New to the forum from AVForums, just wanted to say hi :)

Rockinbiscuit

Question

Hey there,

My names tris, I'm 35, I'm new to the forums, electric guitar and Rocksmith and just wanted to say hi to you all and thank you all for a great forum and cdlcs (which I have yet to learn to use - PC).

I have ordered Rocksmith 1 with the real tone cable, have 2014 downloaded, going to download some dlc for both and import the stuff from the first game over to 2014....

I also ordered an Epiphone Les Paul Special II for a starter electric guitar, have no idea how to play, but I'm sure it's going to be fun finding out

I look forward to socialising with you all, and all my kit's being delivered tomorrow, so I'll be starting to learn with you all soon :)

Welcome aboard Tris and I (and I'm sure I speak for everybody here) hope you enjoy your time here.

Hopefully you'll get settled in well and there's years worth of content on the board here for you to sink your teeth into when you get started playing.

As well as the cdlc content, we also have some nice off topic discussion, gear guides and an area for people looking to learn and improve. If you have any questions, all you need to do is ask!

Before you start diving in on the customs, spend a couple of weeks working through the lessons section. If you know anyone who already plays, have them sit down with you and show you some basics -- how to hold the guitar, how to hold the pick, how to fret the strings etc. A lot of that is covered in the lessons, but it really helps to have someone watching what you do (and whom you can watch too).
