First lead and rhythm scores for this week.

I have to agree with @ Mikson  on the Editors song , I would say its more of a beginers song as well.

 

Had the blues after this performance, gonna take some time....

After a lot of restarts finally first 100% result. But that's not a win yeat!

not sure how helpfull itll be without audio lol but something is better than nothing..maybe you can play audio from spotify/ another window yt ?

it was a very rough 87%, but what a great band from SNL / Movie band fame.  Jake (John Belushi) and Elwood (Dan Akroyd) Steve Cropper, Matt 'Guitar' Murphy, Donald 'Duck' Dunn, Lou Marini, Paul Schaefer etc., etc.

@ Vodka  yea i feel you XD I was struggling with that chord aswell...My Brain for the longest time thought that G# chord was the  chord above which is a barred c chord and i was like damn...this is hard/ doesnt sound too good. then i realized it wasnt the right chord shape lol..still a pain but i can do it constantly now and saw that you were able to aswell grats!!

yeaaa kinda messy but i remember what happened

I was honestly more focused on the bass this week and added it for int bass.
my thought process was:
I wanted to add 2 songs more just to avoid the pitched cdlcs for bass cause they dont sound that great on bass and that way itd be a decent bass week.

(heres where i goofed up)  hadnt tested posmalones bass path yet... and assumed it was gonna be begginer ....so that wouldve solved the bead tuning from the calvin song.

 the wen german/posish song could satisfy the lower tunning of diary of jane..

so in my head i just needed an int bass and after lots of testing i found editors which was challenging enough.. (although honestly just the intro and end is the challenge)

buuut then i tested postys song and altho slow it had lots of flourishes....and i was like damn.... well i guess sleazy bed track was a beginner song  and  it had lots of flourishes aswell... so i checked  what difficulty rating it was and it was beg 4... postys has a little more movement/ slightly difficult so i placed it in intermediate.... ( but if you guys think its fine in begginer im happy to place it there)

and yea i needed something for int lead so even though its a begginer song (i rated .5 higher than you but im always happier with lower ratings)  i thought intermediate could play a beginner song to not have an empty week.

 long story short it failed in both bass and lead path and i shouldve picked another song... buuut all good we learn from mistakes and atleast its a decent cdlc/ good song

for me this is a perfect intermediate song 5/5.5. No real solo, not that much movement, mostly octaves (pretty intermediate), harmonics is intermediate skill, and wouldve been a good song to level up to advanced cause its challenging enough..in advance i feel like its a bit underwhelming/ no need to practice as much

Regardless, I left it at advanced cause that was miksons rating and hes been in the competition longer/ i trust his ratings.

(Also here's hopeing we normalize lower tunnings cause theres lots of good stuff in the lower tunnings..)

🤣  very true, i dont have the attention spam to do long songs. 3mins and im out both playing and listening....I just generally prefer shorter songs in championship cause you can practice them more/ doesnt eat up as much time/ sometimes not a lot of free time to do so.

I think i dont mind them as much if in GoG since thats multiple weeks or in higher difficulties. But yea... Getting 100% on a long song is probably my worst nightmare when it comes to learning. Just feel like long songs either repeat too much or they dont repeat the good parts enough...so it wouldve been better shorter or divided into several songs cough cough lookin at you dream theater and your 30 min songs .

all of that being said, i enjoyed this song( if its hummable im happy), learnt some new chord shapes, and its always good to try different music out. 

 should probably stick to my song advice "wouldve been better shorter" for my post messages though.  

Not much time this week (and also not much sleep 🤣), so here are my results:

This last one sounds like Portuguese Pimba music (popular songs played in small town balls), but it's very fast 😞
