Rocksmith won't start - corrupted exe or virus

Hi Guys,

 

I had a very painful experience today. When I launched the games after the debug console started as usual a window appeared to tell me the game will never worked again.

 

I have therefore uninstalled and re-installed ... and re-installed also the patch and library file as per the tutorial. No problem there. Then copied my backed-up dlc into the proper folder. Then the same crash.

 

I know some cdlc are known for corrupting something. The problem is that I have not downloaded and played new cdlc since last week - and the game was working last week.

 

Can anyone guide me on this one?

Have you tried rebooting?  That worked for me when I had a crash problem that I still don't know what caused it.

 

Alternatively, you could do a system restore to the most recent date before you had the crash hit.

Yep I might try that indeed. Will let you know guys if it worked. Though it is very strange.
