  1.

Can confirm I was having the same issue previously - seems fixed now.

Thanks for all your efforts hdnsmbt.  BTW.  Bold worked for me today in Chrome... Yeah!

    Awesome! Two bugs down.

Also, I like the idea that only the song title opens the overlay/song page. I'll look into that. Keep in mind, that this will be in the current dev version, so it'll be a feature that's released with the big new version.

  2.

Can anything be done about the need to refresh the page when you first go into ignition?

Actually, this is the first time I'm hearing about this (make sure to use our Tracker to report any bugs you find). Have you tried clearing your cookies?

I fixed a bug today in Ignition that I think affected you. Can you try now and tell me if you get results on the first page load?

  3. When I tried to look at the newest songs this morning on my mobile, the link I have on my homescreen suddenly guided me to ignition - and I wasn't amused... No songs were listet at all... there was also no refresh button to get the songs - only the magnifying class. After some time I just gave up. Did you test the page on moile devices?

We haven't changed any URLs recently, so I'm not sure about your homescreen link. Check which URL it uses.

search.customsforge.com links to the old Search

    ignition.customsforge.com links to Ignition

We did indeed test Ignition on mobile devices and while it is still in Beta there's a lot of mobile optimization already in there. Tap on the magnifying glass to display the search box and the reset button.

It sounds like you're having an entirely different issue with songs not being listed when you first load the page. Please try clearing your cookies and/or accessing Ignition in a private window and see if that works. PM me if that doesn't work. Also, in the future, please use our Tracker to report any bugs or odd behavior you encounter.

  4. OK, after so many people having problems with the updated entries being bold I'm pretty sure there's some bug in there still. Let me investigate and try to fix that. That feature, however, is still very much there and will stay because we all love it.

As for the colors, I can only ask for your patience again and again. We're a very small team who all have personal lives and development takes time because we want to make sure we do it right the first time and not risk losing any user-created data. This doesn't apply to the CSS (the colors, if you will), of course, but that's part of a bigger re-design we're in the middle of. This re-design means implementing a lot of features that were previously provided by customized plug-ins, so while we're working on new features for Ignition, we also have to bring a number of basic features on par with what we had before. This includes submitting new CDLC, commenting on CDLC, notifications and a lot more.

Rest assured, all of your suggestions are being weighed and discussed internally, and everything that can be added without breaking existing features or other user's experience, we're trying to add. So, black and white theme with green highlight color? You got it!

First, though, let's fix those bold entries.

  5. Quick question, I can see you have info on if DD is present but is there a spot that will tell you how many difficulty levels there are? Excited to watch this beauty grow...thanks again!

I second this suggestion.  Knowing the number of difficulty levels is important to beginners.

What kind of filter would you like to use for this column?

I think a dropdown box with values from 1 through 10 might be a good solution but I'd like to hear what you think first. Do you have any "threshold" value that we should add, like "more than 5" and "fewer than 5"?

  6. Just to clear this up: bold listings are still a feature. It won't work the first time you visit Ignition, because it can't determine your last visit. Come back after 24 hours and new and updated songs will be bold again.

This is completely independent from the column you chose to order the list, though. Just check your Search Settings (cogwheel button) and choose

    Sort By: Updated

    Sort Order: Descending

to get the same default list as in the old version. After that, no extra clicks are necessary.

Allow me to explain why I think that's not necessary, though. I assume you're interested in getting the most up-to-date versions for the songs you already downloaded and that's why you want to order by "Updated" as a default. In this scenario you would still have to scroll through the list of bold songs in order to find the ones that you already downloaded that have an update.

Well, there's a much easier way to get updates to the songs you downloaded (if you added them to your Collection). Whenever there's an update to a song in your Collection you will get an e-mail telling you so (if you enabled it in your notification settings) and you'll get a notification on customsforge.com. This will be indicated in Ignition too, by the little red square in your avatar picture. Any time you click here it'll show you the updates you have unread notifications for. So, if you haven't visited in a week  you can display just the songs you have updates for and download those. Does that make sense?

  7. Hi, everybody!

I'm really glad to see so much positive feedback on Ignition, it's well appreciated!

Here's a few things I'd like to point out since a lot of people asked:

    1. New stuff since your last visit will still be displayed bold.
But not the first time you visit Ignition (since Ignition doesn't know the time of your last visit yet). Come back after 24 hours and you'll see the new uploads bold again.
    2. Some users are having trouble clicking the navigation buttons.
I think this happens when they have a record overlay or context menu open. Whenever any of those are displayed, the main content is disabled so you can click anywhere in order to close the overlay or context menu. I've implemented a new layer today that darkens the disabled area to indicate this behavior.
    3. Default sort order
You can change your default sort order in the Search Settings (Cogwheel button).
    4. Direct download without adding to or removing from Collection
Ctrl-/Cmd-click on the Add-Button (Plus Sign) to directly open the main download link without adding the song to or removing it from your Collection.

There will probably be more tips to come, but that's all I can think of right now.

One more little thing: when you post an issue in our tracker please be as specific as you can. Please make sure to give an explanation on how to reproduce the issue, this makes the whole bugfixing process a lot easier and faster.

Again, thank you everybody for all your valueable input and keep on rocking hard!

  8. Works awesome, great work!

Really love the "help" feature, some of my websites could really benefit from something like that. If you dont mind me asking, Is it custom developed or a jquery plugin of some kind?

Sorry I took so long to respond. We're using Intro.js for the Help feature. It pretty much works right out of the box so all we did was skin it. If you're planning to implement something similar I can only recommend Intro.js.

  9. i'd also like to suggest a version number in the cdlc search so it's easier to see if someone has updated the song without having to actually go to the download page.

    :)

We're not going to add any more features to Search 2 now as we're working on its successor, but you might consider following the CDLC you download. That way you'll get a notification if a new version is uploaded. The follow button is in the top right corner of the CDLC page.

  10. There's actually a couple of ways the number of downloads shown in Search and by your DL provider might differ.

    • We're only counting clicks on the actual "Download Link" on the record page. If you provide the same link in the Author's Notes or somewhere else on the page, someone might click that one and the DL is not counted.
    • We're only counting one click per IP address. Your DL provider might count each individual download.
    • As has been mentioned before, the DL link might have been publicized elsewhere.

As for the update interval, that is immediate. Just reload the page and you'll get the current DL count.

    I hope this helps.
