  1. Hi @@Alex360, you were correct about my Wwise, I was using 2013.  I have upgraded to 2015.  I haven't tried the auto convert support yet, but all of my creation tools are now current (EoF build 1-21-2016, & Toolkit version 2.6.1.0-d38eadf0).  I recreated my wem files, and resaved my EoF files with the new version, and tried regenerating DDC.  When I did that I got this error:

Here is the contents of the log file:

I looked again in EoF, but I don't know what it means by "The first note (68.372) has a time position lower than the first anchor (210.152)".  I've checked the anchors in the EoF chart, and there are many before the first note on the bass track.  Could this be due to some change in the DDC logic?  I remember reading a post from @@Rockfirstlast in the 'Latest EoF Release' post by @@raynebc, (see page 72) about an issue he had that was causing the fret hand position to jump around...?

I was unsure if this is independent of the other issue, so I tried to recreate the CDLC with no DDC, and it failed again, but for some reason, I was able to generate for XBox.  It only failed for PS3 when I tried this song before, all the 6 or 7 CDLC I have worked on since, have successfully generated XBox files.  This is the new error, I think its the same as the old one, but only for PS3:

Regarding the tuning on Rhythm with the 2 lowest strings tuned to -2, that is correct, it is a G6 tuning, D-G-d-g-b-e.

Please find my new project file here.

    Thanks again for your help!

  2. Hi raynebc,

I've had a problem with build 12-11-2015: my mouse has become less responsive and jumpy when using EOF.  I tried to adjust the DPI and reporting settings on my mouse, as they gave me trouble when I was first learning to chart, but it had no effect; this is the first time it has reoccurred since.  I reinstalled 12-2-2015 and the issue went away.

Please let me know if you need more information, or if there is some way I can be of assistance with this,

    Regards,

    Tysylio

Please disregard, I did something stoopid...

  3. What I mean by grander tempo changes is, say you have a song where in the middle it speeds up from 95 BPM to 190 BPM, instead of something not so big like 95 to 97 - which is usually just human error or accent.

Regarding anchors and beat markers, the very first beat marker is special, you can use it to shift the whole beat chart, and it is anchored.  The ones after that, you can tweak by dragging and dropping to sync a song, and once you have it in the best spot, it applies an anchor to keep it there.  You can remove it again by pressing 'a' when selected with a right click.

To answer your question, yes, I believe that's normal.

In the picture below, you can see I have set minor BPM changes by dragging and dropping, which applies an anchor, at the beginning of preverse1 and preverse2 - the values are slightly different.

    Minor%20BPM%20change.JPG

Whereas, here, I have halved the BPM at the 11th bar using the Halve BPM function:

    Half%20BMP.JPG

I would recommend, when first setting-up your track try to find the closest BPM for your track (in my case above, it is about 235), and then sync the song every bar or two, or whatever you feel makes your song great.  The anchors will help you to not mess-up what you have already spent time syncing.

I hope this makes it more clear.

  4. If you right-click on the beat marker at the point where you want the BPM to change, select:

Beat -> BPM Change (to set the BPM amount manually), or...

    Beat -> Double BPM, or...

    Beat -> Halve BPM, or...

You right click on the desired start beat, set an anchor point (a), you then can drag subsequent beat markers to the desired tempo, which will create anchor points each time you drag and drop.  This last method is best for syncing a track, and not so much for grander tempo changes within a song.

  5. Wait... what?  When did this become possible?  I just updated to  9-15-2015 from 1436.

    Wait%20what.JPG

Was this on purpose?  I'm just asking in case it was an accident.  But if not, what is the intended use? an un-strummed pre-slide? or???  Does RS support this?

I was used to pulling back on my wheel to ensure I didn't have any unwanted note trails, and woah!

  6. Hi admins, or anyone who can help,

I recently got back from a 6-week business trip, and I haven't logged in to CF on my desktop PC since I left, only on my laptop.  I enabled two-step authentication on my account, however for some reason when I try to log in to CF on my desktop PC, it never accepts the 6 digit code.  I tried to disable it on my laptop, but I need the code there too, which it wont accept.  While away on my business trip, I had to wipe my cell phone, and recently just reinstalled the Google Authentication app.  I tested it out on my google account, and it works fine there.  I don't know why it isn't accepting the code for CF.  Am I forgetting a key step?  Please help me out, I do all my customs on my desktop.

    Much appreciated,

    Tysylio

  7. Hi all,

I want to thank all of you for the positive feedback to my customs!  I'm still working on revamping all of my customs, but progress is slow because I am also a DM for my weekly D&D table.  We are currently playing an adventure I wrote, but... I'm not actually done writing it yet!  :D  So, I have to make sure I stay well ahead of the players in the story line.

Not to worry though, I have a LOT more songs I want to do, and a lot of desire to do them, I'm just saying that there may be a bit of a lull for a month or so.  I'm still here, and I'm still appreciating the love and constructive feedback you give me about the CDLC I produce.  So thank you, and stay tuned!

  8. I'll be adding a fiddle track when I update "Dirty Old Town" by the Pogues.  I only have some of the tab though - there are fills after the initial solo, if anyone can tab them out for me I will most surely add them with gratitude!

Watch for Dirty Old Town v2.0 in the next few days.   :)

  9. After a little digging: a guitar is E2, A2, D3, G3, B3, E4, whereas I find that the banjo in my song is tuned to G4, C3, G3, B3, D4, which is not too far off.  I believe A440 should work.  Does anyone play a banjo?  Let me know, I'd love for you to test this out for me once I'm done.

Edit: Nope, I don't believe A440 will work after all.  The 5th string is an issue with the limitation of +/- 11 steps in EoF.  Maybe A880 using the top 5 strings?  I'm not sure how you get past the tuning of the low E string though... maybe by swapping instruments?

  10. I need help.  I've been trying to figure out what is causing the Rhythm track of "I Want You (she's so heavy)" to crash at start-up.  I've researched possible causes here in the forums, and I can't for the life of me isolate the cause.

I've read all of the suggestions in these posts: here, here, and here, and tried the following actions:

    • recreated the wem files
    • recharted from scratch (twice  )
    • removed all tech notes (from the other tracks, as the rhythm has none)
    • removed all sections/phrases
    • tested each track independently (the bass and lead are fine, and oddly, the most complex)
    • renamed and numbered the tracks during each test
    • ...and maybe some other actions, I forget now...

The best reason I can come up with, is that the xml for the rhythm track is somehow getting corrupted or has a conflict within it, but I've exhausted every avenue to figure out how or what.

My project folder is here for anyone who is willing to have a look at it.

I truly appreciate any and all the help and suggestions anyone can give me on this, I've spent countless hours trying to fix this track.
