  1. I've never been satisfied by the way bend tech notes get imported into EoF, so I always erase them and place new ones manually. I honestly think that it's absolutely necessary to put in that extra work even if it can be tiresome with songs that feature lots of them. Guitar solos in general are always a lot of work because you need to fine tune exact note placements, slides, bends, ho/po's, etc. Making yourself familiar with tech notes is important if you want to give your custom the necessary touch to get it from good to great. :)

Same shit here, i also always go at the end of the authoring process over the solo and fix tab errors and place tech notes how i want, i never use what is imported its full of errors like the notes and chords in the song. High quality standards :D can be a bitch sometimes but when the custom is done and its like you want its a great pay.

If they would use EOF to transcribe music they would make way more accurate tabs, EOF does give you a lot of great tools for that.

  2. Yep with r1375 the curser is now back in the input field. Thanks.

A little request, would it be possible to sort the Rocksmith section list a little bit better like having preverse, verse, postverse, modverse grouped together instead of being spread, same for chorus

  3. Yeah, I vote to revert to the old system of data entry to boxes.  It has it's problems, but it's much, much faster when working with complex charts.

It really is a deal breaker for me to upgrade to newer EoFs.  It's so nippy having to click on the box every time I'm making/editing slides and bends.

Yeah its extremely time consuming at the moment to do solos with lot of bends and slides. I didnt followed what led to the remove of the curser in the input box (maybe a bug?) but it would be nice to have it back.

  4. Im on the latest revision. In the Add Arrangement window the Scroll Speed bar can be dragged below 1.0 till 0.5. Is this intended or a bug? It has always been only till 1.0 and even in the configuration tab you can at the moment only set a default scroll speed of 1.0 and not less.

About the Wwise convert feature in the Toolkit. I updated only recently to the newest revision of the toolkit with that feature, what i noticed is that if you enter an already converted .wem file that the toolkit will still converted it again based on the audio quality setting in the gui. A check should probably be added that does jump the convert feature of the toolkit if the .wem file is already entered using the file chooser.

  5. I guess that we should tap near the pickup which kinda make the same noise in some condition but that's really weird the first time you encounter this...

As you said its just a hard tapping/hitting with the middle finger on the E string(red) between the pickups. The string will hit the poles of the pickup and generate the strange sound.

  6. does it stutter only with certain cdlc or even official songs? If it does stutter with official songs its your system in that case i would reduce all special graphic effects of the game and see it runs now better, after that you can start to raise the graphic effects till it still runs smooth.

If the stutter only happens with cdlc its the cdlc that is causing it

  7. I got it fixed.  I played around with the Track-Rocksmith-Arrangement type options.  By changing this, the default settings under Track-ProGuitar-Set Tuning are changed.   The available default setting under Track-ProGuitar-set Tuning are dependent on the individual track.  Real_Guitar had Standard (EADGBE) available but Real_bass_22 did not.  I could only get EADGBE with Real_Bass_22 set to a rhythm arrangement.  Thanks for your help.  I would have given up with your insights.

Next time before you import a guitar track into the real_bass_22 track just set before importing the arrangement type to Lead or Rhythm. This will make sure that the tuning will get imported as a guitar tuning and not as a bass tuning.

  8. for whatever reason sometimes you need to just save again the project with EOF so it generates new xml files. It has happened to me a few times that even after repacking a few times the arrangement would still not work. I had to load it up with EOF and just save the project again, no need to change something in it.

we should maybe give @@raynebc the not working xml and the working one so he can run a compare on both.

  9. Before looking at it, those sound like grace notes. The way those are authored in the GP format, it would be messy to try to get EOF to import them so I would prefer not to tackle that at this time. If that's not what they are, let me know.

2 out of the 3 problems seems to be indeed related to grace notes but the problem at measure 17 that i described does not look like a grace note but i could be wrong.

  10. I tried for the first time the score attack mode in the game and i have noticed that in score attack mode the bass arr gets recognized always as to be plucked instead of to be picked even if picked is selected in the toolkit.

In normal mode it gets recognized correctly but not in attack mode. Maybe an attribute is missing in the xml for the arcade stuff.

i can open an issue if its really a bug or something missing.

  11. found a few issues with a tab, a few things are not imported correctly and are missing

    Here is the tab http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/m/metallica/the_unforgiven_ver10_guitar_pro.htm?utm_expid=18438345-117.Xl9Y1cGLRGGq9QYsTE9P2A.0

The mejor problem seems to be with the notes as small numbers as hopos. The hopos as normal size numbers seems to be imported correctly.

In measure 7 till 10 in Track Kirk - Acoustic the hopos dont get imported.

measure 17 in Track Kirk - Distortion the hammer on on the 10 does not get imported correctly, it gets imported as a 09 chord. It repeats a few times.

in measure 92,93,94 in Track James - Distortion the hopos dont get imported. In Track Kirk - Distortion its the same for measure 93,94

  12. 1) i dont know, do you have all patches installed from steam?

    2) does this also happen with official DLC, if not it could be just a issue related to the custom itself.

    3) Is a known issue that happens to customs, the custom usually needs to be repacked again and it will usually work after that. If the original creator does not want to do it i think you can use the import feature of the toolkit to load the custom and than pack it again.

    4) The game never crashed on my system, because you have a lot of customs it could be that some of those could be the the source of the instability of the game. My suggestion is to remove the customs from the RS2014 folder and see if the game is without customs still unstable. If the game does run stable just add slowly customs back maybe your favorites first and then try to track down the ones causing issues.

    5) same as 4)

If you want to use a tone created from you just use the import feature of the toolkit, it will import all information of the custom and allows you to change things like the tone. After that pack to custom back and it will use from now on your tone.

  13. @@davibeast

If i remember correctly when you usually install RS 2014 it will also install Directx and MS Visual C++ redistributable. The game is maybe not starting because those things are not installed on the new Windows 8. Just reinstall the game from steam, it should detect if things are missing on your operating system and it will install them. If that does not work try to install the demo of RS 1 because it will probably also install software needed to launch the game.

  14. In RS1, I think a lack of sections/phrases caused the game to stutter, presumably because of the way the game processes them. It may be worth seeing if that's the case here (ie. if riff repeater allows you to change difficulties or to change the range of the part being practiced), and if not, see if the problem is fixed by running it through DDC.

When i was experimenting a few days ago again with sections/phrases placing i also noticed that the game would sometimes start to stutter to the point that it was impossible to play. I guess that its still like in RS1 that if something with sections/phrases placement is wrong the game will start to lag and stutter.

  15. Any other folks want to weigh in on whether to keep the prompt?

The question is, is it correct to ignore it. I usually ignore the prompt and select NO but that does not mean that its correct

      <offset>-10</offset>
      <centOffset>0</centOffset>
      <startBeat>10</startBeat>

This is how its in most cases in official DLC. Can you explain me what those numbers mean please?  What does the offset value of -10 in that case mean? startbeat of 10 means that the measure 1 starts at 10 seconds.

What i dont understand is that EOF does throw the prompt and asks if you want to reset the offset to 0 but if i select NO in the xml the offset is still set to 0, should it not have the negative number of the time of measure 1.

Here is an example of my latest save xml from EOF. I selected NO to the prompt but the xml does still have it set to 0. I added 6 seconds of silence and have the first 4/4 empty thats why measure 1 is at 4.916.

      <offset>0.000</offset>
      <centOffset>0</centOffset>
      <startBeat>4.916</startBeat>

    Edit:

  16. While we're talking about truncating short notes, I still wish EoF wouldn't remove sustain from chords, even with truncate short notes enabled.

Is there any way I can manually prevent EoF from doing this, by editing the source code for example?

In what situations do you need the missing sustain?
