I played this just now and was shocked 🫣 How Rhythm can be a beginner and rated 3 when it's so much more difficult than Lead? Lead is single chords with large gaps between them allowing for hand positioning. Rhythm is the same chords in streaks with immediate transitions between them. Really not easy!

@ Rodman  For me:

Lead - 3.5/4 - because many of the chords are unusual.

Rhythm - 6 - difficult, quick transitions between unusual chords.

And I wonder why I'm the only one here who notices things like this. For example, @ cacahuate51 played this before and didn't notice anything strange. So maybe it's just me, I really don't understand 😆

Regarding Jimi's song – if intermediate players don't mind, we can keep playing. And since @ Vodka  enjoys suffering, let's suffer with him 😅

Tbf @ Mikson I I didn't look at the numbers this week I just played the songs. And I don't remember it much but when I get home I'll play it again.

As for the jimi song all I gotta say is I'm glad I'm not competing in the intermediate class😅

Kate bush bass
This Is defiantly harder than 1.5 I would raise it to 2.5 maybe even 3
Or maybe it was just me with terrible endurance

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

more bass

Dokken why I did not listen too more of this band back in the day

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Bee Gees classic and a nice bass line sing along In Falsetto

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

I would lower the rating on both songs by .5 maybe 1

or maybe I am improving.. Its all good

ok i gave it another go:

It is a slow song so i can understand it being a weird one to rate and its always hard to find begginer songs.
I do think in the past we have automatically put non standard campfire chords an automatic 4 like:

stay with me timberlake 4 (this only has 4 chords in the progression)
overdrive- post malone 4 (has the barred c chord)
show me how- men i trust 4 (although this one had arpeggios aswell)
can i call you tonight- Dayglow  5 (I can't believe its been atleast 3 years!! time flies..seems like ive been stuck in advanced for a looong time but i do generally enjoy and listen to the "easier" music..i also remember i had rated/suggested it as a begginer song 😅 but cause it has pinky chords got moved up to int)

Chrvches how not drown is the only one with a non standard chord i can think of rated a 3 (but i think cause its just a triad rather than barchord)

so with that in mind i think both paths could be 4 or above ( unless we start making begginner have more non standard chords which would be cool too)

The g chord seemed new to me, dont think ive ever had to strum that before (or atleast i rarely play it). And theres just alot more non standard chords in lead than the songs above.

I do think the Rhythm path is harder to get 100% like @ Mikson  said cause theres more strumming so theres less time to transition meaning more likely to lose more notes. So atleast switching the positions of the paths would be nice, since atm Lead is rated higher.

that being said, i think they are roughly the same class cause even though theres more strummed chords there are more empty spaces and not as many chords in the rhythm path compared to the lead. I dont think this song is harder than lotus eater foster the people which was rated 5.5

so imo something like:

Lead 4 or 4.5
Rhythm 4.5 or 5

but maybe thats just me

so imo something like:

Lead 4 or 4.5
Rhythm 4.5 or 5

but maybe thats just me

So we generally agree that Rhythm is more difficult than Lead. In my opinion, the difference in diff ratings is bigger because you don't take into account the transition time between chords, which is important for me when assessing difficulty. Especially when these aren't campfire chords but rather unusual chords like this one. I remember that many times in the past we included charts based on such chords in the advanced class, so I gave this a 6, but 5-5.5 is acceptable, probably not less, and 3 is really hard to understand for me 😆

I am getting this on a lot of peoples posts not sure why

Glad to see some discussion on the difficulty of How Deep is Your Love. My best on the lead was 60% (so I didn't feel that was worthy to post a screenshot), but I felt I had a few more chords to learn and could probably play it in another couple days of practice. However for rhythm path, once the turn around and da da da chorus hit, I was like oh I'm just not going to be able to play that. The quick chord changes are very unforgiving. Also the fingering for g#Maj7 seems trickier than the lead path at the 6th fret, not sure the reasoning behind that. Either way it was nice to see some non-standard chords in the beginner songs! Once you've mastered a few power chords, feels like you've mastered them all 😉

@ Mikson nice score, I won't summon peanut cincuenta y uno this week.  I will pull a @ drand and push the competition a little this week.  Your turn @ Rodman , bring it into the 90% range.

yeah bee gees rhythm is definitely harder than lead
that g#M7 is so weird to transition to for me

i loved the bass pattern on serenity painted death at the start but its sooo long i think thats my final score lmao

@ cacahuate51  @allplayers - so to have taken too long - here is what

PLAYER XP LEVEL

50112416wl.jpg

is all about... (taken from the description i did for it)

Over the last years we got the weekly leaderboard, the 10-week leaderboard and awards all fine - we do have a great competition with good ruling.

What i felt and feel is missing is something that easily shows

1) the progress for oneself

2) more objectively than the 10w-leaderboard show how good a player is - what´s that players level in bass? or lead?

We are all here to progress - and what i wanted is something to show the actual XP Level of any participating player in any path.

Independently from how many people are competing in his class and how strong that competition is (which vastly will effect his rank in his class)

So i wanted a system like in any RPG or alike where a players level can be seen by one number.

Luckywise our man @meelo caught the idea and (- as my coding is - lets put it that way - if i ever will make a videogame - the hero is likely to be missing limbs -) he jumped right in and arranged all the fancy data - gathering scripting stuff in like no time, helped testing and gave a lot of input too - THX M8 🍹 !!!!!

So...

Here is RSCS Player Level (XP)

It´s a score from 1-(potentially 100) where 50 means you can about master a song rated 5 with 100% or get about 85% on a 6er..

or... someone who reaches the level close to 30 will be able to compete in INT and might wanna level up

or... the absolte guitar god who would have scored 99 on 3 GOG (10) songs in 12 weeks (and has no lower MC scores) would be level 99

I have tested the system extensively with many players´ data - and it works damn fine by now.

How is it calculated?

It takes all scores from top rated songs of players class (3/5/7/8 and 9 for MC) and the class aboves scores (here any diff rating) multiplied by the accuracy achieved - and that is averaged over the last 12 weeks without max and min score - so potential wrongly rated songs or single poor performances for any reasons won´t distort the level.

At least 3 counting scores in the last 12 weeks are needed.

It is updated automatically every week. Thx @ kayteck !!!!!!!!

Plus you can see improvement calculated against the gone years down to week 46, where the CS we new know started with 4 classe and diff ratings for each path (v3.0) and we will have the data all back since first week on CFCS soon.

Each whole year has to be implemented by me (that´s quite lots of work), so there is more or less delay for those numbers.

It is beta stage by now´quite in final shape - so please everyone look into your data - check your opponents and be verbose about improvements!!!

Enjoy.

Rod.

I am at adding 2023 and 2024 numbers these days.

Great there is diff discussion - always makes the CS better and tells us where to be extra careful when testing songs!
Yeah - that how deep is your love tune was a troublechild at testing..... when testing lead first it was clear that this is more a rhythm than a lead pattern.... and clearly rather easier int than beginner with those non-standard chords.... then testing rhythm AFTERWARDS, already knowing that this was gonna be a non-standardchordfest it felt about the same (being biased obviously) AND there is less to play - so summing up having a whole week to learn to play those chords plus having input from another player i forced it into beg originally wanting to put it up as beg bonus only.... playing it again after your inputs - order is WRONG. Still i think we are on the edge Beg/Int on both - one week is time to potentially learn those few chords, and when you got those it´s pretty much done. I´d be going with like 3.5 and 4-4.5.

So - Rhy BEG and INT Change The BeeGees change lead and rhythm paths.

Keep those comments coming!!!!

I would probably give it 5.5, it's not really challenging and quite repetitive. But nice for a relaxed play nonetheless.
