Rocksmith Not working with CDLC And Needing to Reactivate product key

Jacob_West

Question

Hey, I'm looking for some help regarding rocksmith and CDLC's. Yesterday i played the game and installed Mods and custom DLC's but i went to play the game today and it did not work. I then proceeded to delete files so that the game would launch. I am now stuck with a menu saying that pirated versions of rocksmith dont work with cdlc but i own the game on steam and i have no way to put the product key in. Any help on this would be appreciated.

I have encountered the same issue.  Last night it was working but today it did not.  If I remove the D3DX9_42.dll file , rocksmith opens up. but the custom DLC files do not work.  I think Rocksmith put a block on it to push the sales of the newest release.  This really ^%#^%# me off.  I hope someone can com up with a work around for the thousands of songs created.

All the Same issues here. DLC was working but not CDLC.  Ancient news feed messages from 2019 as well and told me my game was not legit, it is.

So what did work.... I turned off PC WiFi, started game, no issues with offline mode !

This was through the programs list for RS14, not Steam.  I don't know if it matters, haven't tried Steam route offline. Or whether the manner of the originally installed game with hard disc or online through steam but mine was a hard copy. Hope that helps.

From the reddit post linked by biscuit:

In our testing we noticed that some players who use Rocksmith 2014 with other programs may experience stability issues. For those players we've added a temporary legacy branch on Steam that can be accessed with the password "JustInCaseWeNeedIt". We only recommend using this branch if you experience issues after this latest update. Once those stability issues are resolved, we'll phase out this branch."

Opt in to the beta and use the previous version until the DLL is fixed
