  1.

I think it's pretty good. The bandmates in that situation are probably very good friends with each other. A good friend over that many years is rare and rarer still is more than one!

I have played in the same band for 15 years now(all originals). We have all gone through many relationships, life hurdles and jobs. The weekly 6 hour rehearsal room jam is like a sanctuary for the three of us.

We have released two albums and are about to release our third. The first was self recorded, the second and third in a friends home studio. The third one has 36 songs on it so we will split it up over one album (best of the best) and the rest as EP's.

We play about once a month and we love it. I really hope we can play for 15 more years but our drummer is in a more famous band and doesnt have the time anymore...which may change after we get even more famous haha(unlikely).

That's amazing dude! Remember, enjoy every momment of it while it last. Sadly The singer of my teacher's band past away recently :(

  2. Did you check the song in game? And yes The Trooper comes wih RS2014 edetion (and RS2014 Remastered) as Syvaa mentiond it, so if the song is not showing up in the "Learn a song" menu, then i suggest you to reinstall the game.

  3. Ask yourself what you makes you think the tone is bad in the first place and work back from there.  Is it too bright, too fizzy, too bassy, too honky, not enough gain?  An EQ pedal would provide more benefit than screwing with a distortion pedal your digitial amp may not play nice with.

Also, what are you comparing your tone to or what artist are you trying to emulate?  Don't compare the tone your getting from the amp to what you hear from your favorite albums.  A miked amp tone with all the recording studio eq'ing/wizadry is quite unobtainable in your bedroom (unless using cab/mic simulation software).

A good practice with digital amps I've found is to go through each amp model with just a touch of reverb with all tone settings set to 12:00.  From there weed down to 2-3 amps (Clean, crunch, high gain) that you like best.  Then tweak tone/gain controls for those as necessary to sweeten them further.  Try to live with those 2-3 amps for atleast a month and play the guitar vs. tweaking knobs to no benefit to your playing.  You may find that the core tonal eq structure of the Marshall isn't for you, but give it some time.

What kind of guitar are you using?  Strat with single coils vs single cut with humbuckers makes a huge difference.

Goodluck and take notes as prior poster mentioned.

thank you. I'm currently using (i mean i play this guitar currently the most ) a Cort X4 one. 24 frets with a tremolo bridge and emg humbuckers. I've managed to get an almost decent tone. Maybe i'll leave a link in my next comment for you to hear how it sounds (altogh i'm going to record it with Fl Studio and i have to managed to set that up good :P )

and also yeah, i've came across this point, so i already know that i should not compare it to album tones dues to the fact that's goes through a lot of editing and mixing and it's affected by the guitar player too. but thanks anyway :)

  4. firstly play some music through (e.g. plug your phone in) it for half a dozen hours or more with cushion or something in front of the speaker (to bed the speaker in)

get the amp up off the floor (the tone changes dramatically depending on height and placement in a room)

is it open back? if so you need to have play with the distance from a wall or just completely open.

typically, the best tones can be found via

adjusting each dial to point where it dips in an out (the sweet spot) sonically (on tone dials & gain dial) - that'll give you a basic clean to break up to be adjusted by your guitar volume/tone dials

make note of your settings then tweak from there, to each type of tone you want

    again take notes

    of the best settings.

that's my method, but I could be completely wrong.

yeah, i've managed to get a somewhat decent tone right now.thanks

  5. I'm still getting familiar with my "New" amplifier but i can't make a good tone on my own.

I think i'll do what everyone else does, keep the amp with a clean tone and make  distortion tone  with a pedal.

(i already have a Dunlop Cry Baby Wah pedal)

So do you think you could give me any suggestions ? :D

Note: 1.)My amp is a Marshall Code 50 Digital Combo amp (the current preset is "Classic Metal")

2.)Not sure how relevant is this, but here is a picture of the "current settings" on what i have

  6. I got these not so long ago ( expect the guitrar,i've got that for almost 2 months ago, lol)

And here is some pic  :D

1.) This is Marshall Code 50 (watt) digital combo amp. Tbh, i like the sound of it, but i'm wondering if a tube amp can be better then this... what do you think?

    AKDr2wG.jpg

2.)Next up is a Dunlop Cry Baby Wah pedal. I can't really try it still, because (note:i'm still a noob at gears so of course i'm gonna mess something up) i stll need an adapter to use it.

Actually,i wouldn't mind if someone might help me. Do i really need a Dunlop ECB003 or a DC Brick power supply to use the pedal or i can replace it with something else (and yes, i put a battery in the pedal and i have a cable that connects the pedal to the amp itself)

3.)Last,but not least i got this Cort X4-Bk seris for 2 months ago and i really enjoy it :D Still, even if it's doesn't have a floyd rose, it's still awsome. The only Problem i have is the first fret on the (high) e, b and g strings are "dead"  so that's bit of a shame. I changed the factory strinfg once, and i put 10t gauges to it (the original was 9) and then the guitar was very hard to play, until my brother visited us and showed me how to adjust the tremolo bridge (the screws that are changing the the strings "height"(if i can call it that way)).The thing is that, once i changed the strings the dead sounds (a.k.a fret buzz)went away, but came back after the changes in the tremolo bridge

    Cheers!

  7. I think it has much to do with promotion and advertisement, it requires more business talents, then artistic.

You need a good manager, a famous label, people who really want to turn you into cash.

Most famous bands aren't really great musicians or players anyway.

Most of time they play for a big ignorant audience, who would not even notice a tone change.

And this audience is expecting more of the same, which ultimately kills creativity.

Jumps to my mind Linking Park, Bon Jovi, Coldplay.

Rush, what musically poor stuff they made since they entered the hall of fame.

And then Managers tend to impose an "Image"

Something that captures the attention :

Jumps to my mind - Ghost - really pushed forward to win prizes they don't deserve, considering the level of art.

Prizes specially made for hidden promotion.

    Like an Armani catwalk.

Finally it's about keeping your soul, not selling it, making the music you feel you need to play,

and not play what most people want you to play.

So not becoming famous is really something to be proud of,

being recognized by musicians is much more rewarding.

Yeah, all true, altough i'm still loyal to the "make music with your own touch" thing. Even tought i'm still trying to find my voice on guitar or even in music. The best thing is when someone listens to a lot of genre (like me, lol) and then you eventually inpired by those artists, so you use everything to make your music. Still, lot of people don't realise that rock has a lot of genre and each sound way different than the other one.

  8. Not everyone can be the be in the top 10 of the best artist of all time :)

And it's not always desired by the band itself. Being able to have fun with your passion even if it stays in a relatively small state is far from a bad thing at all.

There's tons of band out there that only play locally and don't have millions of fans all around the world and i don't wish for any of them to stop doing what they love at all.

And it's hard to keep a band together for 30 years, a lot of people don't keep their wifes/husband that long...

That's true, and of coure i'm not saying that they should be in the top 10 best bands of all time either :D  most of my fav. bands like Godsmack or Billy Talent are not in that well known area like AC/DC or Metallica but still. I hope that one day i'm going to reach their level :)

  9. I really don´t know...

I know a few musicians (mostly from buying their guitars ;) ) and the ones making a living out of it they play in cover bands performing questionable music on public events.

The ones making their own music are all far far far from being able to make a living out of it, do it as passion or hobby if you like besides their day jobs.

If you ask me the latter is a real cool desirable thing.

I want to do both tbh :D i really feel like i could do all these, like for example  write songs, go on gigs and tours etc. and i feel motivated to do it,(even in my darkest days ,lol) but how would i know these (some might say) i'm only 18 years old :D

  10. Personaly i don't know. I don't have a band yet, but i'm still hoping to be in one.

I kinda feel bad for my guitar teacher having his more then 30 year old band and don't have major succes and carrier like Metallica had (still has, lol).

What do you think? Do you know someone particular or just heard of that?

btw: here is one of their gig from 1992, he is the solo guitrarist ( not the one who has the flying v :D )

    Their band is called "Algernon"

  11. I'm not sure what's worse here.

The fact a creator don't seem to care enough about his creation to try to make it as good as possible, the creator that complain about the lack of feedback or the user that complain about CF issue about posting feedback making this an infernal loop where everyone blame the others for his shortcoming.

Yes, a creator that create a CDLC that clearly lacks some important factor to make it enjoyable for the user isn't nice and is a problem.

Yes, the lack of feedback on CDLC and the fact people don't recognize the work put into CDLC is a problem.

Yes, CF has some issue with some user regarding post.

But none of this should stop anyone to :

Try to create CDLC as best as possible.

Try to make CDLC for your own enjoyement of the creation and not to gain fame or feedback.

Try to give feedback by different means like PM for example.

We know that some issue has to be resolve and can be done on our end but we are all working on CF for free and some things takes time to put into places especially when it come to make engagement between creator and user easier. We know not everything is perfect but simply putting the blame and each other like those post won't make things better at all.

    Totally agreed.

However, i'm not trying to be mean, so don't get me wrong.

But, there are some situations where people do not work with their customs other than sync (or trying to snyc it) and that's all.

No nvestigation that the tab is good or atleast SOUNS familiar with the original song or to do tone changes (but the last one is not so much bad as the first one).

Again, don't get me wrong, i'm not talking about beginners who for example do theri first customs and/or just started to make them.

  12. I've been playing now for 3 years now and i only have a cheap amp (Marshall mg 10cf) and my 3 guitars. (and rocksmiht of course duh).

But something tells me that i might need to add something to these. Like pedals for example. I've kinda want to get a good overdrive pedal and a distortion one, but i'm not realy a gear geek sadly (don't know much about gears).

I also have a feeling that it's not necessary yet, because i don't have a band to play with and that's the other thing that bothers me. I've already written down more than 20 riffs for song ideas and don't have people to share with them.

  13. @@ShrillBear52, lol, you've got nice procrastination degree here?

as for pofile stuff, maybe it's ubi's account related or steem playing badly with you :D

try reinstall the game and run it as admin.

win 10 has overhaul on audio side with creators update and you need re-configure it again, I also go with default drivers i.e. no realtek drivers installed! also it's all check-boxes checked on last tab with 16bit 48000 hz

    p.s

    ninjad

sry i'm a bit dumb but what exactly do you mean by procrastination ? :D

also, re-configure the game audio settings you mean?

once upon a time i was able to play rocksmith and speak with my friends at skype at the same time and was able to record the game with OBS and had sound (not that good honestly) but I don't know what have changed since then. These were also before I had win10

  14. I don't like to complain at all but i have to say this ROCKSMITH IS FUCKING UNPLAYABLE!

My profile got damaged somehow (atleast that's what the game says) and that wouldn't be a problem because i can make a new one. But the problem with that is the game itslef does not remembers any progress with any profile. In other words: if i make a profile and make some progress with it and then quit then  open it again if i chose that profile it starts with the basics when you first play rocksmith.

Not even mention that the guitar sounds like fucking megaladon diarrhea shit even with or without headphones.

So please can anybody help me with those issues? I haven't play rocksmith normaly for a month now because i had to reinstall my windows 10 in that time and since then it's sucks very much so.

I feel very stressd out  and anxious and do not have any motivation to continue playing at all  :(
