As we grow into a bigger website we must evolve, and to do so we must upgrade our forums and ignition. During our upgrades, we ran into several problems, and unfortunately we learned about them days after. We were forced to roll back to a backup we took on March 5th.

Is there no development instance where you may test things before upgrading the productive system?

I have no discord - was the backup broken since 5th and you had to go back each day to find a working backup copy? This was then really bad luck, because when upgrading there's always a chance that something goes wrong and if you can't rely on the backup you're lost.

I don't think that I get a 100% but enjoyed Ghost a lot - if you like this song I recommend to listen to their new and previous albums.

People without admin right can't see the IP - the link goes to an error page. The privacy you have depends on the data perservation of your ISP and of course what others do with the data. If there are 6 month and then the ISP deletes it you have no assignment of the IP in the past to determine who used it. The only thing you can do is not to post your private data to every site and hope that a shop (or site where you have entered you real data) will not be hacked (they won't tell you if there's no banking data lost).

Thx for the explanation - the Meshup with YT is no problem and if you don't want to participate just ignore it.

Changing the file permission should not be necessary and the attributes are added by your browser, but should be no harm that the customs don't work or not showing up in the songlist.

Which problem should the change of the permission or deleting attributes solve? Or was it because you were not aware that you need a dlc and it's ID to play a custom? If you've bought the Cherub dlc you don't have to change anything with the files - only converting them to mac if there's no mac version and adding it to the dlc. If it does not show up there might be another reason, for example duplicates or broken custom(s) - another possible reason: there was an update of RS and you've to re-apply the patch (and hopefully it works again) or we are doomed :).

 

Can someone just remind me what the rules are again, for ranking up (bass). 'Cos I've just read the rules and it says rank up for >=99.5%...

Yo, it is 99.5+ bass (99+ guitar) on a song with the highest diff on a class (so 3 for beg, 5 for int and 7 for adv).

 

If you reach that level still you can beg and throw your whole unworthyness in the pot to stay in your old class if your classmates and the orgas agree.

 

If you are unworthy :P and do not reach 99.5%+ (or 99% guitar) you still anytime can call Scotty (or one of us) to beam you up.

Steam has added for different people a temporary ban for uploading screenshots of customs - the days accumulate depending on the number of posted screenshots. Some have deleted all their uploads - I've not heard that they've closed an account, but I would not test it out.

Was it only relevant to use one of the services or a general problem if a website uses cloudflare? The search keyword is "cloudbleed" ...

Some say change the password, others it's not necessary ... maybe the truth is a mix :) If you don't use the password on other sites it's probably not a high risk to keep the password. 1Password data was said it has been encrypted ... but I'm not a fan to transfer passwords or other private data into a could.

It's not attached and hosted somewhere else - don't know if attachements are activated, but probably it's disabled.

Ghost is nice :) I didn't know them before RS and bought their albums after playing one of their songs.

I've played Square Hammer a while ago when it has been posted. I hope you don't mind that it's not perfect and it's from January. Don't know if it counts, but if I've some time left I'll play it again to see if I can beat my previous score.

With one run I don't think that a 79% is a bad try. Ofc there are players which are in the 90% and higher with no effort, but there's always a bigger fish :D

I'm no guitar teacher and did the same - playing guitar on and off, had a break for years.

To avoid wrist pain, maybe you put too much pressure on the strings, which is not necessary and as said in the postings before get yourself into a relaxing position.

The most important thing is that you've fun while playing your instrument - doesn't matter if it's guitar, bass or anything else. Try to play regularly and pick songs you like (this will keep you playing it, because you won't get annoyed when listening to it more than 20 times ;)) - if the song is more complicated it's not necessary to use DD if you don't like it; use RR, select all sections and play it at a slower speed or pick a section or riff you want to learn and level it up - starting with a speed where you can follow the notes (doesn't matter if it's 50% speed or less) - with some practice you'll build up speed. It's not necessary to practice every day for hours - if you've only time for 20 minutes it's fine and it is ok to have a break, but don't put your instrument away for weeks or months. You may combine it with some physical exercise - for example going out for (nordic) walking and the other day playing guitar or a both on some days. If you do this for a month, then 2 months it will become a routine and then you will miss something if you've no time left at one day for it - and don't set too ambitious targets. Ofc we all want to play like <enter your favourite musician> and if you reach a few % of it will be a success and keep you motivated to continue.

I don't know if this has changed, but songpacks only worked with pc and not on mac or the console platforms.

Keep in mind - downloading is only one click and creating the custom takes much more time. Leave some kind words or a thx in the thread of the charters which you'll miss when downloading a songpack or a torrent ;)

I like this song, played the bass part a while ago (something in the low 80% iirc :)) - failed in the outro with one strike and nice scores everybody else posted here

Here's a minor improvement with +1% and 100+ streak, but I don't think that I can get it into the 90% in this short time - more of a long term goal
