Nice scores on White Zombie both! And you both mentioned sore arm / fighting stamina issues with the song. This is going to sound crazy, but try the custom for Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce:

    http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/through-the-fire-and-flames-r2097

Guitar parts are pretty insane I assume, but the bass is actually pretty easy except for the pure speed and sections of doubletime strumming. And that speed keeps you busy for the whole length of the song, over 7 minutes of alternate picking or developing lightning finger speed (I can't do fingers, gotta use pick for this fast). But it is a fun 7+ minutes, and after a couple of weeks of playing it quite regularly I noticed that it massively improved my pick-hand stamina for fast songs.

Black Sunshine is much more difficult from a frethand perspective, but my right/pick hand hardly breaks a sweat after having used Through the Fire and Flames as sort of a go-to warmup song for a while. :)

As i can use some speed exercise thx for

the hint - am gonna check out the dragonguys!

  2. Damn it @@Rodman you're making want a Bass. Maybe next year I'll get one and join in the Bass fun. At times it actually feels like there are more Bass fans than Electric here, quite interesting cause I always got the impression that Bass was less popular, perhaps just a quieter majority.

    Lol!

Me too was never interested in basses, always wondered why anyone would ever wanna play bass when he/she could go for

    A guitar...

Well my first emulated bass line (drunk) was real fun, then Motive jumped right in as evil pusher (thx loads), and 10 days later i own 2 basses :) ...

My main instrument is gonna stay the guitar for sure, but its realy fun to do the bass lines each week and - it sounds damn mighty...

A well usable new bass is sold for less than 80€ / 100$, it's smthg you are gonna use at least once a week - for you as for me i'd say decision made :)

I think one real argument for the two week schedule is more competition by more competitors finding time to play - when we look at week 44 - mc jump into the fire that was held for two weeks there is an all time record in number of mc competitors - 13(!).

On the other hand i took two wins and a 2nd place in my entries - not that i'm not happy, but it might have partly to do with the # of competitors: 3, 2 and 1 (!) ....

As the vote for or against seems to be on the edge, and we do have lots of experience with the one week - why not give the 2 weeks a try for two times, and vote for or against in a months time when we know if its boring or good....

Sorry but your argument is wrong the number of participant are a mix between int and MC player and there's less MC player for Jump Into the Fire Lead part than during the 43th week...

Damn, you are right, forgot about that!

No extra load on he mods when we go 4 classes / 2 weeks

Personally I find the competition to be fantastic, when I'm busy or tired I just play RS like Rock Band, pick a song, play it, move on to another song. I never really concentrate on learning properly and as such my skills probably suffer for it.

The competition gives me a goal, a song to concentrate on for a good reason, thus improving my ability to learn and my accuracy and clarity. Making customs is also a good way to learn too. When you're looking at the same notes for hours it really drills it into you.

Same situation here - gives me a so needed goal to improve on one or two specific given songs .

For me the extra week would be a clear benefit to push the score and my skills further instead of starting over again.

  6. +1 both votes...

    - 2 weeks:

Oh i wish i was back @ university or school :) - just wait till you got a time consuming job, family with 2 kids and then you look back and compare the spare time for hobbies ;)

For me, and i am a bloody beginner one week is quite unsatifying most of the time. Though having stopped all other activities aside and thus getting 60-90 mins 3-4 times a week aint enough to master my classes song, absolutely no time to really learn the next classes song.

And i think i am not alone...

I have checked the leaderboard from the beginnings yesterday and if you look back only a few months lets say to week 15 about all the competitors have left (!) - so why is it. Not enough challenge? - probably not! No motivation - i dont think so... I fear it´s the no time to get it done in a proper way situation which could be solved by doubling the time.

Right now 2nd week ´tallica still heavy competition going on.

For the question if any class should be held for 2 weeks or only mc - from a beginners pov i gotta say who is gonna need more time to get their song straight and make it sound good (even on a real amp (which you should)) a master or a beginner, besides and for me that is really important - if there was more time we would have the opportunity to play a bit of our purchased DLC and all the other gr8 songs we wanna learn...

For the argument you might be stuck in a song you hate for 2 weeks - well 4 classes will give you like always a second song at least playable for your suitings...

    - 4 classes:

From a beginners pov who will most probably never reach mc 2 classes in between would be wonderful - if there is enough competition!

    - more players:

...does not mean we have to do massive propaganda, players are joining every week. What is needed to be done is keep them competing by as stated above maybe giving them more time, and i really think the badges in the avatar region Joey was talking about to the board admins would be a huge motivation - showing gold, silver, bronce for each class/arangement for the reigning champs.

@Motive@Mortalo maybe you could ask again if there is a chance to get those... besides the motivation would be an excellent advertisment for the contest to every active forum member.
