Extremely weird sound coming from Real Tone cable can anyone help?

IVex

Question

I just got my guitar today. It's the one on Amazon if you look up "Electric Guitar" It works fine and doesn't have issues, however the real tone cable just simply does not work. My issue with the real tone cable is that once I connect it, I can't hear anything at all. When I go to properties and the mic it doesn't make any noise even when I strum. Once I get into rocksmith, it sounds horrible. It sounds like a loud static noise mixed with playing all the strings at once rapidly. It doesn't recognize that my guitar is connected or when it is being calibrated nothing happens but the noise continues to be there in the background. I haven't even been able to get passed the first time set up in rocksmith. I will be uploading a video soon of the noise. The noise happens whether the guitar is connected or not.

Hello there @IVex! There are 2 ways that I can think of that can fix this problem. First, I had the same issue where I would get buzzing on my 2nd guitar (old strat). The way I had gotten it to work is unscrewing the plate for the guitar jack and making the the plate is at the right position for the guitar to pick up sound. 2nd this noise is usually caused by the Real Tone Cable Gain inside the Audio Settings via RS 14. Check those out, play with the settings for it and tell me what happens.  (Note: if you can't access settings in game then access the config in the folder the game is installed and set the Cable Gain to 10db or 20db)

It is not the guitar 100%. The cable doesn't have to be connected to the guitar to make the noise and it changed from it sounding like all strings were being played to pure white noise. I can't get to the menu because it doesn't detect my guitar since I guess the real tone cable doesn't work. I can use my guitar through the amp normally but not with the real tone cable. :( A new cable is arriving tomorrow so I hope I can play then.
