I donated because I could read a list of donations and expenses. I can't find this document anymore, if you want donations, we want transparency to agree. It would be fine to include a column "version" (0.1, 1.0,2.0) in the cdlc search and in the file names

Is the new system I setup good enough? The hard problem with the old system was keeping track of all the donations. I work a lot now and also put tons of time running this site. Additionally when I'm off I'm either working out or doing something important. I would of loved to keep that document updated but it's a pain in the ass to manually update it. I really hope the new system is transparent enough now.

On a personal note I have my 25th birthday coming up April 1st (April Foolsday), and I just got a new job last week so my life has been busy.

I have not however been forgetting about CF at all, we have active developers working on future versions of search.

 

I'm proud to announce we almost have 2,300 CDLC's. New features for our search:You can now "Follow" a post and receive updates when someone updates their CDLC.

I'm also happy to officially announce we've been working on Search3 (codename: "Ignition")

We're working on so many features for you guys, unfortunately it takes time. I don't pay our developers (and I wish I could) so it's all based on freetime. We'll get there though. :)

Well, we purchased a combo with IPB. We didn't want to waste the video system's use. I might change it after we launch twitch streaming but for now I'm going to keep it that way. I would hate to throwaway $60 in donations.Also before hand, video responses was still little. After we launch search 2.6 or 3 I'll look into this, we have a lot going on right now.

Let's face it. If someone uploads someone elses CDLC, can they support it? can they fix any problems the original CDLC had with it? most likely not.

If they want to make that CDLC, they can create it on their own, or get permission from the original CDLC creator.

 

If we allowed people to start uploading other peoples CDLC we would see massive amounts of dups with multiple versions.

 

This user uploaded tons of CDLC without permission with multiple warnings, and it was dealt with.

Don't use sendspace, it's in the rules.

 

I changed that rule, sendspace is allowed as long as a mirror is provided.

It appeared my follow up question might have gotten lost in chat.

I was wondering what method you were thinking of using to keep things from going sour like it did elsewhere.

 

So things like:

Could you elaborate on the planned approval process?

How many "votes" are needed to give a nod for approval?

Who gets to vote?

Will 'approvers' be named?

etc.

If the vote is a yes (looks to be that way) we will elaborate on everything before going ahead with it.

Approvers will be named, we still have to code and figure out how to do an approval system, and if we should wait for search3 or not.

Hello,We are now taking votes on releasing an CDLC approved area.

mini-faq:

What does this mean?

If the votes equal "YES", we would launch a new CDLC area for APPROVED CDLC's only. This means the CDLC will have everything finished, and tested by the community. This would include: Lead, Rhythm, Bass, Vocals, Custom Tones, Synced up, RR And optional DD. (NO issues)

(exception is if one of the Arrangement types isn't available for the song)​Additionally, you would need the appropriate album artwork, title, and everything else

Similar yes, but better executed. All of the "approved" CDLCs would have to be 100% finished, in the correct format, and at an appropriate host that won't delete the song in a week or month if not downloaded.

 

EDIT:

This is NOT going to a separate section! There will be three filters - approved, unapproved, and in progress. The default will be to show all customs, but you can filter if you would like to see only approved customs. It will be integrated within our current search.

This will be integrated in the next update as an option you can edit.

That includes racism, sexism, discrimination, use of homophobic/racist slurs, etc.

 

I noticed the user profiles have only an option for male/female gender but no options for transgender/androgynous/inter-sex and so on. This is very discriminationalist and maybe CF should give more options (Facebook has 50 options for gender).

 

It came standard with the forum's software but I will be happy to look into that feature for you!

Additionally: We are working on a cdlc update that counts downloads per click, which is why most users are using sendspace. We'll have this up and running sometime in the future. Thanks!

If you dislike a way someone has made a video, cdlc, or anything else please provide CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. 

We're trying to provide a creative and fun environment for CDLC creators and rocksmith players. 

You will be warned a few times before a permanent ban. Please do not let it come to that. This forum is a place to learn how to make customs, post customs, and download customs for Rocksmith.

 

Additionally I have updated the 'sendspace' rule:

 

[*]Please use an approved site to host your customs - That includes Mediafire, Dropbox, Skydrive, BOX.com, Google Drive, 4shared, and zippyshare. PLEASE DO NOT USE SENDSPACE - users have had too many issues with Sendspace and is infuriating when trying to download multiple customs. If you do use sendspace, please provide a mirror that provides unlimited downloads PER ip and no download caps.

This is my stance on sendspace (some users who use sendspace who have premium accounts are unaware of the problems for free users (aka downloaders)
