  1. I've updated the 1st lead CDLC based on some of the feedbacks you gave me, and I have to say, it looks already way better, thanks again for that. I've uploaded a v1.1, but I'll update the other tracks the same way next time. I agree with that, unfortunately I'm limited by my knowledge of guitar gears. I'll have to work on this part once I'm more advanced. This part is fixed, that changes a lot the feeling. Unfortunately I ran into a few weird issues that prevented me to do exactly what I'd have prefered (I'll send some screenshots to explain those issues) Good catch, I think it's correct now. Correct. The handshapes fixed it. Agreed. I made a change in the hand position, but not sure I't enough. Probably an issue due to the fact I had to change from the original capoed version to one without. I'll try to find a better way to play it if my changes are not sufficient. Thanks again for your help.
  2. Ok, so I've spent more time than I would admit to try to understand how a handshape is supposed to be displayed... I thought you were talking about arpeggios the way Guitar Pro see them: A bit like something we see sometimes on Rocksmith like for Creep (Stone Temple Pilots) or more formally like this: But most of the time just like a chord like on Second Chance by Shinedown: I finally understood it's about displaying the fingers at a specific place for a long series of notes, like indeed I should have done on this CDLC... This leads me to a question: is there any rule about when to use one or the other of the 3 ways to show an arpeggio? (not the handshape)
  3. Sounds good, i'll dig into it, thanks a lot for the data and the extra info ;)
  4. Thanks, that's extremely helpful. I'll make adjustements accordingly. I used the official Shinedown tones, except for the chorus on the rhythm part I made myself. I tried to find something to get the same warm tone for the clean part at the beginning of lead tracks, but couldn't find anything close. I have to admit my beginner level, and my knowledge close to zero in terms of tone arrangement, but the kind of feedback you gave me will lead me the right way. Question: as an experienced user, do you think I should remove the titles from Ignition and keep asking for beta tests, or upload and improve quality with later versions? (that's why I think some kind of rating would be useful) Note about arpeggios: I realized that, but on the official DLC "Second Chance", at the beginning of the song, there's also arpeggios that are displayed as chords. That's why I didn't bother, but I definitely could change that. I'll probably have more questions while editing the songs, I'll let you know.
  5. Thanks for your feedback! @@raynebc I'm all in for the Go PlayAlong XML format. If you also have a link to some samples, that'd be perfect. @@firekornIndeed, I suppose everyone has his own way to create CDLCs, and yeah, I guess it fits my needs because of the way I do it :) Absolutely no issue with your opinion, I'm new to all of this, so it's interesting for me to know how other people work. It's also why I asked *if* such a tool would be useful to others ;)
  6. Update: added What a Shame I think I'll rework Breaking Inside with what I've learned in the making of that one In progress: fixing issues on Breaking Inside - Lyrics sync - Hand position - Fade in / out on the preview audio
  7. Well, no problem when you write (or edit) the GP file. You could say the same about the guitar parts anyway, couldn't you?
  8. @@raynebc Try this one, hats off if you find any lyrics sync issue: http://www.mediafire.com/?kr7us6grbztqh
  9. Maybe it doesn't always work, but you'd be surprised @@raynebc As long as the BPM is perfectly steady (and it was for the 2 titles I worked on) it's perfect. I'll send an example a bit later, and let you judge the result.
  10. Hi all, When I first tried to create a CDLC, I gave a try to UltraStar Creator, and it really is fun, almost a game... But in terms of accuracy, it's not really ideal. So I'v created a little tool that convert a MusicXML output from Guitar Pro into the TXT lyrics file based on USC's output. So far it's just a Visual Studio project with no UI not even a command line, but both could be done quite easily. It's probably not bug-proof, but worked perfectly for the 2 titles I converted. Questions: - Does that kind of tool already exist? - If it was user-friendly, do you think people here would be interested? - To the dev community of CustomForge, I don't mind giving my source / helping with it if you'd like to make it part of a bigger toolkit, let me know if it's the case. Cheers
  11. Hi there, I'm working on that DLC, but to make sure about its quality, I'd like some feedback before I officially send it to Ignition. Note that the Lead part is the only track ready to be tested (maybe the Bass too), still got some work on the other ones (Alt Lead + Rhythm). Remarks, comments, advice, critics, anything will be appreciated :) Edit: v1 uploaded here (but comments are still welcome) http://www.mediafire.com/?pcnt59ew48291
  12. Good point. To be honest, I never really noticed those blue highlights, but it makes sense now. Thanks!
  13. Hi, i know this is an old topic, but I have a related issue and am wondering if there was anything I forgot... On EOF, my sustains are imported from GP as expected: But they won't appear in Rocksmith, even for a full note: Out of curiosity: Isn't "let ring" more or less the same as a sustain? Any suggestion?
  14. Thanks, I'll try that! I also noticed that the note of the harmonic is not the same on the tab and GP. Could that be because of the capo? Sorry to bother you with those questions, I think I took a tab that is way beyond by level ;)
  15. That's what I feared. Guess it's something wrong with the ("official") tab. I had a doubt knowing how reliable it usually is. Thanks again for taking the time to explain!
  16. Thanks for the answer @@firekorn, unfortunately if it worked for the fret 2 (transformed into 2.4) natural harmonic a bit earlier on the track, on fret 1 the natural harmonic option is grayed out. (I checked out of curiosity and It's available almost for every fret but 1, 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, 23)
  17. Hi, Maybe it's a trivial question (I admit I'm new to all of this), but on the song I'm currently working on, there's an harmonic located three-fourth the distance between the 1st and 2nd frets. I don't know if these information are relevant, but just in case: - Drop D - Capo on the 1st fret (yeah, this one is definitely relevant :)) - Pitch: G# - The way I see it on the source, it's supposed to be a natural one... but it's not possible, is it? Question is: how do I write that in Guitar Pro? Thanks!
  18. Looks like it's the place to tell the people what I've done and what I'm working on, so here it is! Done: Shinedown - Breaking Inside (feat. Lzzy Hale of Halestorm) - v1.1 Shinedown - Cut The Cord - v1.0 Shinedown - Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide v1.0Shinedown - If You Only Knew v1.0 Shinedown - What a Shame v1.3Shinedown - Devil v1.0 Halestorm - Familiar Taste Of Poison v2.3 Halestorm - Freak Like Me v1.0 (no bass for now) Note: I'm eager to get feedback. If you have anything to say, comment, request, idea, anything, please let me know
  19. Fair enough. Guess I'll have to learn exactly how that search widget works. That being said, my other suggestions remain. Thanks for the links ;) Ceci dit j'ai vraiment cherché.
  20. Hi gang, Sorry, I suppose that topic has already been discussed but I wasn't able to find anything. I was just thinking it would be quite useful if we were able to check the overall quality of DLCs by having a rating system. Maybe using different criteria, fidelity to the original track, tuning, audio quality, etc. + overall Another thing in the same idea could be difficulty, either selected by the CDLC maker of the community. Also, could be nice to have the information on the source used to make the CLDC (official tabs, amateur tabs on the web, personal interpretation...) And finally, I realized uploading my first CDLC that I couldn't select different tuning for the different tracks (in my case, guitar is in D standard and Bass in Drop D) it's just a detail, but well, won't hurt mentioning it :) Have a nice day \o/
