I like beginner songs that are like this, where it's just one thing idea repeated and near the end of the song I learned how to play it
This was harder than I thought for me
It's a 7* probably because of the solo, but I might work on it this week just focusing on all the other parts and see where it leads to
Not sure if the solo is possible to 100%it because of Rocksmith's recognition issues.
It's all enjoyable songs

Thank you Big congrats to you too!! Looked like you practiced it a bunch as well to succeed!
Hard work pays off! (..eventually)1 minute ago, Rodman said:Prima!!!!! That´s the spirit.... Oh boy... YEEEEAH!!!!
How tough was it? I remember fighting one week on Rize Of the Phoenix to get to Adv - superintense, superhard!
You Rock!!!
Rod.
Thank you as well
I gotta check that one out then to see if it's a similar difficulty, I think that song was before I joined
It wasn't that tough in the end, just more of the practice I put in the weeks before was paying off after a couple of days of practicing for an hour.I was trying hard the last 2 weeks to rank up with the following songs:
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Cornflake (6.5 diff)
Sparton - Verwirrklichung (5 diff)They both had a little bit of a recognition issue so it was hard to get to 99%+
But I learned to play more accurate+faster with both of them- 7

As you see, for PPC-Cornflake all paths are quite similar. I had it clear that for bass would be 7,5, meaning is above the highest difficulty in advace bass (from my experience), but too predictable to be 8. For me, the lead part was advance, but I rated it 6, since it lacked a difficult solo and I thought it is not difficult enough to get a promotion... My real problem was actually how to rate the rhythm, and now I understand from both of your ratings that if you play the same thing in lead and rhythm, you should rate it the same. My theory was that if it lacks a difficult solo in lead, the rating would be lower for lead than rhythm, but maybe I was wrong and you should rate it the same because it is the same instrument...
I also think Lead and Rhythm could be treated differently from each other
I think a good way to think about it is that rhythm players are expected to be better at complex chords and strumming patterns than a Lead player of the same skill.
So when a song has complex chords it's a little harder for a lead player to play well on the first try, but a Rhythm player has an easier time with it. Meanwhile, solos/ and more complex riffs might be a little harder for a Rhythm player to play well the first time or in general1 hour ago, aNDESmASAMUNE said:By the way, I had been thinking about this for a while, and I want to propose we create a new thread about "Songs added to the SSL", in which we announce the songs we added (which I am curious to know), and we can have this kind of discussions about ratings IN ADVANCE, so that we have many more songs that are tested, and we all become better at rating and have a common understanding about it. When adding songs to the SSL, I always have many doubts (as everything in life!) and wanted to discuss that, but felt that there was no place to discuss the ratings... What do you think???
I was thinking about something like that as well, I wouldn't want to host a week, but I wouldn't mind playing a few more songs throughout the week and giving them a diff. rating now and then.
Having a discord or something like that might work too, automatically posting new entries to the server wouldn't be too difficult either and any person could just react to the song with numbers emoji from 1-9 difficulty. Could be also nice to chat about some things more easily.
But having only this place for the championship community might have more advantages and is way less work to maintain.1 hour ago, aNDESmASAMUNE said:Bravo!! Well done! I think won't have time to improve it tomorrow but you go for it, man!

quick improvement
I just need more practice on the second riff and learn how to finger that F#Maj7 chord (I was trying to barré it, but now I think using all 4 fingers might be better for me)- 3

You're quite good at it already though, I think you could 99%+ this with some more practice
(99% at a higher class should be eligible for a rank-up as well?)--
Meanwhile, my first try of the day is not looking quite as good, but I'll keep going at it

CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!!!
YEEAAHH!!!
I am glad everyone is having fun here.
Here we go!!

As @ BubbleWrapDragon , I am also having problems getting recognized the slides and bends... I need like a zen monk's patience (which I don't have of course) to practice very dam carefully to overcome this .
practicing with the recording on a loop is probably more fun in this situation than being disappointed with Rocksmith's recognition all the time
---I'm trying to get the adv. song up to speed, in theory, it should be easier to 100% it than the 'The Hives' one
But my fingers still need more practice to become fast and precise at the same time, gonna try my best until Saturday

A bunch of stuff in here I need to get better at, but it's also the things that RS has trouble picking up even when I do it right in RR(high note bends, Chord slides,1/2step bends) it's a little discouraging sometimes
I guess I'll have to try to rank up next week, as long as there's a 5*+ in int

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 538
in Rocksmith Championship

@ Rodman
My first try at that song - I think it's a harder song than Karma Chameleon was, especially with all the more uncommon chords and there are some quick changes in it as well.
With all those breaks in there in a 6 min long song as well it's gotta be nerve-wracking when you're attempts are close to 99% accuracy
Was that song a 5 as well back then?
