  1. I doubt that an update had anything to do with it. Are the songs still in your DLC folder,, If so just reassign an APP ID to them and try again. ( hint, sometimes you need to do it more than once ) I've no idea why, but sometimes,, also try to repack and assign APP ID at the same time,, kills two birds with one stone. Are your other customs there ? If not then your DX9 file might have been removed,, certain anti virus programs don't like it. All of my Metallica songs are still there. I just checked.

  2. Are you getting the DOS prompt popup when launching Rocksmith ? If not you either have the wrong DX9 file or you have it in the wrong place. It goes HERE    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith2014   on a default installation. Also make sure you are using THIS Dx9 file https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/5ehzgh0s9xdbbfc/D3DX9_42.dll?dl=1&token_hash=AAGRCgJR0scSCHFFYW1NYnnSBtTgAR_HzKIFf6jvSZPohQ  .There is no EXE thingy,, you just paste the DX9 file into The Rocksmith 2014 folder,, that's it.

  3. My 2 pennies worth.

Steve Vai: ( He played for Zappa at the ripe old age of 19. Are you kidding me ? ) He was  listed in the liner notes as Impossible guitar parts and stunt guitar, by Frank Zappa.

Randy Rhoads: ( Not necessarily the cleanest player out there but at the time he was doing things no one else was ) ( Career cut WAY to short by his untimely death. )

Darrel Abbot ( Dimebag ) : Frigging woke the metal world up with a new sound and different style.  Some of the best solo's I've ever heard. ) Brilliant.

Dave Mustaine : Highly underrated and a frigging genius as far as song writing goes. ( Don't believe me ? Try playing Lucretia . ) Holy Wars/ Punishment Due is composed as well as almost anything I can think of.

Many others but if I HAD to choose just 4,. I would gladly take the ability to play like any of them. I put Steve Vai at the top of this list because I KNOW he could play any of the others stuff.

  4. While I haven't played those customs. You to understand that MOST recorded music for guitar parts has several recordings layered. For example during the solos for songs you can hear the rhythm part behind it. With only one guitarist, that's studio trickery. Live, the guitarist often modifies the song so it can be played live. And maybe that was the best tab the charter could find.

  5. Of course customer support was useless. Ubisoft does not provide customs. They know it exists and they tolerate it. I just installed RS 2014 on my laptop and copied the Dx 9 file from my desktop to here and poof, no issues. I also copied my entire DLC folder and then told it no as far as an overwrite on existing files and BOOM, all of my cdlc is good AND my progress on said cdlc was saved.

  6. Like the guitar always being on, I just remembered that.  It's so subtle in RS14 that its always on, only when you go back to RS12 do you notice that its not on.  You are like, wtf is my cable broke?  Where's my guitar sound??  How the hell did I ever get on when I can only hear my guitar during gameplay???

Now I fancy RR'ing that section so I'll just press space bar... doh, wtf.  I have to come out of the song, and load up (like literally load for ages) that one fkn section.  Oh sht I loaded the wrong section, balls.

In RS12s defense, I did absolutely love making up a set list then "performing" it to my adoring (and very sexy) fans.  Think that should definitely come back in RS16, unlocking bigger venues to play in.  And also the rank system.  You are now a Guitar God and can play at Wembley.  Minted :D

Um, you can unlock venue sizes,, it's not exactly like 2012 was but the room does get bigger. I miss the Event mode, I liked loading up 8 songs and scoring 1 million points,, but 2014 is just so much better for techniques and stuff.
  7. No, it is a different file format and the two are not compatible. You could extract the notes into Editor on Fire and create your own but the results are disappointing. Try searching for the ones you want using ignition. They may have been done for RS2014 already. And the other site name you refer to was an entirely different site owned and staffed by different people. As far as the official DLC,that is easy. Just pay I think it's $10 for the RS2012 import tool on steam and all the DLC you paid for and all but 2? Of the on disc songs will be redownloaded from Steam.

  8. It was never in RS1. It is an unlockable in RS2014. I think there may have been a custom for RS1, but since it's now an official, you won't find it here. In order to unlock things complete the missions. Which means you will be spending time in session mode.
