Thanks, I was using v.2.6.0.1 which I think is a beta. Got 2.6.0.0 but didnt convert the guitar.ogg to .wen. My stupidity, I probably should have tried to look in the eof setting first. Will try later. Thanks Jhespada.
Just as confirmation and I think I have the right version, wwise 2013.2.7 standalone?
Your version of wwise may be too old but you can try and generating the file straight from toolkit and seeing if it works.
If it doesnt, you can dl the versions I have:
toolkit - v2.6.1.0-a00900c3
wwise - 2014.1.1 32bit (make sure to get 32 bit as people have had issues w/ 64bit)

The first show is the one I was talking about:

The new Ver. of the toolkit does away with having to process the audio through wwise separately, but you still have to have the correct ver. of wwise installed on the PC.
I have this setup and it is really efficient to not have to go through WWise. Highly recommend people to update to the latest versions of toolkit and correct wwise version.

@avdocatwork
Google is a beautiful thing lol. Many people (myself included) felt that the best Stones lineup was the one with Mick Taylor in it. If I can find a good tab for the live '72 version of Gimme Shelter, I would love to create that cdlc. Taylor's solo is blistering!!
I will add a youtube link shortly but no need to bother your friend yet becasue the chances of finding a good tab for this version are slim. Strictly adding the link to help spread the joy of hearing this wonderful version...

Yeah someone was nice enough to give me an audio file from an Oasis concert DVD. I believe they had a CD recorder and used the analog output from the DVD player to the CD recorder input.
They also mentioned that I could throw the DVD in my computer and use Audacity to record the audio and get higher quality that way as well.
I would like to do a few more live Oasis songs but after that I really would like to find some live Stones tabs around '72. Would love to get some of those live Mick Taylor solos into CDLCs.

@@avdocatwork Glad to be aboard.
For all the audiophiles:
My most recent cdlc projects have been live songs and I have really enjoyed doing them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the best audio possible from a concert? I ripped one mp3 from youtube and the audio was ok but im thinking I could do something better via Audacity.
Any help would be great.

I happened to stumble upon this Note/Guide chart that explains pretty much all possible notes and chord types in the game. Thought it might be useful to share with everyone:
http://static2.cdn.ubi.com/ncsa/rocksmith/website/guides/Notehead-tail%20guide.pdf
I can see this especially helpful to people new to the game who are trying to quickly identify the degree of bends they need to perform.

@@jhespada Non stop mode is meant to be random and there's no way to change that. well maybe by modding the game but nobody did it so far.
Ok - good to know.
-
@@raynebc That is definitely the case. I have a newer version of toolkit and wwise installed. It is much more efficient having toolkit do everything through its command console.

EOF will have created the WAV file version of the song automatically if you enabled its preference to export Rocksmith files.
Off topic but why is WWise necessary? I always skip wwise and go straight from EOF to the toolkit when creating cdlc's. Seems like the toolkit calls wwise during the Generate process but Im not sure..

I always use an official Oasis dlc when importing cdlc's so I don't think you have to use Cherub Rock even if the author used that song when creating the cdlc.
But, before you buy another dlc I would confirm with an expert.

You could download a ton of CDLC individually and try to add them all, but I also feel like non-stop play is a great candidate for this.
Remember, on some albums, not ALL songs have the same tuning, so you're pretty screwed... but with non-stop play, you can switch :)
I did this recently for a few live Oasis songs but I didnt see a way to sort the order at all in Non-Stop. Is there a way to do this? Seems like Non-Stop sorts in Alphabetical order but when trying to play a live concert I would like to play it in the order of the concert setlist.

Good read. Thanks. I checked out a past broadcast and followed. Looks like a fun channel.

Did you transfer the Rush psarc files from your old RS pirated dlc directory to the new RS dlc directory?

Any slide guitar players want to test out my lead track for this song? I had to change up the tab quite a bit and wanted to get some feedback.
Thanks.
-
Update - I had to clean up the tab a bit after it was imported into EOF but I have been testing it out in RS and I think I have a solid lead track.
If any of you can test it out with a slide, let me know and I will send you the files. I am not a slide player and had to use a flashlight as a slide to test - so it wasnt optimal to say the least.... :)

This is the tab I have. There is a lot of 1 fret slides so Im not sure if this is going to translate perfectly. For example, Im seeing a lot of 4/5's and thinking it may be 3/5.
If I have time this weekend I will mess around with it.

@PC Plum
Also, I have been having a blast learning all the lead riffs in your version of Sweet Child O' Mine the last couple of days. The lead tone seems spot on. I need to get into that thread and add a thanks!

You could have a play of this to see what I did
I was thinking of making No Expectations but never got around to it. If its the same as the GP tab I have then it looks real nice, but to make it nice in RS is a lot of work.
You have been doing well with your Rolling Stones CDLCs so keep at it man and go for it. Remember it does not have to be perfect, and you can always come back later and update the custom. You cannot learn all skills straight away, keep making customs and you pick up tricks here and there.
What I would look out for as a priority, though, are the slides in GP files
/7
7\
EoF will import these as
6u7 (u means unpitched slide)
7u6
I would manually change them in EoF to
5/7
7u5
two fret differences usually make more sense when actually playing the guitar than 1 fret slides.
Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely give Sister Morphine a go and will attempt No Expecations.
If it gets too much for me I will keep it on the backburner until my EOF skills get better.
If I feel confident in what I have I will put it out to you guys to test it out before I put it out to the masses.

The main things that come to mind are:
1) For chord fingerings you'll only really have the first three fingers or the 4th barring everything, as the pinky is used for the slide. Shouldn't be a problem where the slide parts go for the whole song, but might be a problem if there's only a little bit of slide and you want to try to use other guitar parts to fill in some of the long gaps.
2) There will be lots of slide-ins and slide-outs, so you'll need to take your time to make sure you get those right, as slides often import badly from GP (usually because of poor or lazy GP authoring rather than anything wrong with GP import). I have a big post on fixing slides in EoF. Looking at the tab, you'll probably have to add lots of linknexts and also work on the timing of the slides some, especially the slides up a fret from quarter notes.
Thanks. Sounds a bit much for me but I will check out your post and see what I can do.
-
Gotcha. Just wanted to make sure. I never play slide guitar.
So I should be good just importing the tab into EOF then...good to know.
-
mute strings behind the slide by index finger
I do not know what you mean by this. Can you explain? Thanks.
FYI - here is the tab for the slide guitar - http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/rolling-stones-no-expectations-tab-s17047t1

Im looking to create No Expectations by the Rolling Stones. The lead is played on a slide guitar and was wondering if there is anything that I need to take into consideration that is above and beyond what is normally done when creating a cdlc?
If it is just slides - great.
