cable. It also seems to cut that silly Steam log in thing when you are starting. Can't think why it would make my custom work but it did. Hey do you live on the north or southside of town? We may be close to each other. Let me know if this works anyhow, Cheers, mczero
  11. Reposting a quote here from Iminashi for continuity: " The custom works on my machine and I'm not seeing any obvious reason why it shouldn't work. The reasons for a custom not showing up I can thing of are: -The DLC key used is the same as another custom/ODLC. -The App ID is set to a DLC the user doesn't own. -The user has some song list selected. -Some people have posted about problems with long filenames on Mac, but since I don't own one, I can't test it." My responses:- --Slight possibility I might have mixed up DLC key as I tried over 13 times to get it working, but I don't think so. How would the Patcher affect that? --The App ID is set to Cherub Rock same as all my other customs. --The user has some song list selected- I've got All Songs selected so... -- long filenames on Mac. I'm on PC and the custom is a *p.psarc so not that. Thanks for your suggestions. A very logical set of checks. Anybody else got a suggestion? Cheers, mczero
  12. Update:- I tried it on my other machine and it works fine. So what is happening?
  13. Need help with a Custom I created. I've made several ok Customs in the past without too much problem. But after generating this custom in SC Toolkit, I struggled for several days to get this one to show up in RS Remastered, having got rid of all errors in EoF. I used the latest hotfix EoF and Toolkit and used CFSM repair on it to no avail. I checked for updates of D3DX9_42.dll and had the latest. In this process I came across a link on CF to Rocksmith Patcher. In desperation I gave this a go and suddenly my custom works perfectly. I don't think it right to post on Ignition just yet as it could cause a lot of people agro as it did me. If I start RS thru steam it still doesn't show but starting with the patcher it is great. I'm hoping the experts here can solve the problem, so it works no matter how you start RS. Here is my custom: Frank Zappa San Ber'dino Here are all my files used along the way: Files Also feel free to download to try it out. It might just work for you. Let me know. The patcher is in there too, if you need it. I would appreciate it if anyone can make a suggestion or even better tell me how to fix it so It's postable on Ignition and good for anyone to use. Cheers, mczero PS. Thanks to all the guys at CF for the new Ignition and their work gradually getting rid of the bugs over the following weeks. PPS. Dropbox deleted my Files linked above yesterday. I've put them back up now if you want to make your own version.
  14. Thanks, It was indeed a bug which they have now fixed after the sale ended. The cart button popped up so I've got it now anyhow. Thanks for taking an interest. Cheers, Ian
  15. Thanks for your interest. I sure have. Got no reply from Ubisoft as yet. Steam said this: "Hi Ian, Thanks for reporting this matter. Not all publishers have submitted pricing for titles in your region. If this missed pricing is unintentional, once a price is submitted by the publisher, the DLC should be available for purchase. We do not have further information regarding prices in a specific region. We will notify publisher/developers of any missed pricing, so please continue to check the store front for any updates. Additionally, you can also contact the publisher/developer directly and inform them of this issue. If we can help you with anything else, please let us know. Steam Support Cailen" In other words, they don't have a clue, but were very nice about it. The buy button still hasn't appeared. I'm betting it's a licencing issue like what happened with Clapton years ago. I'd like to know if it is available in other countries like France for example. Santé à toi, Ian
  16. Could someone who owns the Mumford and Sons Song pack please message me and let me know what country you are in? It looks like you can point to my name (mczero) or avatar above and select message from the pop up window to do it on this new site. It looks like Steam is not allowed to sell Mumford in Australia with them being Australian for some stupid reason.
  17. The Mumford and Sons Songpack on Steam seem to be unavailable in Australia (possibly for legal reasons). Does anyone know how to get it? I've tried to buy it on Steam several times over the years, but Steam just won't let me.
  18. @@coldrampage "The inability to edit tabs is a major pain in the ass, especially with how you are more likely to notice errors during the sync process." I agree in that it would be great to edit tabs in GPA, but you can get it synced half way, go back to Guitar Pro, edit the tab, save, reload in GPA and still keep the syncing you have already done up to the edit. I do this a lot. After the edit, you might lose some red dots, if you have deleted or added bars. Otherwise it usually is all still there. I would caution against autosync in GPA. I find it does more harm than good and can lead you way off the track. Used manually I think it's great. Well worth the investment. I'd say you've done enough customs in EoF, you don't need it. Thanks for "Schoolgirl Upon Thy Corpse" by the way. That really made my day! :-)
  19. Sounds like it. Make sure each song has a different ID.

    Songsterr Stuff

Thanks. I got caught by the Upload Tab on the left, but it's the pencil button on the top we need for Submit Revision then download. Don't need Flash now. Cheers.
  21. I've noticed a lot of charters mentioning that they got Tabs from Songsterr lately. There sure is a lot of new stuff there, since the last time I looked. If you want to extract the Guitar Pro Tabs, you have to join, but not pay (unless you want to.) You've got to switch to the old version, allow Flash in Settings on your browser, and hit Submit a New Revision, before you get the GPx you want, then download it. Then you skip the upload after all. Bit of a fiddle, but it sure is worth it. They are of variable quality with tracks missing sometimes, or even whole parts, but it definitely beats transcribing it all yourself or importing midis. Some have all the bends, slides Hos and Pos all done nicely for you to put straight into EoF. The old version with this loophole may not be around forever so best to download the GPxs you want now. Just mentioning this in case you hadn't noticed or couldn't get it to work. Hope this helps somebody make a few customs easier.
  22. @@dpub. It's a false positive for sure. Ray is entitled to be patronizing. You've insulted his product which he freely gives away, because you got panicked by a virus scanner that wants to frighten you to justifty the bucks you paid for it or will pay for it. It's a scam McAffee started in 1987 and made billions. Also Ray has to put up with same old same old every couple of years or so. I've seen it. He's given you a very thorough reasoned explanation under the circumstances.
  23. Good point Red. Remember when we got the upgrade to 2014, there was about 6 months or more when you could pre-order (I did). I just loved it. No sign of that yet for the new thing, so I'm thinking...subscription based. :( I also strongly suspect they will ditch the .psarc format and come out with a whole new format or maybe streamed content or something like direct online only like Guitar Hero Live tried towards the end. They won't make it an easy upgrade path. We might find ourselves paying for the same old songs again in the new game like I did when CDs came out. We should be able to expect they will keep the ODLC available on Steam for a few years since they will still make money from it. I'm hanging out for the next Steam sale to get as much as I can afford, just in case it drops off sooner. There's some guys here on the forum with some serious programming skills, so I suspect they will nail the new format in a few months and come up with a new tool for us to make new format CDLC or whatever is required. I was also hoping that Ubi would release their API for Rocksmith 2014 now theyre not using it anymore but I guess that would be too much to ask. I use about 10 different pieces of software to create a custom, all but one of which were written for a different purpose. Maybe someone will sneak a copy of the API out the back door after a while. Some genuine tools might make the process a lot easier. Anyhow we can keep Rocksmith alive by cranking out death metal customs (and a few others) for as long as we can, right here on CF. If you don't learn to make them yourself, maybe nobody else will, certainly not Ubi.
  24. hi Phil, You too. I've only just got tone changes to work properly on my last custom, even though I put them in my earlier ones. There's a nice video here: link. I made myself a few notes on what worked for me here: 14 In Toolkit load tone template first otherwise other entries clear. 15 Import Tone Template from tones.dlc.xml in Khe Sanh say. 16 Set tone changes in EoF Track > Rocksmith > Tone Change > Add at time markers. 17 Don’t set a time for first tone. Set it as Default. 18 Use lower case simple names to remember for Toolkit eg. “nice” 19 In Toolkit, select tone > Edit > Tone information > type “nice” 20 Leave Tone Type for game to decide. 21 Adjust volume, probably up a bit. Save tone > OK. 22 Tone A is same as default. Tone B is the first new tone. It's not a How To, just my notes to self as I don't get time to make many customs and keep forgetting the tricky bits. I think you've been dead unlucky or a victim of malicous activity as I've never had any trouble with dropbox or heard of anyone else having it. Google Drive is just as good. I use both. Never had a problem. Generally newer Windows is more secure than old. Win 7 is pretty old, but a good one. You can still get a free upgrade to Win10 by searching for Win10 accessibility and hunting around. Cheers, mczero
  25. @phillupdbowl Thanks for doing the reupload. I thought you must have had a hissy and taken them down just cos some random criticised them. It's pretty easy to cop negativity on here for your Customs and not easy to get constructive comments. There's some big egos around. It looked like you'd added a rhythm track, so why not? The more the merrier. It wasn't even the original poster anyhow. Hope someone wasn't having a go at your stuff. I noticed dropbox have changed their rules regarding no more than 3 devices on a free account. That's all I can help with. By the way you do a nice range of stuff, modern, oldies etc. Well done. Much appreciated. Cheers, mczero
