The part with single notes and chords is hard to me. Some random misses.

oof goofed up on a hammeron owell.
@ drand  i believe there's many ways to do octaves its just what feels best for you.
Sometimes like in this playthrough i use my thumb for the first note and strum downwards meanwhile i use my middle finger to strum upwards.
Othertimes if im lazy ill use a pick and just do pure downstrokes. Using picks sometimes is "taboo" with basist but i find it kinda silly to not use it. It's a tool and if you have one and play better with it then by all means do so. At the end what matters is what it sounds like, it shouldnt matter how you play it.


Much respect to you @ JobwanMojo  for your score on this song, some sections are mental. And glad you atleast enjoyed one song this week!

I did notice. From me it's just i'm completely exhausted and I've managed to practice only 3 days for a short time so not much progress ☹️

wanted to cover the replacements but since im not practicing enough then i wont get the lead part which kind of defeat the purpose...

hopefully next week i ll have more energy...

Well on my side i´ve been challenged to do a cover of a whole complete song brrrrrr. Scary and timeconsuming 😉

well.... @ drand  you scarelessly open doors i would not have come close oh boy oh boy... Now that was really really a lot of work, like 10 hours, and i´ve been rushing every bit there 🙂  Bah - a whole song with a ton of guitar lines, bass, drums, quite some parts and haaaard lyrics... no i didn´t strip it down in no way

So ..... that´s already quite a project .... 13 tracks needed. What did i do?
Check the tabs .... go to sleep desperate.
Dreams about arpeggiounicorns that drop the riders over and over...
Midi drumline for a start.... and started recording Clean Guitars.... Bass.... Lead Guitars ... Rhy Guitars .... Missing parts

I followed the original tabs closely until the end, there i had to do some stuff of my own.

Vocals Pah.... before i even started to do recordings my voice began do decay .... really really hard there.

Threw that all into Reaper, heavy mixing - panning on the guitars that are doubled most of the time (not copied, played twice) to open the space for teh voice, experiments on the drums - ended up using that wonderful IK Modo Drums Plugin - chose the Studio Kit for that one.
About no effects used, i really should on the vocals maybe, yeah.

A lil mastering (mainly keeping all safe below cliping)

Not so much with this one Although I did get 99% felt more like Intermediate 

Lead and rhythm scores

Ok so I have now updated paths with an average diff lvl as i said i would  so it should be a bit more balanced.

Unfortunatley this breaks the automatic score table for previously submited scores but will probably be fixed at the end of the week. 

I have also made alt lead the main path for beginners since the main lead was bumped up to 3.5 @ Willyam  should be easier if you have time and want to give it a ago.

Yea so kinda silly, but seems like reposting your scores is the temporary fix if you want your scores to appear on the scoreboards automatically for now. 

I did my best this week.

 

Point North is one of the favorite band for me in these days.

I think "Psycho" is great song in their songs, and the guitar sound is great.

But there is no cdlc. I hope someone will make the cdlc.

 

Very famous song. I practiced this song before.

 

wow - quite some energy there in that song... opposite that i remember from the boys seing them live quite a few times... hmmm cool

This is so cool man!! Again you made it your own, always end up surprising in some way! I feel like there’s this very Rodman vibe in all your covers, idk if it’s like a vague reggae undertone or what? Idk sounds like a smile

Great reverb on the guitar in the beginning, sounds cleaan and great sound on the bass, you can actually hear it unlike mine 😂

The last part goes hard!! Is that a …vocal solo? 🫨 buuurning on the insiiiideBuurningbbbuurningontheInSidee

I think there is one part where I just hear guitar on right ear and left ear feels empty, I think I woulda liked that more if it was just the beginning bit then it filled out both sides

Lots of texture here, new drum plugin is heaaavy 🤘🏻 & Do I hear under the bridge man making a feature?? Guitar at the end flies to the moon with some epic feedback to top it off, yesss 👏🏻 this is so complex I can’t even catch everything damn

Ah.. thx! complexity or random miss of structure 🙂 The bassRodman here - ok ... yeah. Yeah - i gotta start panning PARTS of tracks - that´s what i am missing myself a bit, sometimes throwing the lead in the middle when there is no vocals or something.
Vocal solo - sure - when you are performing lowlevel - do it proud like god 🙂 Wow you heard the under the bridgeguy there - yes, he is.
I really had to rush rush rush and finish cause i wanted today and tomorrow to compete. Vocals should have been cloaked with a ton of effects ... but sorry i somehow never do that.. probably a note to myself to keep working on those lazy untrained vocalcords of mine.... idk

Guitar in the beginning... yeah - a part i know how to prodice by now - 2 guitarlines panned extremely to opposite directions... they both get ALSO sent to reverb/delaytracks panned to the OTHER opposite 🙂 direction.... creating so much room in the middle.

How long did it take to make yours - it´s so cool!

I also avoid envelopes if that’s what you mean 😂 I take sooo long to do the cover, like with the championship it can be couple hours or whole evenings over the week. I spent the least time on I Love Rock N Roll, maybe 4 days. Good the time gets shorter with templates so most of my tracks and fx are reused between songs. I record things over and over until either it sounds good or doesn’t really change for the better anymore. Right now I am feeling the slump!! 😩
