I'm about to give up. CDLCs will not show up in game.

Question

Hello Guys,

Sorry if this has been brought up and I'm too stupid to find it. I've watched videos and followed the tutorials exactly. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the game, verified my files (readding the dll after of course), I've restarted the computer. I've purchased cherub rock. And ran every folder configuration I could think of and I can still not get it to work.

As it sits right now, I have my folders in D drive: Steam>steamapps>common>steamlibrary>steamapps>common>rocksmith2014.

The d3dx9_42.dll is in my rocksmith2014 folder. This is the one I downloaded.

I own Cherub rock. It is in my dlc folder.

I downloaded 10 or so psarc cdlc songs, which are also in my dlc folder.

Please, help. 😞

First thing I see is that your dll file is named D3DX9_42 (2).dll. It should be D3DX9_42.dll, without the (2) in the file name, so this will not work. I'm also guessing that dll from 2016 is outdated and needs to be updated. Not to worry, Here's a very easy fix:

Download "RS2014-Mod-Installer.exe" file : Click Here to Download

Run the "RS2014-Mod-Installer.exe" you downloaded, you will be presented with a box : (See attachment)

Click the big button that says "Click to use mods"

Once you click the button, it will copy the correct, latest dll file (its part of the program, no other download needed) to the correct folder, and you should be good to go.

You can close the tool and delete if you like. This tool was made by some staff here, so it's safe. It can do tons of other stuff, but I've found that this is the easiest way to get the latest dll file into the correct  folder.

Good Luck

I actually found out the issue, I previously had a downloaded Rocksmith on my PC and the Mod Installer was installing in that folder. After I deleted that old Rocksmith folder I then re-ran the exe for the Mod Installer and it asked me for the location which I then moved to the Steam folder for Rocksmith and Viola!
