Yea that 5 to 9 stretch on guitar is way different on the bass. I have a 24 fret guitar and bass and the bass is about 6in (15.24cm) longer.

i used to play this song alot when i was a teen. took some repeats normal mode to get kinda close to it but theres still room for improvement

I've played this a few times in Learn a song mode and a few times in SA mode and I give up... On the last attempt I lowered music volume to 50% to hear myself playing and it didn't sound good in fast riff parts. So I humbly accept the last place. 🙂

I'd say progress, but the truth is I got lucky with the solo. I'll try SA now.

@ Mikson  by fast parts do you mean the main riff in the intro or the very end part?
if its the begining riff for me it was easier to use 3 fingers rather than barring it but maybe thats just preference? The octave jump could also technicly be played on same strings but 12 frets up..incase the strings moving was causing issues..

if its the end part thats causing you issues then idk cause thats where i goof up aswell haha mostly cause of the slide

My advice would be to ALWAYS set the levels so that you can hear yourself, and use a tone that you can differentiate from the recording.  When you can hear yourself it builds up different parts of the nervous system (like the speech/language part of the brain), instead of just hand-eye coordination and reflex. DISCLAIMER: I'm not a neurologist, it's just stuff I read that correlates well with my experience.

What I do is I use a custom tone that cuts well through most mixes, so I can hear myself 90% of the time without fiddling with the settings. ymmv

yeah! always listen to what YOU play!!!! i recommend putting out yout guitar through your amp - so you can in seconds alter the volume to break through the RSmix!

Do you use a custom tone? Can't believe, the tone sounds terrible. I could possibly use it instead of distortion tones, but when a song uses mostly clean tones, I think my ears would fall off. 🙂

I will try to set the levels in the mixer properly to hear my playing better.

Hard to believe but I don't have any amps, although I plan to change that. 😉

Bass improvements:

We have the same riffs as in the guitar path, but on the bass they are even harder. The long part of the opening riff strains my hand too much. It gets even worse in the final parts. 😬
