Thanks for hooking this up, sorry i've been delayed, its not that i haven't played rocksmith (i play it every day) i just went on a rampage through CDLC that its kept me super busy, playing other Amon Amarth songs have been keeping me busy too i just have been lazy as shit. I dont care for the credit just glad its out there!

i just tried giving it a go and it won't load :( the other amon amarth tracks on here do, but this just sits at the menu area like its trying to load the song.... ive had this problem with a metallica song before, but i never got it working....

I was going to be taking on Gods of War Arise next, just a heads up... i play through my amp though so i don't pay too much attention to the tones on Rocksmith though, and i'm sure i'll get better with these syncs (i really need to make sure my audio/video lag is 1:1 before authoring these)...  I'll probably start that Thursday

(btw i'm still not able to test the bass version of this, but its done for lead and rythm - not sure how to package it to go on the list of CDLC i play it all the time)

no i just kept backing up my profiles then one time it just magically started working fine... i have no idea what happened, i've transferred this to other machines too and it hasn't messed up... could've been some fluke mistake for all i know..

ok so got hte palm mutes in and fixed some stuff thanks!

 

i got the bass and rythm in too, i've tested and the lead and rythm work fine!

 

however, i don't have a bass - also, i wasn't sure how to set the tuning for a bass to BEAD in the guitar toolkit? does anyone know how to do this? Also, i don't know what tone to do, i looked into Generalsnus' tunes but didn't see one for bass.

 

I'll try to tweak my tune a bit more tomorrow and add lyrics... i don't know how to add lyrics though, will need to look into it.

Yeah loos like the profile going shit is another issue... even with vanilla installs.

i'd love it if someone could test to make sure this CDLC isn't causing it for them though. Repro steps are easy.

• Backup your profile data first - mine is in "C:Program Files (x86)Steamuserdata7745533221680remote" you'd see something similar, just backup the latest file ending in '_prfldb'.
• Download and install CDLC
• play CDLC once
• exit game
• load game back up and try to go through the menus

If someone could test that for me I'd really appreciate it...

 

going to try to fix some other issues and get this tone less shitty tonight, then do the rhythm and bass sections.  Thanks for the tips!

This is my first CDLC and my first addition to this ever growing community. I fucking love Amon Amarth and this is a song i've been playing around with for a while. So i thought it would be a great addition to move it from tab to game. However, it seems i suck way more when trying to read it in the game :P
 
Anyways, this being my first CDLC i certainly made mistakes i would like to clean up!
 
Known Issues/Questions:

• My phrasing attempt didn't seem to work and the entire song came out as one. I saw there was a thread about labeling phrases... i'll take a look at that tomorrow.
• I made a custom tone but am getting a lot of crackle when the guitar is idle. I generally play with my physical amp, so i'm not sure whats going on here. It could just be because the distortion is a preamp. If anyone has some advice here I'd appreciate it.  Please note: I set the tone with my Schecter Blackjack Baritone with Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups. 
• There are parts of the song that need to have palm mutes for the notes. The author of the tab in guitar pro didn't label them as such. Does anyone know if i can add palm mutes to notes in Editor on Fire?
• There is one part where i seemed to have skipped a note i'll come back to....
• Amon Amarth seem to have been all over the place at times with their BPM shifting from 125, 128 and 130 at different and random times. i tried to make up for it and mask it as much as possible.
• I'm not trying to act like i'm awesome at playing guitar or anything, but i do notice rocksmith has a really hard time registering low notes at times. When i'm playing this song, sometimes it'll be saying i'm missing a note when i know for a fact my finger is in a good position on the fretboard and being plucked on time. Does anyone else experience this from time to time? The biggest culprit is anything on the first fret - especially in Drop D, C Standard and B Standard.  
• Any time i play this song my Rocksmith profile goes corrupt... i have my profile backed up luckily but its annoying... any ideas here? Could it be because of the Custom Tone that I authored and packed up with the song?

Anyways excited to wrap this up this weekend, any C&C or general feedback/bug reports welcome!

nvm i had transfered the files between computers and in the process windows seemed to have given it a .dat extension, removing the extension made it work

I found out that it's the power in my building.

 

the same intense noise started again last night when i had my schecter hellraiser and the rocksmith cable plugged into the ABY box.  then i unplugged the power from my laptop and the noise completely stopped.  

 

You need an ABY switch with a ground lift.  I use one of these and it totally removed the ground hum:

verified its the same if 2 amps and not the laptop is plugged in...

 

some other issue entirely :/ have no idea how to fix it.  Going to have to do some intense research.

 

I generally try to play on clean too, but sometimes i like to lie to myself ;)

@@kedhrin - So input is the guitar,  "Send A" to the Amp, "Send B" to the Realtone cable. Set the dial to the second from the bottom selection which is A+B Mix Bypass. Then activate the pedal and both the green and red lights will be on. I leave the two other volume knobs at mid-point... Works like a champ and no feedback what so ever for me.

 

And to early post, you were correct it's an LS-2 I have.

 

Really weird it worked for you! i set it up exactly the same and had nothing but problems. what Amp were you using? I tried it on my Peavy 6505 combo and my Schecter Hellraiser Combo with the same result on both.... 

 

anyways, i returned that LS-2 and went and got that ABY box - works perfect.  This one i got was only $50 at Guitar Center.  Theres still a bit of noise, but as soon as you have backing music playing through rock smith you can't hear it anymore. I haven't tried just a .25" Y Splitter... only because everyone screamed bloody murder about the potential nose :P

 

@@kring i'm still curious as to how you were setting up your boss pedal... i had no luck and had to end up hooking up a headphone amp with the real-tone cable.  quite literally, really ghetto:

The other thing I do sometimes is just use the amp and don't bother with realtone cable - set the song to riff repeat and who cares if you score a 0, the notes come if you set it so dynamic difficulty doesn't auto-change.

Ive thought about disconnecting the real tone all together and just playing with my amp but you can't get past the tuning part of the song :)

 

theres something refreshing about seeing that you hit a note tho :P even tho Rocksmith fucking sucks ass at any chords when theres a lot of them stacked... you can pretty much just hit random strings wildly and it'll accept it.

 

A big issue i'm having with some of these songs is the tone is just absolute garbage to the point where i cant even play the song... especially one of the nirvana songs and quite a bit of CDLC choices for tones. Wonder if my pickups are just too beefy ;P

 

 

 

I bought an Boss LS-2 trying to send outputs to the game and the amp but was having an intense amount of noise coming through both the game and the amp. So much that it was absolutely unplayable.

 

i contacted boss to help me see if it was something wrong with mysetup or something else was going on...

It sound like what you really need is a good ABY pedal. These allow you to split the signal from one guitar to two outs, either by switching from one to the other, or in Y mode, both at the same time. Unfortunately, the LS-2 does not have this kind of function; it cannot provide outputs to two amps from one input.

This is really cool. Sometimes, there is a part of a song i have to pause the fucking game to really read and let myself get a feel of a series of notes... not even slowing it to 1 speed lets me do that. really annoys me. this is definitely going in my must haves.

i have 2 hellraisers, one with a floyd rose, one without. a baritone blackjack. the 2014 blackjack SLS prototype 7 and i have the loomis 7 with floyd rose.

 

i have the 2x12 hellraiser combo, it is amazing. I'm wanting to get the hellwin head and cab real bad right now but i think i'm just sploodging at that point.

 

I really want a hellraiser hybrid, the reason why is because it's got the beef of the hellraiser line but the accessibility of the SLS series. I love the thin neck.   An 8 string hellraiser (fuck floyd rose) is definitely on my horizon.

 

Seriously, do yourself a favor - don't get a floyd rose. it adds a ton of extra weight - so you might have to tune every now and then... its not that big of a deal with their locking pegs. i wish i didn't have 2 floyd rose guitars.... but i love all of them and play them for different reasons.

although i have the 7 string version, this guitar makes me feel not worthy every time i pick it up... its an absolute beauty and a change - the rest of my guitars are active pickups.  I'm honestly liking the passive more.

i'd love to get my hands on thousand years of oppression and gods of war arise! I started gods of war arise and was heavy in making the file for it but the tab i had seemed to have some problems so i gave up :/

@Kedhrin   impressive collection of Schecter's.   That game you are working on looks bad-ass man. I'll be looking for the release of Revival.

 

I played Rift 2 years and bailed because of the lust for the purple, yellow and gasp, orange items. Not really, but the 8 hours a day of playing to become and remain a top player was too costly on my life.

 

I hope you and Illfonic have great success with it.
