  1. In that case, are there any songs with overdrive tone that you know of?
  2. Hey guys! I've been trying to do some custom tones for my next CDLC projects (since thats what the previous CDLC's i released were missing) and after i crated it i cannot find it in any of the folders for import into Rocksmith Toolkit. Any idea in what folder they are saved?
  3. Beginner: The Beatles - Twist and Shout (Chosen by the genius of George, John, Paul and Ringo ) http://i.imgur.com/EPjsgKR.jpg Intermediate: Johnny Hallyday - Allumer le Feu (Chosen by @steroma ) http://i.imgur.com/fcOs4gT.jpg Advanced: Iron Maiden - No More Lies (Chosen by @Joey ) http://i.imgur.com/fEPzhNA.jpg Masterclass: Dream Theater - Octavarium (Chosen by @Nacholede ) http://i.imgur.com/VWnnYtd.jpg Conclusion: Good old Beatles song. It has quite nice rhythm to it. The tab itself is not too hard, it features a lot of double-stops. There is a section that might prove to be difficult to the beginners as it requires bit of speed and accuracy together, but the section doesn't last long so its nothing too difficult. Well, this was one of the hardest "Intermediate" songs I've played so far. It had lots of fast sections, along with a few quick solos and a main riff that wasnt really easy. This song could be an advanced song in my opinion. Holy maccaroni! I was judging the book on its cover on this one. I said: "Eh, Iron Maiden! Lots of fast stuff, palm mutes. I won't end up with a good mastery %" I wrong. The song started with a nice damn intro followed by an good main riff that just felt nice to play. At one point there was a sick guitar solo going on, and i was surprised i was still playing the rhythm of the song but then i got a bit of solo to play (which of course was a hard :) ). Overall I'd say this was easier and more fun to play than this week's Intermediate selection. Sorry @@steroma :( Coming into the song, I saw the lenght and all those little towers on the DD tab op top and i was a bit scared for my own finger's safety. Well my concern came true. Its a relly nice song up to at around 60% where all those tall slim towers begin. If you know RS2014, you know thats always the hard solo. Oh boy it was hard. And so long. (pun not intended). At that point i was just improvising as the notes went so damn fast that i couldn't possibly get them into my brain then into fingers. Rest of the song is harder but in a fun way. Also there a one tiny section of it at the end where the solo returns. The Return of The Solo. Easier but still too hard. The song itself was a nice song to listen to.
  4. I got to say that i found myself a bit busy this week so i ended up not playing masterclass song at all. All that matters is that i got Advanced song done , here's the result: http://i.imgur.com/GbHbgO2.jpg I usually make a conclusion here but no time for that this week. Its not like its a must :)
  5. Excuse me if i missed the gender :) Well you DID deserve it, you made a nice list when you didn't have to :)
  6. Thanks dude, ill check them out!
  7. Beginner: Misfits - Dig Up Her Bones (Chosen by @Nacholede ) http://i.imgur.com/Jo1T6jM.jpg Intermediate: Whitesnake - Walking in the Shadow of the Blues (Chosen by @storm20200 ) http://i.imgur.com/vFZPyb7.jpg Advanced: Biffy Clyro - Biblical (Chosen by @Num14 ) http://i.imgur.com/WSfCTGm.jpg Masterclass: Megadeth - Holy Wars... The Punishment Due (Chosen by @SirBlambleOfGam ) (@Nacholede's version here, recommended) http://i.imgur.com/VIwo38B.jpg Conclusion The beginner song was really fun to play and fast at the same time. In my opinion, this song requires more strumming hand workout than the fret hand workout as there are pretty much only basic power chords to be played throughout the song. Whitesnake song would probably have to be my favorite of the bunch. Its like a typical classic rock song. You have the main part of the song where there are double stops / powerchords whit some occassional riff and then comes the solo which is most of the times quite hard. It was indeed one of the harder solos but really fun to play (even tho i didnt hit that much of it). I'd actually say this was easier to me than the Misfits song simply because it was bit more slower and fun to listen to. The Biffy Clyro song gave me a nice tour around the uncomfortrable zone. Couldn't say i enjoyed the ride but a learning experience is a learning experience. It brought lots of new chord shapes to me which got me a while to understand and for my fingers to move correctly. First few tries my fingers were just weird and the chords made no sense to me but after a while the chords started falling into places and i got a nice score on it. I feel violated after playing the Megadeth song. Enough said.
  8. What are some country CDLC songs that are in the customforge database? Im looking to play something from the genre but i don't know a lot of the artists. Thanks
  9. Im glad i started with this week's challenge earlier this week. Advanced class song requires a lot of work because im not familiar with 100% of the chords in the song. The masterclass song makes me happy i went out of that class and it made my hate for metal stronger. Its way too fast for ANY human to hit anything. So many fast changes. I just couldn't... Ended up at 70% on it, would rate myself as -100% on it.
  10. I kinda played 5 weeks in a row without skipping, but i switched class 2 weeks ago so i guess that got my streak broken.
  11. Here are my results for week #47 of the Championship: Beginner: Wolfmother Dimension (Chosen by @MonstaS4 ) http://i.imgur.com/pTPfogZ.jpg Intermediate: Social Distortion - Story of My Life (Chosen by @thecatinthehat ) http://i.imgur.com/tVzEl4w.jpg Advanced: Tom Petty and Heartbreakers - Mary Jane's Last Dance (Chosen by @Motive ) (official song) http://i.imgur.com/PP3d1E3.jpg Masterclass: Metallica - The End of the Line (Chosen by @@Mortalo ) http://i.imgur.com/vLfu5PB.jpg Conclusion So, lets talk about the songs for a bit, shall we? Starting off with the Wolfmother song. song doesnt have anythig special as far as the technics goes but it takes place down at 10- 14th fret which might throw off some beginners (you know cause the frets get smaller and smaller the further down you go? ). Anyway, its a nice beginner song. Story of my life. It wasnt story of my life but its been there for the most of it. I kinda got hooked on this song back in my Guitar Hero 3 days. And once i found it on customsforge, i was bit happy. There is a bit of everything, lots of G, C, D chords (which often get fret hand muted) and lots of easier solo stuff which is fun to play. The solo stuff shouldnt be too hard, its basics. Its the fast changing, muting chords that got me that score.. Tom Petty. God damn i love this man's work. I have probably all of his songs i can find, he's a good artist. That being said, i never played this song on 100% mastery. I got surprised by some stuff in it like a high note after palm muted chord (which i missed most of the time). The man has good solos. Even tho this song didn't have a killer solo (or an obvious solo) its still really fun to listen to and play. Metallica. That pretty much says 1000 words. Basic stuff (chords, single notes on higher frets) but x10 in speed. There is a lot of fast palm mute to un-muted chords and then back to palm mutes so you gotta work that strumming hand pretty bad! Also there is a solo in it that is just a murderous one and it killed my fretting hand :(
  12. Ill play the songs in 12ish hours from this post. I couldn't find the time before, hopefully it will still count.
  13. Before posting my results, i would like to say to the people in charge of this Championship that i want to be demoted to Advanced category. Thank you. I have decided to do that as my scores in Masterclass have not been up to par with the rest and i was flying to close to the sun with it. So naturally i fell down. Sorry for big font and underscore and italic, i felt like it had to be seen. :) Beginner: Three Days Grace - One X (Chosen by @punchyrumble ) http://i.imgur.com/flXd7aI.jpg Intermediate: Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl (Chosen by @Azrael) http://i.imgur.com/FEhhBJ9.jpg Advanced: Tenacious D - Tribute (Chosen by @Rodman ) (Nacholede's version here, I recommend this version :) ) http://i.imgur.com/jc5PqEh.jpg Masterclass: Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing (Chosen by @Mr Pi ) (I acknowledge that the song was also chosen by @Smy ) http://i.imgur.com/izOsxdP.jpg Conclusion ---------------------- This week is the first week with the first week with the new easier masterclass category. Got me bit excited as i was failing in masterclass. Well today's pick for an advanced category was a bit harder than the masterclass in my opinion. I fucking love Tenacious D but i don't like playing most of the songs. The first song was something i haven't played before. Wasn't familiar with the band's work so i went in blind. Kinda linked the song to be honest. It obviously was the easiest of the bunch. Next up would be Jet. Jet song was bugged for me, marked the whole song, moved the difficulty slider and the game crashed. So i think i played with all sections at 100%. Anyway. Bit complicated song as i couldn't figure out the rhythm. But i powered trough it. Ok, the D song. Complicated. Had a complicated solo. (also gotta say im not the most skilled guy here by long). Must be because we can't copy the greatest song in the world. Huh, go figure. Dire Straits. Oh god, love the band. Their songs are just masterworks. That being said, the charts are masterwork as well. All of their songs are really hard for me as they have advanced chords and fast tempo. Gotta work on it but i've been playing Sultans of Swings pretty much daily so its bound to happen sooner or later. For the end, if you're interested in seeing me play the songs, i played them during my live stream, which can be found here: http://www.twitch.tv/thehusky55/b/567798843 , starting at 01:56:30 (or a bit earlier if you want to catch the beginner song as well, technical issues on stream, what can i say :) )
  14. Beginner: White Zombie - Black Sunshine (Chosen by @Tonedef ) http://i.imgur.com/fPqOLfG.jpg Intermediate: Blink 182 - After Midnight (Chosen by @SirBlambleOfGam ) http://i.imgur.com/N7abZtu.jpg Masterclass: Dream Theater - The Spirit Carries On (Chosen by @NoonyDeloony ) Fixed tones (Dream Theater) link http://i.imgur.com/f68H9bS.jpg Conclusion --------------- I had Black Sunshine in my library for a while which you'd think would help me get better at it. Well its not an easy song so i didn't do as good as on the intermediate side. Talking about intermediate song, it was quite fun to play! If its around 90% on my final score it means I did really good on it and found it interesting. (Black sunshine is a fun song but bit hard for my taste, which means nothing). I got to say that i have two Dream Theater songs in my library and somehow both are stuck on 70.something (i have Pull Me Under and this one). The song itself was fun but really hard to play. (solos in Dream Theater songs get me 2/2 times, cant write 10/10 cause i havent played ten of their songs) Fun stuff.
  15. This weeks songs weren't down my alley. Average scores ensued :) As always, posting Beginner and Intermediate songs for fun as well. I'm "competing" in MasterClass. Beginner: Rammstein - Te Quiero Puta! (Chosen by @Nacholede ) http://i.imgur.com/oLPqFCZ.jpg Intermediate: Megadeth - Angry Again (Chosen by @Motive ) http://i.imgur.com/LOZ15Z7.jpg Masterclass: Metallica - Jump in the Fire.(Chosen by @ScottLP) http://i.imgur.com/73xOHCs.jpg Used the same screenshot as from the last week when i posted it as extra song. I just felt like that was my best try. Conclusion ----------------------------- First off I'd like to say that this weeks songs were not down my alley (like i said). I don't listen to Rammstein / Megadeth and i have this weird thing that if i don't enjoy the song, i won't play it that good. Rammstein. I don't listen to the band at all. I don't know any of their songs besides Du Hast. The song was okay but not something id enjoy listening to. The chart itself had repetative elements such as the main riff (which i suggest slowing down to get the rhytm). It was also in a tuning you don't see every day (its either me or the game but i tend to miss notes on these kinda tunings). Megadeth. Another band i don't listen to and know none of their work. The song is actually quite hard, would consider it as upper class intermediate. Also, that solo was killer, followed it as far as i could but that wasn't far into the solo :P I know im complaining about everything, songs were nice to play its just that i don't like the genre. Thats it. Keep on rockin \m/
  16. @ Thanks for the welcome. I've been thinking what to enter with actually. Beginner songs can go bit easy for me sometimes, while intermediate songs are OK. I want to enter the Master Class as i enjoy playing harder (not impossible) songs. My score is going to be around 75-85 for it and I don't have enough practice compared to other people that have been playing for few years. TL;DR: Choosing between Intermediate or Masterclass as my entry level but its hard :D
  17. This is my first time entering any kind of Rocksmith based competition, I'm entering as a Lead Guitarist. Beginner: Royal Republic - Everybody Wants To Be An Astronaut (Chosen by @Motive ) http://i.imgur.com/AAsJWUG.jpg Intermediate: Fishbone - Aids & Armageddon (Chosen by @frippchen ) http://i.imgur.com/195zKPN.jpg Masterclass: Scorpions - Blackout (Chosen by @trev1515 ) http://i.imgur.com/DKLNN7z.jpg Extra: a song for 2 weeks challenge : Metallica - Jump in the Fire.(Chosen by @ScottLP) http://i.imgur.com/E9NRtxM.jpg Conclusion ----------------------- First song is really great for beginners. It has basic shapes of chords all tho if you're an absolute beginner you might have a bit of a hard time getting high % on all purple. All and all a great song. (Sloppy so i had lower percentage). Second song is a one level higher, obviously. It has some speed to it. There are more singular notes than chords. Really great tune actually, danced a long a bit ;) Third song. God damn it. I didn't expect this song to be hard. Other Scorpion stuff is bit easier but god damn that solo. Scorpions had great solos, I'll give them that. Metallica.... It pretty much says everything. Fast & hard. As i did all these songs one by one, my fret hand started knotting up. And the solo was really impossible to read, so fast that i had to assume what note it showed and play that. I gave it my best. Got to say that i ended up enjoying the riff of it, bit fast and offers your finger a nice practice :)
  18. How can I add myself to the list of Rocksmith 2014 streamers on this website? I've been streaming Rocksmith for quite some time and i noticed some streamers added themselves on Video Submission forum where i cant post anything.
  19. Is there anyway to control scroll speed in Editor on Fire? I've got notes all synced out, beat is right but its still too fast.
  20. Wanted to make a new entry about a new project, didnt want to make it look like im working on it for a year.
  21. Okay time to start this! Im starting off my "career" with a nice song called: Artist: Lordi Song: Hard Rock Hallelujah Album: The Arockalypse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGe8qID9gSs Progress so far? I have managed to get the lyrics working good with the timeline in Editor on Fire! The Lead guitar notes are all mapped out. All I'm missing is notes to the guitar solo. There are two of those and that's what ill work on. After that its just compile, test and release if its okay! EDIT 1: PROGRESS!! I have managed to compile the notes i have (lead guitar, lyrics minus 2 solos) and played a round of it in game. Synced up nicely (was a big problem messed around for a day with it). Onwards to getting solos in the track! EDIT 2: Finally got my s*** together and finished this CDLC!! You can get it here : http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/hard-rock-hallelujah-r2456 FINISHED
  22. Since this community has given me so many of AWESOME AWESOME CDLC I decided to at least try my best and give it something in return. This post will be used to announce my work in progress. Im hoping I'll do more than one song :) I'll mainly be focusing on Lead guitar & Vocals. To get myself started, i won't use any Dynamic Difficulty JUST YET! I gotta learn the ropes of making of CDLC first! On the same note, i won't be taking requests for now as I will focus on getting rest of the songs I adore into this game! (and hopefully there are some other people who will like them back). TL;DR: Bear with me, just a starter. First songs are gonna be basic, I hope u like them.
  23. Yea thats the stuff. Ill try your songs of Buddy Holly and Eddie. Also got Alex360's Johnny B Goode. Thank you!
