  1. Turns out progress is very slow for me on this. And I haven't even started on the solo....
  2. Bonus is just bonus, it doesn't affect the rankings. I don't know if it affects the player level. @ Rodman Can you clarify?
  3. @ Bottledpat12 @ avastreg I don't want to sound disrespectful, I assume you guys already know this and your problems probably lie elsewhere. But as a player who doesn't own a Floyd equipped guitar, you make it sound like it's impossible to tune the thing. Here's a guide for the floyd beginners: https://youtu.be/wJIXFFFxf_g . Tuning the thing is not that hard, it just takes more time.
  4. Great, I'll have more time to get Revocation songs down.
  5. Since I don't see any consensus on a particular change proposition in the the setlist, I've decided not to make any changes. Yeah, some of the songs might be hard, but isn't it the point of participating to be challenged? The leaderboard has been fixed. At the end of the week I'm gonna take an average of the diff ratings and update them, so make sure you leave yours.
  6. Yeah, I agree with @ kayteck , we should also celebrate the 10 years. But a round number is also as good of a reason. Anyway, my first suggestion would be Rush - The Trees (9/x/8) from week 412 - it was my first song competing here.
  7. Now that you mention the particular riff it's a different matter. I use 8-38 strings with a really fat pick and I don't see any detection issues (so yeah it works for me). But the problem probably lies elsewhere. My guess would be other strings still buzzing when they shouldn't, but it's just a guess. Does the same thing happen in RR on low speeds? EDIT: imo either that or a tuning/intonation issuse
  8. Maybe you should try not hitting it that hard.
  9. The song is actually very simple, it's just that the charter decided to be turbo precise. I seriously doubt that Jack White can play this as charted, so don't feel bad. Also, I'd advise anybody trying to focus on the rhythm and structure instead of pushing to get all the 'ornamentals' right.
  10. GoG. If I can get this to 90% in two weeks I'll be happy. I remember I tried to play this when it came out (as in the song, no rs back then) and while I know I'm much better now, it didn't get any easier.
  11. Lead mc. @ Bottledpat12 I don't know if I can reach your scores in a week, but I will certainly try. Your last week's sight-read was definitely in my reach.
  12. Rhythm mc. These are not sight-reads, pay no mind to the play through counter. I actually played these a lot some time ago, but today my save file decided to corrupt itself. (Well, I may have helped it by rage quitting using alt+f4)
  13. Yeah, that's what I thought at first, but after last week I wanted to play it safe. I also specifically didn't want to put the Flight of the Conchords song a an non-bonus, just because I don't think it's top notch quality. Playable, but not top notch. Could you kindly give the adv lineup a try? That's where I'm currently missing any feedback.
  14. The score is ok, no DD cdlcs do that sometimes. If it bothers you, you can try adding DD in CF Song Manager.
  15. No prob, it's a win for me. but I'm still curious about your sight-read score on this, so pls give it a shot. Check out the new week also.
  16. 1. Judging by last week there's gonna be some contention as to the diff ratings. Please recheck the thread sunday evening/monday morning to see if anything changed. 2. As always constructive criticism is welcome. I know my diff ratings aren't top notch. 3. I added more songs this time, since we will probably have to move stuff around. Also, they're not available elsewhere, so it's not like arrangements go to waste. 4. Have you heard of this band 'Revocation'? I know 3 songs from one band is a lot. Tough luck if you don't like this kinda stuff, but I can't go back in time to download something different. 5. The auto-generation scripts threw an unhelpful error and refused to cooperate. I'll fix the leaderboard tomorrow. EDIT: 6. Almost forgot: I'm aware that I only used the rhythm part of a Satriani song. The lead was charted in a weird way (and has errors) and for the bass part I simply chose different songs. Consider it another bonus song. My diff ratings for it are 8/5.5/3, so lead mc, rhythm int and bass beg.
  17. New week is here: Sorry for the delay, the scripts refused to cooperate.

  19. 1. Currently any score will get you second place in lead, I don't know you care about the rankings, but it's good points. 2. I do have an advantage on this particular song, since I have played it before (a lot actually). It's also in a style that I usually play, so don't take my score as a benchmark. 3. If you move to advanced you'll get easy wins. Easier songs + less motivation to push yourself = much slower progress. IMO.
  20. @ Bottledpat12 Pls don't wait for the last day to post a score. I wanna put up a fight on this.
