  1. You'll need to unpack the file, work on the bass part in EOF, then repack. If you're only interested in the bass part, you can repack it with only the bass part.

     

    You can also contact the charter and supply your corrections, I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate that. Most guitar charters have never played bass (and vice versa) -- they're probably just importing GuitarPro files, which are usually wrong.

  2. Start by creating and saving your tones with the exact same names you used to label the tone changes in EOF.

     

    Now use the toolkit's import option -- set it to look for XBOX files. Navigate to the subfolder inside the Steam/Rocksmith2014 folder labeled "remote" -- inside that you'll see a couple of files with _prfldb at the end. Choose the one with a timestamp corresponding to when you created your tones (it's probably the larger one).

     

    this will import all of your custom tones into the toolkit. You can then save the tones you need into the folder with the other files in your project, and assign them to the tracks in the toolkit. Make sure you save the template to the song in the toolkit too -- you'll probably be generating the package several times while you test everything.

     

    You can also add the lyrics directly into EOF, but with Ultrastar it's easier to sync karaoke style.

    Of course the musician's choice their own gear, but  i would say that it is not all about personal taste. Of course the choice of the brand and the guitar etc. but if they have a contract with those Brand. They only use those once as long the contract run. So it not mean automaticly it's all about their taste and attitude. Yeah i talk about the Major bands.

     

     

    Oh I wasn't even thinking about that part! Once you get to the level of corporate sponsorship, that's something else entirely.

    Which is not to mean that everyone has to play a Gibson or whatever. There's a reason Jack White played on Airline guitars. It wasn't for their "awesome" sound. It was part of his whole schtick.

     

    I don't buy expensive guitars personally. I prefer digging around until I find a good deal. I had a great MIJ Strat for a while, paid next to nothing for it. And I like the Chinese-built versions of name-brand guitars. I have a Hofner Verythin CT that's absolutely flawless. The real Verythin is way out of my price league (and I'm hardly good enough to merit that anyway).

  5. Yes, they unlock after a while. It's pretty random though.

     

    I ended up turning off the crowd anyway, since that gives a pretty significant performance hit (I play using a laptop).

     

    And the crowd implementation of RS2014 truly blows -- the ghosts, er, people are all looking the other way, watching a different band on another stage in an alternative universe. And they keep cheering in all the wrong places. And those people filming me with their smartphones? You know they're all iPhone users cause they're all holding their phones the wrong way.

     

    I definitely preferred my robo-groupies in RS1.

    All infos about a song are in the XML file, right?

    I get an error message when i try to import the xml into EOF.

    Is it possible to insert the sections only in the xml file with an xml editor?

     

    What kind of error message? @@raynebc is the person to see for those -- he's one of the EOF developers. It's possible the charter original screwed things up.

     

    At a certain point, it's easier just to start from scratch -- see if you can find the Guitarpro files for the songs you want.

  7. @@Hootzager Oops, sorry, I was thinking of something else.

     

    What you want to do is go into the audio/windows subfolder, take the larger of the .wem files, use the Toolkit's OGG tab to convert that to an ogg file -- you'll use that file to start a new project in EOF. If you don't want to mess with Wwise (don't think that exists for Mac anyway), then use the original .wem files when you repack. But you have to rename them : Give the larger file the name of the song and the smaller one add _preview to the name.

     

    So that would be:

     

    Song.wem

    Song_preview.wem

     

    You'll load the larger .wem into the toolkit, the preview file will be loaded automatically.

  8. Why don't you just change it in the ingame "real tone cable gain"-setting? Doesn't this work for you?

    I imagine it is a bit anoying to go through your system volume settings each time you start the game :smile:

     

     

    That's exactly why they added the in-game gain option, because they couldn't figure out how to prevent Rocksmith from resetting the system volume.

  9. Yes, it's possible to do, but why not try writing to the charter, see if they're willing to finish these customs?

     

    In the meantime, flag these songs as duds -- there's a thread for this. Posting a custom with no sections should not be allowed.

     

    To do it yourself, you'll need the Toolkit, which will allow you to unpack the file. From that, you'll use the guitar_fixed.ogg to start a new project in EOF, then import the .xml files. It's easy to add sections -- you click on the beat marker where you want the section to begin, then hit Shift-S , which opens the dialogue (check the 'add phrase' option too).

     

    When you're done, save the file, then use the new xml files to regenerate the customs. You can use the other files from the original psarc -- the .dds for the artwork, the .wem for the song, the xmls for the tones -- just make sure you choose all of the new xml files.

  10. String trees are a necessity with this kind of guitar. There's not enough downward tension to keep the strings in the nut otherwise. But string trees are cheap.

     

    You can buy decal paper and make your own logo - I've done it. In fact, I have a couple left over from my own Stratobastard build (same concept -- Tele body with a Strat headstock) if you'd like. They're easy to apply.

  11. I have many amps and it sounds great no problem. It's gibson with P90.

     

    Well, in that case, like I said before, try out a y-cable to split the signal to one of your amps. That way you get more control over the level of the guitar too.

  12. I just take a look at the four force page and they don't even indicate the weight or the technology of amplification.

    And comparing the price to what's they "sell", it's seems a bit weird.

     

    I don't trust them at first sight.

     

    PS : Never trust any video of a guitar player who play around with an amp it doesn't necessarily represent what you will be able to get in the end, depending on how they recorded it, the guitar used, the player, and most of the time they don't even show how they set up the amp.

     

    It's solid state but it's wired to emulate a Class A tube amp.

     

    There's an excellent video of them dropping it off a ladder, kicking it around.

     

    It can't sound worse than those Roland Cubes, anyway.

  13. It's easier to set the beatmap before you import the GP file, that way the notes will line up automatically. And it's easiest to line up the beats to the snare drum, since the snare is easy to spot in the waveform.

    That's not what I'm asking. Is it a strat-type? bolt-on neck?

     

    Also, where's the break? If it's the headstock, they can usually be reattached.

  15. I wouldn't worry about a tube amp until you're ready to start playing with a band. But there are affordable entry-level tube amps. The Epiphone Valve series amps are excellent - doesn't look like they make them anymore, but I bought a new Valve Jr. for 100 euros a few years back. 5 watts get really loud, but the really advantage of a low-watt amp is that you get that nice overdrive at lower volumes.

     

    Hybrids are a good option -- usually they'll have a tube in the preamp stage, warms up the sound before it hits the power amp. I had a Vox like that -- Yes, I've had a lot of amps over the years.

     

    Like I said, the Line 6 Spiders sound really great (in my opinion) and the price is right for a beginner, and it gives you a lot of FX to play with, which is fun.

     

    And like I said, if you can extend your budget for an amp with a 12" speaker, you'll have an amp you can use for years. You risk outgrowing the smaller speaker very quickly.

    I tried the usb cable with guitar rig and it sounds muffled. This is probably the reason of the bad sound i get.

     

     

    Well, what kind of guitar do you have? How long have you been playing? Does the guitar sound okay with an amp?

     

    Just in case... make sure your tone is turned up to the maximum. The tone knob acts as a filter, bleeding off the high end of the signal. If it's turned down all the way, the guitar will sound muffled.

     

    Other things that can influence the tone is the distance of the pickups to the strings. There's a sweet spot --if they're too close, they'll sound like crap.

     

    The nut and bridge can have an impact too -- a poorly cut nut will make the strings sound like shit. Same with the bridge.

     

    Of course, the only solution to cheap pickups is to switch them out.

  18. I have a MG10 but it's too limited to be really usefull on the long run but the MG15 you show have many more option so it seems like a good choice. The line6 spider are some really good amps that i can only tell you to go for it if you found one cheap enough for your budget. Know that a low power will limit you quickly, the one that can do more can do less, i have a Mustang III and it's a beast (100W) so if you don't want to move it around, i clearly think you should go for more power but if you need to transport it everywhere better stick to some low power that will be lighter.

     

    I'm guessing he's not ready to start playing with a band yet, so a smaller practice amp is best for playing at home and learning. And yeah, a 15 watt solid state amp will fill a bedroom. I just don't like those smaller speakers, personally, they lose too much of the bottom end.

     

    Once you start playing with a drummer, then a tube amp is pretty much a requirement (in my own opinion -- I find that solid state amps just don't cut through like tube amps do). But wattage with tube amps is pretty deceiving -- a 50 watt tube amp doesn't get significantly louder than a 15 watter, but it can go at higher volumes before you over drive the tubes. I prefer low-watt tube amps. Mine is 5 watts. Plenty loud.

     

    Oh yeah -- once you start playing at those kind of volumes, invest in a good pair of musician's earplugs. Save your hearing.

    I chose the 30 model for the large speaker. An excellent-sounding amp for not much (I paid 100 euros for the Spider III but it was basically new). The models are great and the FX are really good too. Has a built in tuner too, which I liked. It sounds really good even at low volumes.

     

    I'd steer clear of anything with a smaller speaker, the sound gets boxy pretty quickly.
