  1. Here are my scores:

    Advaned Lead: 93 %

Last week, Blind Guardian really got me working on that solo... but this one I didn't even start learning... no chance at all^^

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=495491610

    Advanced Rhythm: 98.17 %

Really not that difficult, mostly a matter of endurance :-)

    Masterclass Bass: 96.48 %

Somehow I thought Iron Maiden was Advanced in all paths...

  2. My results for this awesome week:

    Advanced Lead: 96.25 %

This was the only try without a strike... this solo is still far beyond in time (or something like that)

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=492099866

    Intermediate Rhythm: 99.92 %

I tried to compensate my lack of solo skill with trying to 100% the Rhythm part, but after many fails and two runs with only one miss... the time has come to give up, for now.

    Advanced Bass: 99.85 %

    And some Bass :-)

  3. I noticed a drop in performance after a couple of minutes of playtime. Took a while to find out my CPU turned very hot, but then I found some software that increases the speed of the fan and now my issues are gone.

I wanted to do a clean install with Windows 10, but at this point I don't even know if that is possible (seems like you can only upgrade it)

About the moving hands from 3rd fret to 7th. Nice find in the video. You have to keep in mind though that a lot of bands (including Blind Guardian) rearrange their songs for live shows. It is possible that it was played differently in the studio version. Nevertheless I would really like to see that hand position shift gone, too! It seems kind of impossible for me at the moment :-)

  5. Blind Guardian, yeah! Until I listend to one of their live albums I didn't even know they are a german band.

Also until now I tried a couple of theirs songs and always gave up soon... so I'm curious what this week brings (hope it never ends) :-D

Hmm. just discovered this one uses the 23rd fret on the high e string... but I guess you could bend that up to that one note.

When I see stuff like that, I always wonder if it is a "mistake" in the chart, or if guitars with more than 22 frets are really that widely spread... Anyway, I think there should be an "intrument requiremend" entry for this sort of thing...

And... my "warmup" on Rhythm: 99.1 %,

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=488066975

Is it just me, or are there a "lot" of hammer-ons and pull-offs missing in both parts?

  6. I agree, the original charter has to be informed of course, e.g. via e-mail.

About the rest, I see two possibilities:

    1) The rule could be published, and then the mods will see how much it is used. People would have to contact mods in order to get the access. If two persons ask about the same time, mod has to make the choise, e.g. based on how many customs were published by the charter, etc.

    2) Depending how flexible the new ignition2 is, the record page could have a button "report broken link". After a threshold of e.g. 5 users clicking that link, a new link could appear: "This custom has been reported to have a broken download link. If you still have the file and agree to follow these rules [link], you can apply to adopt this CLDC by clicking here". This way the whole process could be automated (more programming work, but less moderation work).

Using method 1), one could find out if there is enough demand for option 2)

Even if the author is active member, if the cdlc hasnt been updated in lets say 28 days, the button appears.

Maybe I'm not understanding that correctly, but if there are no problems with the cdlc, the button should not appear, in my opinion. :) Edit: ninja'd

  7. I agree with you!

But I think there should be an official mechanism to 'transfer' CLDCs from user to user.

What I mean is the following: After a certain period of time (couple of weeks) of a charter not having come back online, other charters can request mods to have the ownership of a CDLC search database entry transfered to them.

This means they take responsibility for the custom, keep the download link up to date and even fix errors if necessary.

Basically an extension of the existing adoption rules for RS1 DLC.

The advantage would be that no additional search entries have to be created. Personally, I don't like to see various versions of the same song.

Also, whenever the orginal charter comes back online, he can choose to regain responsibility for the custom that was maintained by another user.

I don't know if this rule could be applied to people specifically taking their content down from the site. But I guess the much larger number is the "silent death", where people simply loose interest in CDLCs and do not care anymore.

  9. And... here are my weekly scores for Advanced:

    Lead: 91.13 %

    I'm glad I made it without a strike :)

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=479467174

    Rhythm: 97.76 %

Those damn short phrases in the beginning always give me strikes...   otherwise the score is fine

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=479467271

    Bass: 99.48 %

One more note and I'd be Masterclass - perfect score I guess :D

    Looking forward to next week!

@ Reset stats? You something doing wrong, bcs of all stats saved in adjusted version. If you load my, and you will see same scores and counts.

don't know what's wrong. I know if I don't change notes in eof all stats are safe. But this time I tried first to load the xml file from eof project in toolkit, adjust and push create. Later I tried it to load my psarc file in tookit, adjusted and created new. In both cases the stats were reset  and your's work fine with all old scores. It's a mystery to me.

A while ago, there has been an update to the Toolkit that creates a new Arrangement ID (at least) ever time you change the version number. So if you use the Toolkit the way it is meant to be used, the stats will always reset when you create a new version. This was chosen to avoid conflicts (and thus possible savegame corruptions) between the song data in your Rocksmith profile and updated things in the song. E.g. if you changed the sections, there might be a conflict between the stored DD progress and the new DD information in the song.

At first I didn't agree with this, but in the end I saw that "savety" must always come first :-)

  11. In the search, type "multitrack" to see basically all the customs with muted instruments ;-)

Also: You have to backup the custom DLC yourself. Only the stuff you bought through Steam is backed up by Steam.

And while you're at it: Be sure to manually backup your Rocksmith profile. I didn't have a single problem in over a year of using customs, but from time to time users report corrupted profiles, caused by some CDLC.

  12. Here is the rest of my results:

    Intermediate Bass: 100%

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=465054485

If I had to leave Intermediate Bass, I figured I had to do it with style^^

    Advanced Rhythm: 83 %

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=465090045

The chord slides always killed my score attack attempts

For the record: In my opinion Blues Brothers Rhythm is a lot more difficult than Devin Townsend Rhythm. A look at the scores people achieve in both songs seems to support that.

Deadhead Rhythm maybe is a 6, but not the current 7, in my opinion.

  13. @@Billkwando If I understand correctly, this shouldn't be any problem at all.

See the FAQ in my first post, which is very similar:

Is it possible to change the offbeat if you've reset it to zero?

    Yes, and it's very easy!

In EOF, under "Beat" click on "Push Offset Up". Repeat as often as necessary, until it looks like my picture above.
Make sure to set the correct "Time Signature" under "Beat", too. Otherwise the yellow numbers couting the bars will not show up, because Rocksmith will not know which the first beat of every bar is.
Your notes will not move, so don't be afraid that you might break your chart.

Your problem is the other way around:

In a 4/4 time signature, you have to click "Push Offset Back" four times to insert a full "blank" measure prior to the first one. Please let me know if you still have any issues ;)

  14. Edit: Why is that a arpeggio? Its throwing me off on whats a chord :

I felt the need to display the full hand position, including the red string, in the handshape. I have chosen "Handshape" because "Arpeggio" makes it look even weirder, in my opinion.

EditEdit:That rhythm guy is sooo not playing those chords on the charts

The video is a good reference for most of the chart, but it does not contain the part on the higher strings I have placed in Rhythm (in bars 166 and onward). The video is, after all, not the same as the studio version.

@ Interesting idea with the finger placement!

If you feel like it, leave a comment in the song entry with your advice. But at this point I think I won't change it, because it is authentic and possible to play (though not comfortable, I agree^^).
