  1. you will need to find a friend with an xbox 360, log in with your gamer tag, unlock one acheivement in the game, make sure your connected to xbox live. then you should be able to go back to the xbox one and within rocksmith 2014 (xbox one version) store to purchase the import pack. that is the only way to import the original rocksmith songs into rocksmith 2014 (xbox one version). Uggg, ok, I was worried it was something along those lines :-( thanks for the help
  2. OK, I bought a copy of the original rocksmith, for the 360. I put it in the xbox one this morning, in the hopes of loading the game, then having it recognize that I had the older version, and be able to import the base songs from the older version to be able to play in the newer version. However, I hit a snag. The old version of rocksmith won't load / play on the xbox one. It says this game is not compatible with the xbox one. I remember reading though that is said if you had the previous version of the game, you could pay to import the old songs into the new version. Anyone have any idea how to do this for the xbox one, if you don't have an xbox 360, but have an old version of the game?
  3. thanks for the help, I will order a copy of the old RS and give it a shot
  4. Hi All, I have used a laptop forever for rocksmith. Have a ton of bought DLC on my laptop. Recently got a xbox one for my sons, and got them a copy of rocksmith. I understand that I can't transfer my bought DLC from PC to Xbox One. Frustrating. But I see that you can transfer the songs from the original Rocksmith to Rocksmith 14, as long as it is in the same family of console. So If you have DLC on xbox 360, you can import them into RS14. I also see that I can get an old copy of RS for the xbox 360 for relatively cheap. Can I just buy a copy of the old RS, for the xbox 360, and then have access to those songs on RS14 on the xbox one?
  5. I figured it was something along those lines. Is it something in the works? or should I give up hope on it
  6. I hate to ask this question, but I used the search function and looked around for a while and couldn't find an answer. Preface to the question - I'm old(er)(relatively)(it hurts to say it). I play rocksmith on my laptop. Just got a xbox 1 for my sons. My older son (9 years old) has expressed interest in learning to play guitar. When we ordered the xbox 1, I immediately ordered rocksmith 14, so he can play. (and for me a little too). I should have done my research first - is there really no way to add CDLC to the xbox one? I had just assumed you could add it like with the PC. I see the indication on the CDLC section for xbox - is that only for the 360? I must be missing something.....right?
  7. I am assuming the answer is no, but does anyone know if there is a way to fast foward through parts of songs, in game? I play bass, and in some songs (pink floyd comes to mind) where there are lengthy down time between playing parts. After playing a song x amount of times, wiaitng 3 minutes to get to the next playing part gets a little tiresome. Thanks
  8. Nonstop play is random shuffle. You can populate it with whatever songs you select, but it shuffles the order in which they appear, and if you have selected more songs that the time selected for the shuffle, it randomly selects the songs to play. Thanks for the link for the full album, awesome
  9. yes, you can use the cdlc found here in RS 14
  10. I mainly end up playing on my laptop, with earphones in. Can anyone recommend good earphones for playing rocksmith bass? Less noise leak is better (so my wife can't hear). Thanks in advance
  11. One the back of the Play 5, there is a line-in slot. Via a male to male 3.5 audio plug wire, I hook it up from the headphones out on my laptop. Then I can group the play 5 to my livingroom set up of soundbar and two play 1s in surround. It sounds pretty good, but there is a slight millisecond lag. But I didn't turn the bass all the way down on the Sonos feed, which may eliminate that. I will try it tomorrow morning and let you know.
  12. I ended up getting an A/B splitter box at guitar center. I forget the brand and official name. It has one imput, two outputs, and switches on top to turn on and off both outputs. It cost about $50, i've only tried it once so far but it worked great. I have a Sonos system run throughout our house, and tried to run my laptop through that to play the rest of the guitarsmith sound, but there was a half a millisecond delay, and was about to give me a siezure :o I love the setup though, it is a great idea
  13. Not sure this is the right place to post this - but here is my question. Is there any way to set up one (or more) custom playlists for rocksmith? I know about the random shuffle of continuous play. But, for instance, is there a way to set up a playlist for all of the dark side of the moon songs, in order, without having to select every song through "learn a song"? I'm in the PC version. Thanks for any help.
  14. Thanks everyone for the help. I ended up getting the Ibanez GSR200. I just felt the best in the shop. Was playing some last night, felt great. I also picked up a good amp, so this weekend I'm going to combine with the rocksmith per madzillage above, great idea. Should I change out the strings on the new bass? it feels fine to me, but I guess I assume the stock strings and just that, stock?
  15. I have a cheap Kona that I got off of amazon. It actually holds its tone well, and is comfortable. but very basic
