  1. @@TrbInTrbIn How can oiled String cut your finger ? I don't get it. I know you can easily get slapped by a string but how could it cut anything ?

I can only imagine you take the string and push and pull on both sides of the string at some edge of some obstacle, like a piece of wood/metal... [emoji53]

I think that oiled fingertip will be easier to cut by narrow string maybe. When I bend a lot I sometimes can see that there is thing like a trail on finger. Maybe if my fingers will be oiled, skin will be cut not simply pushed inside. I hope you understand what I mean with my ugly English skills...

Thx for the arctile it contains a bunch of interesting details. I'm always adjasting saddles when changing strings. But I'm lazy to make it when tuning to Eb and moving saddle cannot fix half a tone error, my strings are simply too old (more than 3 month, I think, and d'addarios one are not very durable as many reviews says)... Have bought today EB Slinky Cobalt 10-52 set. Were planning at first to buy Gilmore set for Les Paul (it is claimed to has balanced tension for all strings for equal force to bend. I must make my self find frequence-width-tension formula and calc it myself to be sure string devs aren't cheating), but guys in shop have given the last set before I came. Do we have some thread to discuss strings?

  4. My opinion that is CPU overheat is always a HARDWARE problem. Good setup can't be physicaly overheated. That especially affects notebooks: bad designed Acers are tend to overheat (have now a Samsung one and it doesn't overheat on any load, even when I leave it make calculus with videocard for 5-6 hours). I would propose next steps:

    1) Change termal paste and clean a PC from dust. We have in Russia some termal paste with aliminum dust in it, it has a very high heat transfer rate, but it allows a current flow though it, so you need to be accurate when dealing with such a paste. Tips: layer of paste should be as minimal as possible, every paste transfers heat much worse than metall of cooler radiator. Layer of paste should be enough to prevent air to stay between CPU and cooler.

    2) If it doesn't help, I really recommend buy a new cooler with a big radiator. I have old ZALMAN CNPS9700, and with it is hard to heat a CPU even to 40-50 degrees. Also it is good investment -- with a minimal work with file, it can be easily installed to your next PC, especially when every new CPU heats less due to decrease of techprocess. Tips: always buy a cooler with PWM control of speed (it has a 4-pin connector) or it will always work on the top speed and make you PC sound like a jet, you can also search ebay or local stores for a special regulator that allows add a PWM function to your 3-pin cooler.

  5. Evening score update from me. I were practicing solo today (1-5 mistakes up to 80 speed), got result below and became so happy that continued by playing session mode like a mad :) I think that is a first time I've scored more than a million, it seems only CS can make do that.

  6. Do you guys have the same issue after playing for 1-2 hours, that your left hand (frethand) hurts before the right one does ? It's kinda weird because at the beginning it was always the righz hand tho.

The next milestone for me was that both you hands don't hurt, you can see how skin is going from you left hand finger tips with no pain. But after a long play you will simply get tired. I can feel pain only in wrist of left hand when need to play some hard chords or stretch a lot. You can try Judas Priest -- Redeemer of Souls, that song always makes my left wrist to feel pain.

  7. It seems I've managed with everything myself: the system is that songs are a special Pages thing, you can find a setting for notification from Pages in your profile option under Notification tab. And when you add a song to collection you are simply follow it. So it looks like, that it is necessary to follow songs from collections, but you can disable songs notifications in above mentioned menu. Is that right?

  8.

I was wondering the same thing.  However, that link doesn't actually show anything.

All I get is a blank page that says "Sorry, we could not find any content that you are following".

Also, as was mentioned in another thread, I'm still no longer receiving notifications for updates to customs that I am following.

Have you choosen a Pages on left and below Rocksmith CDLC options should be enabled? That is a place I've just found all my CDLC follows.

Edit: OMG, it seems that unfollowing song delete it from Ignition collection... Will go restoring it...

  9. I have 3 guitars, one is a super old soviet-made acoustic, the second is the electic my father made himself in highschool (not sure how that period is named in English). This both are rather old and hardly playable. But my fathers guitar is looking pretty amazing from side (I've restored it two years ago, it was dusting on the attic of my grandmothers house for thirty+ years).

The third is pretty cheap Oscar Schmidt OE20, I consider it a super thing (maybe that is because I've never touch some more expensive ones?).

And what should I do with myself to stop being greedy, leave all those questions like "why do you need another one?" and go and by another at least cheap one? The one below looks pretty great for the money:

  10. Yet...

I think it's a billion dollar industry with pots of gold for the first company to get there, you can bet that "they" are trying very hard to make it a reality.

All online games have lag and I have seen people in CSS with <10ms lag.  I'd play online with 10ms lag no problem.

The problem is that 10ms isn't so spread (I've much higher latencies), the second thing is that CS and other shooters sends only a small in size packets with commands while Rocksmith will need to send an audio of good quality to get a good sound. And another moment is that you can send two comands in CS with a delay for example 10 ms, and if they will came to a server in moments with distance 15 or 20 ms it is still good, but that doesn't work for a sound. And a third major moment is that trafic is packetized and if a packet with a 300 ms of audio will be delayed it will be bad. That is a alltime trade between latency and bandwidth.

Funny fact: do you know what method of data transfer has a biggest bandwidth for a long distances? The method is simple: take a bunch of harddrives, write info to them, put them into the suitcase, get a plane ticket, read a data from drives on the destination PC.  :)

But enough speaking, anybody who is interested can try to play through Skype or Teamspeak (don't remember other audio-transfer apps).

PS: we shouldn't dive so much into the VR, but go to the friends garage or basement floor and play with them :)

  11. As mentioned above online play seems not to be possible due to delays in networks.

The thing I really were expecting from the first Rocksmith is the backing tracks, I remember how Guitar Hero enables the guitar sound when you are playing right, and disables on misses. I wish Rocksmith will be able to play only backing track on Master Mode or for learned phrases, and to add guitar track when you need to hear it to know how to play. And of course they should add a builtin ability to record videos and covers + I miss a replay after playing a song from the first Rocksmith: after you are playing a song it shows you a record of how you were playing (but devs should add a fastforward in that case).

  12. There is one thing that always helps me with corrupted profiles: find a profile file, right-click a file and choose properties, there is a old-versions tab (NTFS fs saves old copies of files), than you restore to a version that a bit older. But I got such errors only in case of electricity switching off or other failures.

  13. It sounds to me like these should be "pre-bend and held" bends that gradually increase in bend strength as the line goes on.

Probably the easiest way I can think of to fix this would be making a measure of tremelo and having it gradually bend from nothing to the final bend strength. The big drawback with this is that I don't think there's really an opportunity to "rack up" misses as you do with separate 16th notes if you play it wrong (i.e. I'm pretty sure a tremolo just counts as one note so you don't get appropriately punished if you mess it up).

The ideal would be to have each bend set individually to be pre-bent and held. Seems like it would be slightly annoying to do, but I guess this song deserves it  :D.

The same thing with increasing bend is used in the Rocksmith version of Smoke on the Water solo. So it is possible to check it there.

  14. And I am still not sure that intro is tabbed right for This will never end. You can try to look at some of their lives, and it seems for me they don't move their hands from 3rd fret to 7th. Maybe I think so cuz it seems impossible for me to move hand between bass 3rd fret down to 7 fret so fast and play it clean? (Maybe that high notes should be shifted one string to play them using first 3 frets?) It seems there is no covers on youtube or other videos where we can clearly see how its played. Of course, almost everywhere 3rd fret on six string should be palmmuted.

That note sounds like it is normal, but frethand muted immediately, not palmmuted.

Yellow note sounds in music like a usual without any harmonic.

I've tried to listen to other places, but there is so much sounds that sometimes I can't cleanly hear.

Hmm. just discovered this one uses the 23rd fret on the high e string... but I guess you could bend that up to that one note.
When I see stuff like that, I always wonder if it is a "mistake" in the chart, or if guitars with more than 22 frets are really that widely spread... Anyway, I think there should be an "intrument requiremend" entry for this sort of thing...

One of the Blind Guardian guitarists have a 24-freat guitar as I can see from lives.

Edit: and it seems we need to fix the chords part https://youtu.be/sjEMO32cw0o?t=1m54sHere you can see they don't play that -310-- chord (Bm??).

Edit2: and returning to first screenshot prove: https://youtu.be/sjEMO32cw0o?t=2m34s(he even plays it on next string)

  15. @@TrbInTrbIn make sure to hit the right bend strenght for correct intonation, it's not so easy. Good to practice and check with a chromatic tuner. Try to improve your technics.

When you bend not accurate Rocksmith shows that to you by showing note on screen higher or below the target, but in my case it simply shows nothing, like I'm not playing at all. Anyway I blame a low input in my case: after a while bended note sounds much quiter and Rocksmith stops thinking you are playing, even when hi-gain preset gives you sound. And of course training always needed to hear a bend size by ear. I'm practicing it by plucking note a one/two frets higher and than while I remember how it sounds I make a bend. Another way: find a bend target on higher string and play a bended note and normal at the same time, it is easy to hear wrong you or right. Thats a ways in case you are too lazy to turn on amp or Rocksmith :)

  16. About bends - I think that it's on our end :P Recently I started to hit those high e 13th fret full steps. At least I know that it is on my end and watching something like this (2 min 37 sec):

    https://youtu.be/vmqFbOtiFqA?t=157

Maybe Rocksmith is not that bad at recognizing after all :D

But I am playing along with GuitarRig, and can clearly hear that note is sounding, but rocksmith often says I haven't picked anything at all. Will try to recalibrate.
