Never seen this behaviour before in RR.
When you generate the DD you can select a checkbox to produce a log file. This file could contain warnings or errors at the beginning.
Can you share this package ? I am interested to take a look inside ...

Yeah this seems to be a new problem that arose since I uploaded that file, with that one I only had the caching issue. I don't know what's going on now. Also I''ve never had a problem before when I ignored those prompts. I'll upload the more recent version so you can see.
Your 1.2 version works for me.
You just have to add new sections in EOF to obtain the DD bars and the RR (at least the "Intro" section at the beginning of the song).
What happens if you try to package the project file with the toolkit? 1.2 may not be a good example, because I think I removed all the sections just so I could play it at all. The EoF file should have a section every 2 measures or so.
For the version I tried, I have added the "intro" section at the beginning and the "outro" section at three or four measures from the end.
If it works for you, you can then try to add more sections (one each four measures).

No matter what I do, the game freezes on the amps + wall whenever I try to generate it with DDC.
You have a few warnings in EOF to correct (the warnings are displayed during the save process) :
- Reset offset to zero
- Only one tone in the tones list (I have deleted it)
- Handshapes issues (I have kept them)
Then, generate DD again and repack your CDLC.
It works fine for me ....

I'm having an issue with a song that's about 2 minutes long. Whenever I add sections, when to I go into RR and turn up the difficulty, it freezes the game. I had to go in and delete all the sections.
Here's everything you could possibly need (project folder):
http://www.mediafire.com/download/lmo29bd22uv3y8y/Joe+Satriani+-+Brother+John.zip
Here's a request:
Would it be possible to add a feature/option to DDC to add sections in the same places where it creates phrases? They always seem to be in the perfect place for RR, and it would help the new folks charting who're intimidated by the whole phrase/section thing (and lazy people like me) since it would make adding RR support a snap.
Hi,
The crash in RR is generally caused by the cache of DD in Rocksmith 2014.
When you modify the DD of a CDLC that you already played in the game, either :
- play the new version one time until the end without using the RR- select a small part of the track in RR and reduce the DD level only if the DD selector is lower than 100% (do this, part by part until the whole DD level of the song is lower than 100%)For your request :
- the phrase creation process of DDC is not clever.
- It works well when the sections are correctly placed by the creator of the song.
So, it could be more complicated to add the sections automatically.
Give me a feedback if the workaround solves your problem (or not).
Thanks

Do you know that you can import the tones of an existing psarc file in the first tab of the Toolkit ?
Then you can save a tone to keep its XML file.

Ok I see now,
I don't know how the "Input Method" preference changed, I always used the "Piano Roll" mode before ...
Thanks a lot for the quick answer !

Hi Raynebc,
I tried to add tech notes on a track, but when I use the right-click to add a box on an existing note there is only a pop-up menu without a choice concerning the tech notes ...
Is there a menu or a key to add a box ?
Second question : in the normal view (not the tech view), how to add a new note on the track (menu ?, key ?)
Thanks

Hi,
About the DDC question :
DDC was conceived to work with CDLCs which have notes well synchronized with the rhythm and not only with the soundtrack.
If the notes are not in sync with the beats (vertical bars in EOF), or if the time signature is not correctly set in EOF, the categorization process of DDC will affect too many notes to the same level. So you will have too many notes which can appear at the same level of difficulty.

You have to apply DD on the XML files generated by EOF (PART REAL_GUITAR_RS2.xml, PART REAL_BASS_RS2.xml, ...)
Then you generate the "psarc" with the Toolkit by referencing the XML files generated by DDC (or those generated by EOF for non DD tracks) ...

Hi AtGame7,
I practice windsurfing and water skiing during my summer vacations in the South of France.
For our last trip in Florida, we had planned to try the WaterSports Complex at Orlando (FL). However, we have not had time to do so.
Here is the web site of this Complex : Orlando WaterSports.
It may have other sites like this in the USA, but I don't know them (if someone else can help).
What I can say about this kind of installation (same than in France) :
- safe (lake, flat water, lifejackets, helmets, ...)
- easier to learn than behind a boat
- fun for teenagers and adults (kneeboard, waterski, wakeboard)
If you need more informations about these watersports do not hesitate to ask ;)
Good luck

Hi Mad_Duck,
In the DDC tab, submit only the XML files for the tracks on which you want to add DD.
DDC will create new XML files with a "DDC_" prefix.
Then, select the good XML file (with or without DD) for each arrangement when you create the package...

When you had the first crash in RR, was there a previous release of the same song in RS2014 (with the same id) ?
-
Hi,
If the first section is empty (no note and no chord inside) for an arrangement the song may crash in the RR. So DDC deletes this section or moves its starting phrase automatically to avoid the crash.
I am interested by your original psarc file to investigate this problem.
Can you share it please ?
-
It depends on your RS profile. More your skill raises up and more the first level of difficulty is high.
If the song does not have many levels of difficulty it can explain why you have to start at this level.
Some CDLCs are not well sync (notes and rhythm) so DDC can generate to many notes by level.
You can manually raise down the starting level of a song with the Riff Repeater.
-
Hi,
DDC can work only for CDLCs which have :
- no DD at all
- DD previously generated by DDC
So, if you try to apply DDC on a custom which already has DD made manually by the author, an error occurs.

Hi R3P01,
I am using all tools under Windows 8.1 without any problem ...
DDC is included in the Toolkit as a separate ".exe" file, you may have an antivirus software which does not allow its execution.
If you are using Avast, you can define an exception for "ddc.exe" which is located under "<Toolkit folder>ddcddc.exe"
Hope that helps ...

Did you search for "<my song> guitar pro tab" on Google ?Many contributors are using these tabs to create their CDLCs.You can open these files with Tuxguitar, a free tool for editing tabs in Guitar Pro format.

@@raynebc, thanks a lot for this new highlighting feature of non grid snapped notes !
I tried it yesterday and it is very useful to detect the notes which are not on the grid.
But I was surprised that the "resnap" function didn't automatically hide the highlighting on the corrected notes
So to improve this functionality without adding too many lines of code, you could do :
- only one entry in the menu with an ON/OFF toggle function (display or hide the highlighting notes)
- two automatic calls to this function (in OFF mode first, then in ON mode) after a resnap if the highlighting mode was activated (no call otherwise)

Update 21/04/2014 : New songs available ...
-
If the same note is only use as PM in your song, click on the first one, then "select precise like" to select all other same notes in the song, finally toggle the PM status for the whole selection...
I made this on few of my customs to be more efficient...

As MVega said :
- Set the time signature (4/4, 3/4, ...)
- Synchronize the first main beat with the start of the soundtrack
- Set the default BPM
- Import the notes from the Guitar Pro Tab file
- Synchronize the main beat of each measure (vertical bar) with the soundtrack
I took a look on your EOF project :
Your beats seem to be well synchronized with the soundtrack, but the notes are all totally not synchronized with the beats.
For the sync process, display the waveform graph, it is more accurate than the audio and be carreful when using a "playback rate" lower than 50% (possible lag between the start and the end of each note)
Personally I use a playback rate at 100% with a "clap" sound for each note and I always use the waveform graph to localize the real position of the main beat of each measure.
When your beatmap is totally in sync with the audio soundtrack, you can delete all notes and reimport them on your track with no more effort.
I am using this process to improve my old customs (open, delete all notes, reimport them), because last releases of EOF can now apply some techs directly during the import of the guitar pro tab (and because my beatmaps are always in sync).

Hi Alex,
I Took the NDD psarc file and generated DD directly on the "psarc" (Toolkit v2.6.0.0-92d11364...).
All arrangements work fine for me ...
Here is the generated file with DD inside : Crazy DD v2.2
Best regards

Hi raynebc,
Thank you for all the new features since my last thank (a few months ago now  )
What about the generation of the "transcriptionTrack" tag, by EOF ?
Is it still on your to-do list ?
