Is this the support group for victims of Dave's violence?
Luckily I had made a backup save recently so I lost very little on the error so no worries from me. I posted it in the Jammers thread and Lahelio confirmed the issue I believe. Wasn't sure of the comment on the Rock Your Body in terms of the version of Rocksmith - mine was purchased through Steam and is a legit version of it. Only the 2nd song I've had issue with - had the Foo Fighters song that was originally identified as a save killer but unfortunately I didn't ever research the problem until I had the issue.

Downloaded about 10 songs today and ended up with the save corrupt file next time I went in. Played back through them individually checking the saves and Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body was the culprit. I'm on bass.

I've got Sonos as well. Now you have me curious, how did you run the RS through the Sonos?

Here's another article for reference with lots of comments in the responses too about dealing with the grounding issues. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=208747982 I'm doing a bass as well and didn't want to spend the money. Went with a $25 Behringer Chorus pedal that has dual output and haven't had any buzzing issues at all.

I bought RS2014 thinking I was going to finally learn to play the acoustic/electric that had been gathering dust. Didn't work with the game. Had a friend come over he brought one of his guitars and a bass. I asked him which one I should try and he's suggested starting with the bass because it was easier. That was the very first time I'd ever picked up a bass and DD was a fantastic thing to have. First few months having never played before it was great and I think it is definitely a benefit to the game. After I finally got somewhat proficient and moved to the pc version for easier access to CDLC I almost never use it today. It's harder to relearn a riff with a few added notes after the fact than to learn it correctly the first time.

Not sure what you are going to use to split the signal. I went with the simplest and cheapest option of a cheap pedal. However I read up on a bunch of different options here http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=208747982. Lots of good comments by users too in that post. But I didn't want to make the investment in a DI box or something similar having just paid for an amp.
My cheap solution was a $25 Behringer Chorus pedal that has dual output. A little finicky at times but overall has been great given the price. One thing to take note of is Rocksmith needs a clean signal to work so you can't use the pedal effects when you are playing the game. You're only using it as a splitter - so when playing the game you can't have the pedal on. Took me a few minutes and several line changes to figure out what the issue was. Also, remember to go into Rocksmith and turn down/off your bass volume all the way so you only hear your amp.
As for strings, I played mine for awhile and they were fine. Might as well get a couple months of use out of them while you're still breaking in the instrument.

My play is starting to change a bit with my platform. The first 6 months of RS I was on the Xbox 360 and only played a couple times a week. I never used RR or any of the other tools because it was a pain using the xbox controller to do it. I spent all my time using Learn Songs and I'd just skip around song to song and rarely played something 2 times in a row. Wasn't a great way to learn the individual songs but the variety kept me interested.
Switched to using the PC a few months ago mainly because of the CDLC and I'm slowly starting to use the RR tools etc. Not a whole lot but more than I ever did on Xbox. I tend to download a lot of songs by artists I like, and I'll bounce from one song to the next. RIght now my goal is to get things into the 90+% and not really fine tuning individual songs to 100%. I'll go back when something is in the 80%s and work on it a few times to get it up in the 90%s. (Had the corrupt save file issue a couple times and lost all my progress so not sure how many songs I know) Being a total beginner my focus is more on training my fret hand to get around the fret board and less about learning a particular song. After doing that for a few months I've noticed that when I do go back and play one of those easier early songs I had started on, I can often easily take it to 100% in only a take or two so I can tell I'm improving. It just hasn't really been my focus to learn songs, I figure that will come once I get more proficient with the bass.

Yep I did the rounds for several weeks checking out music stores and pawn shops too when I was trying to figure out what I wanted in the range of what I wanted to buy. Endless amount of choices when you factor in all the used gear you can get so it just has to feel right for you. I ended up going with an Ibanez SR300. Really liked the tone of it and it's super light weight. Knowing I was mainly going to be using it for Rocksmith and not taking it anywhere, figured I could go with something that wasn't quite as heavy duty as most others. Would definitely recommend it to a fellow beginner if you want to spend that much. http://e6ee355f6b52135bf99d-24afd19e4548a12cca5a6a8962f16307.r79.cf2.rackcdn.com/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/b/ibn-sr300-mg_1.jpg

I pretty much only listen to Spotify so I'm sort of out of the loop on what's rated vs underrated. A few bands that I'm surprised more folks don't seem to listen to are: We Were Promised Jetpacks, Kvelertak, and The Kooks. WWPJ is just solid straight forward rock. Kvelertak is great mixture of rock metal and they do a great job of paying homage to other bands. The Kooks just make great, simple pop songs.

I'm a beginner as well and one thing that made a big difference for me was getting an amp. Started using Rocksmith about a year ago borrowing a 5 string from a friend. Had a really hard time just dealing with the 5th string. Ended up getting an entry level Ibanez and it has been great. But, the biggest difference in my play came when I got an amp about a month ago. I run the line through a pedal to get a dual output, so one in the PC and one into the amp. Being able to isolate the bass volume etc. really helped me listen more to how I was playing and understanding better how to stay in time etc. Just something to think about as well.

I've only been playing for about a year, so tracking my progress on the songs is very useful to keep pushing myself forward. I keep several hundred songs in my play folder so I don't remember off the top of my head which songs I might be in the 80%s vs the 70%s etc. With a lot of songs when I'm up there at or near 100% I rarely play again unless I really like the song because I'm not really learning anything by doing that. I could go through and start removing them from my main folder but creates more hassle for the few times when I do want to queue it up.
