Managed to jib off SA's advances :) No more kisses for meee! Onwards and upwards! :D
I know what you mean, that SA, she, or probably he in your case gets a bit over amorous at times. I mean I like her, just not that much.

Hey @@Smile, great to see you back!

gonna be another long week!!!
flipside:
At the beginner level they are all long weeks I think :)
I'm trying to give up smoking at the moment, and I was losing my temper and throwing picks at the screen last night when I couldn't make my fingers work
Just noticed in your awards that you are both 1st and 2nd in the Beginner lead bracket. Have you managed to find a way to enter twice without anyone noticing :-)

I thought I'd give the Int song a try, and for any beginners that are unsure, I actually struggled more with the Beginner song than the first couple of plays on this one. I can recommend beginners giving this a go, personally I enjoyed it more than the Beginner song
I'll spend a bit more time with it and see if I can get the score up.

It's been a battle to get past the 93% and to the top of the bottom, but I suspect I won't stay there long :-)

I've managed to get a few quick plays in to avoid posting a late score again. Some work to do to improve though.

Hi everyone, I really did my homework last week, I just couldn't deliver it on time, sorry about that. I really should post on fridays, we'll see.
So, @@Rodman said he has 4 guitars, each with a different tuning. I just have an old one, but really could afford another. Thing is I never thought about using them like that, i's so damn practical! For the time being, a friend keeps her guitar at my place, so having instant E and Eb is just so great, so thanks @@Rodman I can't believe it never entered my mind.
Hey @@Tango, I only have the two. I keep one tuned in E and one tuned in in Drop D. It really is very useful, and saves a lot of pain tuning all of the time.

catching up diddie!
cannonball lead:
@@franfit I've put on a little tonight, but it's still within reach, One good run and you can do it!
That's probably me done now for the week too. The hands are too tired, and I don't think I'm going to get time before the close tomorrow.

And a quick rhythm update -

I've had no real time to play since Tues, but work is now finished for the week :-)

I still think there's another percent or two in it yet. If I get get it all together in one good run, 95% is not out the question.

And the Rhythm, which is just the easier bit of the lead anyway.

Sorry I'm late in this week, I usually like to get a score in early to encourage others to beat it. I always feel that if I don't post scores until later in the week, it doesn't encourage others to post their scores. The spirit of the championship for me is encouraging yourself and others to push harder through friendly competition. I'll try to get a start earlier next week.
I didn't expect to like this song, but I actually really enjoy playing it. I think there's another few percent in it yet :-)

A bit more time to practice tonight, but a whole lot of work for 2%. I'm struggling with the last 3 sections, but I don't really see 8% in it.
Oh well, I'll keep going, but it's small fractions now.

I haven't had much time to practice this week, and I don't think it's going to get any better.
I managed to get an hour or so in tonight and at least post a score. I'm struggling with the ending in score attack, and if I don't get enough of it get 3 strikes.

@@diddie17 Haha, I was thinking about participating that week (Halestorm), but that song is crap  and I waited 'till Metric
There are still some good beginner songs out there, but not many rhythms (all I can think off are The Go-Go's).
@Mortalo I liked the Metric Track too, although I finished dead last in the beginner section with 94.55% We could do the metric track again. I was crap the first time and you are no longer in the beginner, should be fair :).
Alternatively, if you fancied a bit of 80's soft metal, as a break from Blondie, I was starting to learn Def Leppard - Animal tonight. I would say it fits in the beginner section. After the first few plays, I am in the high 80's% bracket, but with a little work I think I could get it into the 90's.
-
@@Mortalo - Sorry, the only songs that I know of that are easy, I have already spent lots of time playing, and that doesn't seem fair.
it doesn't matter how often you already have played a song. Feel free to add it to the list. If we didn't have played it here before there is no matter to avoid a song if it fits the requirements.
I was just looking at this and one of my favourite beginner level songs is Halestorm - I miss the misery, but when I looked it's been on before back in week 23. In fact apparently I submitted a score, although in the bottom half of the table :-)
Looking at the beginner participants in week 23 though, Myself and @@MaZtoR were the only participants at the time, MaZtor is no longer in beginner class, and I'd be happy to focus on intermediate that week.
I guess what I was wondering is if we are short of songs, why we wouldn't recycle some of the early beginner songs, especially the ones that were good, when none or very few of the participants have played it before in the championship.

Hard work on the practice tonight, I'm now working with small, small margins, and trying to get it all together in one run is really hard. Anyway, a small improvement -

Well, I'd never have believed it was possible at the beginning of the week, but I've just scraped into the 90's
It has taken 36 plays, and that's excluding all the time I've spent in Riff repeater, but I'm absolutely pumped to have got this far.
Talking of pumped, my left arm feels like it's about to fall off :) Thanks @ and all for the encouragement or I'd probably have given up at the start.

Hey men of beginner class, please, add some easy a songs to SSL. allowed 2 in beg and 2 in other class. Else you again will to play a song which i rated difficult as 3 at next week
:)
Having been pretty down about my early dismal failures, I'm enjoying this one now. It really is pushing me :). I'd rather get 80% on this than 98% on one that I only play twice because it's too easy. I think I'm in a bit of a gap at the high end of beginner/low end of intermediate at the moment.
I think you described it best yesterday when you called it a fight. I really am fighting with this song, but I'm enjoying the fight.
If the other beginners want something a bit easier next week then I can just spend my time working on the intermediate.
Anyway, after lots of 79% and 80% plays, I finally got a good run all the way and got -
Beginner lead - 85.5% I'll keep going but I'm not sure I'll get much more.

Managed to squeeze another couple of percent out of it. Hopefully I can break 80% by the end of the week.
