Questions about CFSM

I currently have my Steam/Rocksmith/cdlc/Song Manager on an external hard drive. If I decide I want to move this to a new computer, how do I make sure all the songs and song info is transferred over?

because I'm noticing Saved File: songsInfo.xml is on my computer hard drive right now under c drive.

Every time I close the song manager, it saves a few files.

What does backing up user profiles do? How often do I have to back it up? The prfldb file is in my external hard drive/userdata folder

What have you tried so far?  Almost every feature in CFSM has tooltip popups if you hover over the item.  These tooltips will guide you and tell you what the tool does.  There are also several dedicated help messages and tutorials in the program.

If you install CFSM on a new computer it will automatically rebuild the songinfo.xml file and other CFSM support files.  So no worries.

User profiles are also known as game saves, this tool backups you current progress in the game.  In case your save ever gets corrupted from playing corrupt CDLC you will have a backup copy.  These backups you will want to save when you move to a new computer, though you won't be able to use them on the new computer unless you use CGT Game Save Gigbox to transfer them (that's another question for another thread though).   Just hang onto these backups and if they are ever needed you will have them.  Don't even think about installing them on the new computer.  It will just hose up your fresh Rocksmith 2014 Remeaster install.

After a fresh Steam install of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered on the new computer, all you will need to do is move your CDLC manually over to the new computer.  Then install and run CFSM.  CFSM will install the proper d3dx9_42.dll file for you in the proper location so that you can play CDLC again.  CFSM will also populate a new songinfo.xml file when run it on the new computer.
