  1. Ahh, okay. If it was DLC that you legitimately purchased, you're probably better to ask for support at the Ubisoft forums, or maybe the Steam forums. On thing to try first is to restart your computer, and relaunch Steam. This will force Steam to renumerate your game content and your DLC licenses. **Edit** Just thought I would add this... You don't need to move any of the RS1 .dat files into RS2014's dlc folder. The files (on-disc and dlc) are actually already there in the files rs1compatibilitydisc and rs1compatibilitydlc files. Buying the disc import tool just gives you the licenses to run the content in those 2 files. Of course you will only get access to the dlc that you have purchased, not all of it.
  2. Do you mean that the RS2014 songs now no longer show up in the game? Or do you mean that the RS1 DLC files don't show up? When you buy RS1 and the disc import tool, all that you get is the on-disc tracks included with RS1. You do not get any of the DLC released for RS1. You would have to buy them separately.
  3. I run it on a stock Macbook Retina (late 2013 model) with 8GB RAM and Intel Iris graphics. It runs fine on default settings, and doesn't get too hot. I play in 90 to 120 minute sessions (or until my battery dies) and the only time I get issues is when the battery drops below 5% remaining. Oddly enough though, it's never a graphical issue, but a sound issue. I know my battery is getting close to done because the audio in Rocksmith gets choppy and grainy. No need to worry about a ground loop for me either. I run the audio through my amp or Denon 7.1 receiver using either a standard 3.5mm audio cable or through Airplay.
  4. Yeah, likely velcro. Or, if you do what I do, I use those 3M magic strips or whatever they're called. It leaves no sticky residue on either the guitar or the phone, and holds the weight perfectly. I love my iRig HD for when I'm travelling and don't want to bring an amp. I can use my computer and Guitar Rig 5 and still get great sound.
  5. Glad you got it working. Maybe you didn't have an admin privileges on your previous user account. Anyway, glad you got it figured out. Now say goodbye to your family and loved ones for a while as you disappear into the wonderful world of customs.
  6. I'm actually just about to leave for work, but I can definitely jump on Skype when I get home if you still haven't figured it out. I hate to leave you hanging like this, but hopefully somebody else with Mac experience will jump in and try to help. As a last suggestion, try restarting your Mac.... doesn't usually relate to Mac's, but rebooting is the #1 fix for most PC issues, so maybe you'll get lucky.
  7. So just to clarify, it doesn't open a second RS icon on the dock? I'm asking because I play RS on both a Macbook Retina and a Mac Mini. On my Macbook, RSInjector opens RS instantly and goes directly to the game. However, on the Mac Mini, it opens RS, but doesn't launch directly into the game. A second icon opens in the dock (the real Rocksmith icon) but I have to click on it to bring the game out of the background. So the first few times it did that I thought it wasn't opening the game. I went as far as redownloading/reinstalling everything, only to have the same thing happen.
  8. One more thing I just thought of.... When you launch RSInjector, does it open a second RS icon? (Same icon as RSInjector, the pick with the "R" in it)
  9. I don't think so. I have mine in my Apps folder, but I also ran that one from the second link I posted (which was just taken from the Tutorial post) from my Downloads folder. I'm pretty sure the app is scripted to look for the Steam folder, regardless of where the RSInjector app is. Did you install Steam and RS into it's default folders? Or did you move anything? And do you have any other kind of software installed that might block third-party apps from running?
  10. Yeah, you can only play the customs if you run the game through the RSInjector app. I'm running out of things to try.... but is your user account on your Mac an admin account? And do you have the proper permissions to run RSInjector? You can check by right-clicking and selecting "Get Info". You should have read/write permissions, though by default pretty much any account should at least have read permissions. I don't think the app needs to write anything, but I'm grasping at straws here...
  11. Just to rule it out... Does RS2014 open normally? What I mean is, if you open Steam and run the game normally, does it open?
  12. Yeah, somethings wrong with the upload. When I download it, I get the Contents folder from inside the app, but not the app itself. Give me a few minutes and I'll figure out why that is and I'll reupload a proper version. Or try this one: DOWNLOAD
  13. Weird... It shouldn't have been in a zip folder. It should just have been a direct link to the file itself.
  14. What version of OS X are you running? Is your version of Steam up to date? Also, where are you running RSInjector from (where is the file stored)?
  15. Try redownloading it then I guess. Do you have any anti-virus apps installed (not that Mac needs one, but some people still install them)? Here's my RSInjector, the one I am currently using so it is confirmed to work: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yrgt8i4cijurwnd/AAA7tugaAGIh6Fe_ru9aCAuLa
  16. Are you using the Steam version of RS2014? If so, is Steam open before you run RSInjector? If so, try removing all of the cDLC, and then add just 1 see if that one works. If so, add a few more. There are a few bad cDLC's posted that cause this problem, just by being in the dlc folder. Because of this, I only add cDLC's a few at a time, and test them right away. If one of them doesn't work, I remove it. I also only keep the cDLC that I am currently interested in playing in my dlc folder.
  17. Did you follow the steps I listed above? Here they are again: To get the RSInjector app to run you must allow Mavericks to run software that isn't just from the Mac App Store. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Open System Preferences 2. Click on Security & Privacy 3. On the General tab (first one), under "Allow Apps Downloaded From", change to "Anywhere"
  18. I've been playing for 2 months and never had a problem. Users talk about customs and this site on the Ubisoft forums AND the Steam forums all the time, so it's nothing new to them (Ubi and Steam). I have all of the RS1 dlc and on-disc tracks as well, never had a problem. Changing the AppID would technically fool any DRM checks anyway, since the game thinks all we ever play is Cherub Rock.
  19. I never said it wouldn't work fine. I just have questions and concerns, that's all.
  20. For all of those who want an "approved" section, who is the person or group that will do the "approving"? Are there "expert" guitar players that know for a fact that every cDLC approved is perfect? Please don't think I am implying that an approved list would not help, I'm just curious as to how it would work. What about those songs that are tabbed as the artists' play them live, instead of the studio version (which is the version being uploaded)? There are hundreds of cDLC's uploaded that have incorrect tabs (based on studio versions), and lots that are mashups of the rhythm and lead arrangements. Some people like them, some don't. Who decides what's proper or correct? What happens when the people approving customs get too busy and don't have the time to do it? My questions go on and on. I know the dev's don't want to answer questions about a work in progress, just some food for thought... I think a rating system, as well as some established standards of work, would be better and more useful. Let the community decide what they like and what they don't like. Have a threshold for what stays in the list. For instance, if a track has a rating of 2 stars or less, it gets removed from the list and the author gets notified. After that it's up to them to review the feedback left and make the appropriate changes before resubmitting it. If it has 4 stars or more, highlight it in some way so that it stands out. You could also take the average rating of each of an author's uploaded cDLC to give the author themselves a rating. As for standards of work, that's pretty simple. All uploaded cDLC should have audio that is at least 256kb, where available. I know it's sometimes hard to get older songs (50's, 60's, etc) in higher bitrates, but most popular music has been remastered and rereleased. All cDLC's should have proper artwork, and a proper preview of the song. Obviously they should have proper tones. Each cDLC should have minimum 3 sections: Verse, chorus, solo. Obviously more would be better, but 3 should be the minimum. Naming conventions should be standardized as well. I have to manually go through each cDLC I download and rename it with the following convention: "cDLC - Artist Name - Song Title_Version#_DD". This makes it much easier to find individual files and distinguish version numbers and whether a song has DD or not. It also helps distinguish files from official DLC. Either way, I agree with the OP. There are way too many subpar cDLC's uploaded. And way too many with descriptions from the author along the lines of "I know it's not perfect and the tab is off, but it's close enough". Close enough should never be good enough. Close only counts with horseshoes and hand-grenades. End rant...
  21. To get the RSInjector app to run you must allow Mavericks to run software that isn't just from the Mac App Store. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Open System Preferences 2. Click on Security & Privacy 3. On the General tab (first one), under "Allow Apps Downloaded From", change to "Anywhere" To convert the windows cDLC, you must use RSInjector. Open the app, select the Converter tab, choose PC->Mac, select your file, and viola! You have Mac cDLC. If you don't have the DLC folder in your Rocksmith folder, just create it. Make sure it is named "dlc", and not "DLC". It should be there by default though, if you have Rocksmith 2014, because it should already contain 2 files (rs1compatibilitydlc_m.psarc and rs1compatibilitydisc_m.psarc). If you only bought Rocksmith 1 (the original version) then I believe the process of getting customs to work is different because the file format for RS1 is .dat and not .psarc.
  22. I am also a Mac user, so I thought I might help shed some light on some problems you might be having. I also downloaded that same torrent, and had a lot of problems with the cDLC's in it. Most of them lack tones, which (for me) was what was causing RS2014 to crash. I now only download CDLC's that have been posted here (most of the songs from that torrent are on here btw). Also, there seems to be some confusion as to where cDLC's are supposed to be stored. I have read several tutorials for Mac, and some suggest placing the files in the Rocksmith DLC folder, while others suggest putting them inside the package contents of the RSInjector app. I put them in the DLC folder for Rocksmith and have had no problems with them showing up. As for RSInjector, I had to download the app 6 or so times before it would actually work. All of them were the same version, all direct from the source, but for some reason they wouldn't work. It's not uncommon for the icon to bounce in the dock for a few minutes the very first time you open the app, but it should open instantly every time after. It's also important to note that the app doesn't support many of Mac's quick commands, and you must use the menu's within the app to quit, etc. Many of the functions contained in the RSInjector app also do not work on Mac, but converting and unpacking/packing does. I've only had 1 problem converting a file to mac (Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends) but that's it. Every other file I've converted has worked fine (as long as it has a tone). Here is a link to the RSInjector app I am currently using. This is the file directly from my computer, uploaded to Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wt68cj66anuoo2l/AABiMsV_Zq88k_SbKGD7a6rXa
  23. Looks like the splitter is already built in. Look at the cable just above the second guy's head (the one who is kneeling).
  24. Thanks for the info (I'm also interested in adding missing sections into some of the customs I like). However, can you please expand on your information a little bit please? Where do I find the "guitar_fixed.ogg" file? I've unpacked the cDLC that I want to edit, but couldn't find that file in it's contents. (also, I'm using a Mac if that makes any difference)
  25. I also use a Roland MicroCube while at home. It's small, but packs quite a punch. Doesn't get muffled at low volumes either. I would recommend it.
