I hate to sound like a pussy, but please - wear earplugs when gigging.  There is no cure, and no hope.  Now, you can obviously get Tinnitus from things aside from concerts but that's a big contributor.

Mine's pretty severe.  Ambient noise needs to be over 95 decibles in order for me to not hear the ringing. Sleep is a joke, silence forever gone.  If your ears aren't ringing forever already, take measures to try to ensure it doesn't.

I'm a noob too, and I made the mistake of getting a guitar with a Floyd Rose.  My thought process was that I'd rarely have to tune it, which was something I was no good at.  Still not, really.  And the reason is the Floyd Rose.  So while you don't have to bother with the constant re-tuning that a cheap guitar forces you to do, it also stunts your growth as far as learning how to tune it.

I play it with the low E on top, just like the guitar I'm holding.  I find the other way very very strange and not very intuitive.

It also installed "conduit search" and some dumbass "speed up your PC" crap.

Malware / Spyware / Shitware as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not impressed.
