  1. Sorry, guys.  I failed to post a score last week.  Between trying to join a band, learning songs (yes, learning) and sorting out our drummer's issues, I just didn't get time.

I did have my first jam session with real people yesterday though.  It didn't go too badly...  :o but to say I'm a little tired is an understatement.

I really should have done it years ago though...

Maybe I'll have time after our next jam (Thursday) to give the CS a go again.  :)

  2. Very late start, first go:

I thought I'd have in in score attack:

But, no, it really is beastly.  So I gave in another go in LAS, with the intention to stop and practice "that bit", but I thought I was doing better so just played on:

Obviously, I wasn't doing that much better... lol.

  3.

I think some scores were left on the board from last week.

I have scrubbed @@Fandaru, @@Rodman, @@Anwyn and adjusted @@Telboy's scores off Adv Rhythm, and taken @@MellonFarmer's off GoG.

If you could all check your latest scores are all up there, and there are no spurious ones, that'd be grand!

(Also the sort function appears to be broken on GoG...)

    My scores are fine now.

I don't know how many people are involved in the data entry, but if you need help I'm up for it.

@@Rodman would be the man to talk to.  ;)

  4. @@missis sumner How do you play the game? Because there are other variables that could induce latency. Plus, I've also heard that you'll want to primarily use the real tone cable since it works best but idk.

I play on my old MacBook Air.  I've got the input selection within Rocksmith set to "mic" and I'm using a generic analogue to digital USB cable, like this:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alesis-AudioLink-GuitarLink-Plus-Interface/dp/B004LUH5UI

I've no doubt the game works best with a Realtone cable, but not with mine it doesn't - it's broken!

  5. Is it still the goddamn cable?

Yeah they are sooo badly build. My advice is clear: NEVER plug the RS cable directly into guitar/bass.

Yes, it is.  I'm playing on a generic Maplin one as a mic input to the game, and whilst I seem to have sorted the volume issues (it's an awful lot louder than the Realtone cable), it takes a while for the game to recognise that I'm playing a note, to the point that if I'm not ahead of the beat, it doesn't register some things.

I will have another go at my settings again tonight.

  6. I know the organizers have a lot to do and are doing a brilliant job but has anyone thought of adding another challenge either weekly or bi-weekly ?

The way I see it is that it some of the contestants find it quite easy to follow the pretty colours and have a good score right from the off but improvement is limited from then on but are you really learning the song or just following the notes ?

So why not have a Master mode challenge on a nice and easy song each week, no notes showing, no pretty colours, just yourself and your guitar/ bass.

If the song is pretty easy then everyone can join in regardless of finger/ pick or hand skills and can actually be able to play the song without the aid of the highway.

Just an idea because some of my 100%’s That I found pretty easy I could never ever play without the Rocksmith notes prompting me, just wondered if it might be fun.

I'd be happy to challenge you to bass MM battle on Stir It Up (cable permitting), since I can already play that one without the notes!

You have a very valid point, Rocksmith teaches you to play, but it doesn't teach you how to learn a song.  And it's so much damn fun to play Rocksmith that even if you do want to actually learn to play, it's difficult to tear yourself away.  Damn you Rocksmith (and your shitty dying cables)!  ;)  :P
