  1. Hi,

Does anyone have a fixed copy of "Mr. Big" by Free? In the beginning, there are some notes that are not correct. If noone has it, maybe I'll try to fix it and resubmit.

    Thanks,

  2. Hi,

I a CDLC has been removed, is it bad form to request it again? I have one locally, and I'm looking for an update and it's not there anymore. I remember someone in the comments saying they had corrected it. I know it hasn't been provided (yet!) by Ubi.

So when a CDLC disappears from the library, are we allowed to make a request for someone to bring it back?

  3. One more thing you may not be aware of is that CFSM can convert all these non-E Standard tuning CDLC to E-Standard.

Just use the 'Custom Mods' 'Pitch Shifter' in Song Manager.   You'll like it,  I guarantee ...  Buy me some beers on my webpage if you do.

Really? So it changes the pitch of the song and everything? Damn! That would be great for all my Stevie Ray songs!

  4. Here is what I mean. I refingered the chart, and on my first pass I had 98.86. Yes, I know that I played it a number of times last week and I should be better, but I also know that the places where I changed the fingering are easier to play because what I see on the screen is what I have to play on the bass.

This is what I'm working with. Note that this is just a quick export of the GP5. Playing it, I realize that the note durations affect the final score (but normally, not the number of correct notes). You can take a look at this and see what I find easier to play.

Note to the mods: I don't expect this to be my official score for the challenge since the tab is not close enough to the original.

  5. Yes. The jump from A3, D3, G5 to G10 when you can do E8, A8, D10 to G10. There are a few other (to me) nonsensical fingerings that I would adjust if I were allowed to do so (open strings when a 5th fret would be easier, for example). It doesn't change anything to the note that is played, but make the chart easier to play. To be honest, I could have just recharted it and not said anything, but that's not my style. :)

  6. @@lduperval You mean transposing notes to a different string? Rocksmith requires you to hit correct sound so you can hit D10 or G5 at your will and RS should be ok with either one.

Yes that's what I mean. But seeing G10 and playing D5 is hard. Am I allowed to change the notes in Guitar Pro, repackage the fire and play that instead of the version that's on CF?

  7. And it also depends on wheter you are charting the track yourself or whether you are using an existing tab, the latter help a lot, but is not always correct. When starting from scratch, most of the time is spent transcribing the notes, whereas if you have an existing tab, you are mainly working on synchonizing the notes with the music, and maybe a few corrections. I've done both and with an existing tab, I can get a working version in a couple of hours (enough to make it usable by me, but maybe not enough to publish it). Starting from scratch, though, I've had songs where I have put way more than 10 hours and I'm not done yet...
