  1. That is cool. Making CDLC is a really great accomplishment. The first time will take a lot longer than the rest but once you start playing your song in RS, you will be hooked. Dont give up and ask any of your questions in here and you will get a reply from the fine folks on the forum.

  2. Yes - I read the charts unless it is a rhythm path that I know well.

The key to figuring out how to play difficult riffs is to figure out the proper hand positions that will allow you to pick the notes efficiently and accurately. So, for those riffs that seem difficult, I recommend going into riff repeater, slowing down the section to a speed that allows you to pick out the proper hand position (RS hand positions arent always the best) and practice it until you can feel comfortable at 100% speed.

I am a fan of this method rather than using dynamic difficulty as it throws off my timing.

  3. @@firekorn After a bit more troubleshooting, I got the webcam and game to record when taking the game out full screen exclusivity from the display settings in RS. Not ideal but it worked. The video lag is pretty bad so I am going to check out bandicam's tips for reducing that and see if it will get better.

I dl'd OBS as well so I will see if that is any better. thanks.

  4. @@firekorn Everything is fine for me except when I am recording with the webcam overlay, I see the webcam no problem but the desktop screen video is just white eventhough I am playing the actual song in RS. Audio is fine except that it is not recording the in-game play but just that white screen. Any thoughts?

  5. @@NunoJBSilva.Guitarist's post is pretty spot on. Just wanted to add some things:

    - Timing, timing, timing. Start playing with a metronome. If you are jamming with people, you want to always be in time. I think this is vey high up on the priority list. Like it was mentioned earlier, you can score high on rocksmith by hitting notes/chords even if it is not exactly in time. This wont fly in the real world.

    - If you are playing chords and screw up, keep playing. Just try and not screw up on the actual beat where the chord changes :)

A Best Practices/Tips tutorial to getting high quality audio would be helpful imo. I saw a mention in @@albatross213's guide but any tips would be great for non audio tech types, like myself.

It's actually not too difficult, to get excellent sounding audio. Maybe @PC_Plum can list out his 37 step process   (which does work quite well too).

Is there a particular part that you have questions about?

Yes - I have talked to Plum a bit about this topic but not enough to really understand what I would need to do.

Maybe an intro into the different types of audio files, ranked by quality (.ogg, .mp3, etc...) and then a write up on what can be done (if anything) to enhance each type????

  7. Re: Supersonic Live

Ok - I had to do a lot of work to get the notes into the correct measures b/c the import into EOF was not great. The Solo and Improv sections took the most time due to the amount of notes and the timing seemed off. But, I think I have the lead in pretty good shape. The last few measures are dicey b/c the BPM seems to change a good amount. I am debating whether to take it out or not.

Can anyone test out this cdlc and provide feedback on timing, sound quality, etc.....

    Thanks

  8. @@albatross213 Thanks - I will play it shortly and see how it plays.

The other issue I face is that the song was tabbed for the first night of a concert but the dvd I have is for the second night. Ripping an mp3 from youtube for the first night sounds awful so I decided to pick the lesser of 2 evils and record the audio from the dvd. Most of what is played is the same but there are some small differences. Im hoping the improv is the same but it was hard to tell. I will know more once I test it out.

  9. Hey Guys -

Hoping somebody can help me out here - I am trying to sync up a live version of the song Supersonic by Oasis. The end gets a bit messy b/c the lead guitarist goes a bit improv and I am having a difficult time syncing at that point. I would say around the 'Improv' section is where I have a tough time hearing what is being played.

Here are my files - https://www.mediafire.com/?jgx55ocydgkdrkz

Can anyone help clean up the end part? Thanks.
