Oh man, I won intermediate?Ha ha!
Now does that mean i have to go to do the intermediate song this week, or can I revert to the beginner that I really am?
-
The pull-off from the A to the hammer-on on the E is what's kiling me....

Man, I just can't get that opening riff right. I know how to do it but my fingers, they ain't cooperating.
This is my best score to date on that. First time with no X's

@@noahfence Awesome work, 79 tries! But not sure about your score, It seems not correct accuracy, because a lot section with dropped levels.
I'll bump up the difficulty all the way in RR to try to square that away. You can disregard that score for now...
It's literally the 1st song I tried to play - been trying since christmas to get it perfect. HA HA

So maybe The Trooper shouldn't have been the FIRST song i tried to learn on guitar...
(Yes, that IS 76 tries!)

Not to be nitpicky, but the intermediate song is spelled Rhyme of the ancient mariner, not Rise. And its changed any way.
...Actually it's Rime
As for the class - it seems I've chosen The Trooper, an intermediate song even though I'm solidly in the beginner status. I'll put up a score on Rhythm in the not too distant future.
Keeping in mind it's literally the only song I know start to finish!
(well, except Blitzkreig Bop!)

I make a complaint about beginner songs being in not regular tunings or songs being 18 minutes long with no riff repeater. I will no longer participate if you think I am only here to complain.
I will also not donate to this site anymore because of you. I see your post as a personal attack at me and that is offensive, I think you forgot what it is like to be a beginner.
Personally I think this exchange is the perfect example of how the internet kills nuanced conversation. People take shit too personal, too quickly.

Thank you for posting, a.peter - i just bought the guitar in your avatar and I just KNEW I saw that headstock somewhere. It was bugging me!

Well the LTD M-100FM finally gave me enough fits with that Floyd Rose, combined with an apparent well-timed Craigslist posting gives you a Hagstrom Ultra Swede:

I think I'm in love all over again. Thin neck that reminds me of the expensive SG's in the store, without the expensive price tag. So far so good.

Comfortably Numb or the MTV Unplugged version of "I will remember" from Queensryche
-
Blitzkreig Bop is easy to learn, only 4 chords. But it's a bitch to play proper. By that I mean it's all downstrokes and really, really fast. Do it with up and down strokes to start with.

That's a hella long list there!
A to-do for me would be Moby Dick and Whole Lotta Love

Straight Up and Down - from Boardwalk Empire

Curious to see what everybody's set list is these days. Mine only consists of 4 songs:
Blitzkreig Bop
The TrooperSynchronicity 2
Piece of Mind (Boston)

John Fogerty in July

I just feel the live version is them often just giving a shit. Often enough the stiudio recordings sound flat and joyless while the same songs live are totally different beasts. Going so far that i only bought live albums of certain artists because their studio work is so blant.
The way I'm looking at it is this - I'm using these to learn the song. As soon as I'm comfortable playing a song outside of Rocksmith, I can embellish and throw my 2 cents in at that time. But I'd like to learn how it's done bare-bones first.

I saw "One" (Metallica) charted and it wasn't the studio version, some sort of orchestra version. Not a fan.

I'm glad I was here on the day it was born! Thanks for taking this monumental task and running with it guys!

Its the never-hear-silence-again thing that gets me going. Grrrr
-
Crashed my toolkit when trying to unpack it
-
Those are real good lessons - but I'm looking for a song that I know, that I can learn my first solos on.

Can any of you fine folks suggest any songs / solos that are strictly using A-Minor Pentatonic? I'm trying to hammer this into my brain before I move on, and I'm thinking playing something familiar would go a long way in keeping it there.
Pre-Thanks!

Which is your most played song?
in Rocksmith Remastered
Posted
"The Trooper" - 80 times (Rhythm) 97%
"Synchronicity 2" - 40 Times (Lead) 89%
"Computer Blue" - 30 Times (Lead) 60%
Next on the docket I figure will be "Funk 49" from the James Gang.
